    Hi,

Does anybody know if Last Man Standing comps, in P.Power for example, would not be on this week because there isn't a full set of fixtures? Carling Cup Final is on!

    Cheers

Don't know for sure but would have thought so as there's only 2 teams not playing in the League, still 8 League matches on.

Speaking of which..I got free entry to Last Man private tournament through oddschecker. Wonder how we could go about getting ou own freebie tournament. I'm sure Paddy would have no problem putting up a grand for a free bit of publicity on here and extra traffic to their site?

Mods, could this be done...I wouldn't mind doing all the work eg contacting them etc...just thought I should run it by you first.

No word yet on this..I'm assuming there are some implications of aproaching PP and using the Boards name which I wouldn;t be comfortable with doing without the say-so of those on high :pac:

I could however start a tournament that we pay for...all I have to do is set up a tournament and all deposits and winnings are paid through the PP site. Tenner a head? Be interested in seeing how many people could enter as I'm not sure there's be much point if less than say ten entered. It asks for people's email address to invite them..was hoping it would just be a code that I could post up here so people could join at will. If anyone's interested let me know on here by say this weekend and I could collect email addreses and send invites to start weekend after next ie 13th

    Definitely up for it!

Whats the score as far as getting permission to use the boards.ie name for a sponsored tourny?

I have been told I can run it by PP first to see would they actually be interested. I've actually had a reply from PP and it seems like they are up for this although as I thought I think they want someone who is not just a member. Looks like €500 could be in the kitty. Will update tomorrow if they reply.

Sounds great, the soccer forum will undoubtedly get involved. There will be about 400+ participants. Will it be free entry or do we still have to pay €10?

The guy in PP forwarded me a mail from some girl who wrks there and she mentioned free or we can top it up - think they were wondering what kind of business it would bring in. No word from them today

PP got back to me today. They want someone from Boards to "sign off" on it I suppose. Apparently they have some affiltiates programme and are willing to offer €500 for starters. Could be a few freebies out of this if it goes ahead. I've passed on to a mod and we'll see where it goes.

Keep us updated mate, I'd more than likely be interested too.

With 3 games left what is the point, there'll be 1000's of people left when the season ends?

I think its their way of marketing for next season. If you are still in it til the seasons end you stay in it the start of next season.Your past picks remain the same next seaon plus you get the 3 promoted sides.Better then paying for it next season

Good thinking, im still sick i didnt win it a few weeks back, down to 5 people and west ham lost at home to someone pretty handy :(

I entered free one on paddy power few weeks back, around 2500 in it originally, into week 8 now 313 left. €1,000 for the winner. May have to go with Bolton this weekend (at home to pompey) so I could be on my way out!! The only teams i'd have any confidence in this weekend have all been used! Must enter that other free one too.

Most poeple would use up the Big 4 + Spurs + City at the start just to make sure they last. Then it's a question of finding a team that will win out of the liks of Everton, Villa, Fulham, etc.
When it gets to the likes of the Portsmouth, Burnley, Hulls of this world, you're in the lap of the Gods.

Bolton two up at half-time, looking good! If they hold on, I'll be through to week nine, having used bolton fulham villa everton spurs liverpool city and sunderland. So will still have united chelsea and arsenal to use (and my draw!) Just nervous about chelsea this weekend, i think they'll miss terry throwing himself at everything against a physical stoke team, they are missing their entire first choice back four, i wouldn't be even slightly surprised if stoke get a draw (queue a 4 or 5 goal hammering!!)
