When will the football semi final draw be held?

i think tomorrow evening i doubt the re fixture of the KIB v lissycasey game will be played any time soon though , so if right was right the championship should be extended a few weeks

How good are miltown? Before this weekend I heard that clondegad were gonna be the first big test in 2 years and by all accounts they killed them in the first half and had too much know how against the breeze to make a game of it in the seco half

at the moment they are still the team to beat , cratloe close second , clondegad is gary brennans team , they also have a number of hurlers from the clare panel likes of paul flanagen and tony kelly so fitness would be no problem for them either , they got off to a good start leading by 6 points at half time with a strong wind , clondegad had a number of goal chances which could have tested the outcome but truth is , cooraclare was there first test and they hammered them todays conditions were poor , and the still were too good for there opponents if you ask me as county champions they look like they have improved on last year

one black mark against them is graham kelly , he should have been sent off shortly after coming on as a sub when he kicked shane brennan his former clare team mate on the ground in the face , its about time his club did the honorable thing at this stage , colm collins wont play him again for clare after he stood on a kildare player in the division 3 final , he is a pure disgrace to clare football

county board have carried on with the draw for the semi finals of the championship , surely they cant be in that much of a hurry , i highly doubt there were too many members from lissycasey present , no dates been fixed as of yet and they should be no hurry either with the remaining 1/4 final

Miltown v cratloe could be a cracking match. Hopefully some decent weather so a good attacking game can take place.

The Munster club championship is down for the 30th of October so they have a week or two to play with.

Paul Kinnerk officially with the Limerick setup for next year - http://clareherald.com/2016/09/kinnerk-to-depart-clare-management-for-limerick-role/

Best of luck to him. Made a huge contribution to Clare hurling.

County board meeting tonight. Rumour has it some clubs want a vote on whether to persist with the current hurling management. ....interesting to see if joe cooney allows them the time of day. ...

I guess we won't hear of anything till the Champion comes out on Thursday. Haven't seen anything on Twitter

I know Eire og had a motion about carrying out a review of all management teams but I'm not sure if that's going ahead as it absolutely should happen.

Fixtures for national leagues came out today too. Going to be a tall order for the footballers I think.

    Football: Hurling:
    Derry (a) Cork (a)
    Down (h) Kilkenny (h)
    Galway (a) Tipp (a)
    Cork (h) Dublin (h)
    Fermanagh (a) Waterford (h)
    Kildare (a)
    Meath (h)

Sure this should have been done weeks ago so that if a new management team is in place, they can then view the county championship games.
Standard that the Clare board have no liathroidí.

wouldnt worry too much about the footballers , i would expect them to win one of the away games and two home against maybe down and meath i feel the work that has gon in over the last couple of years has put them ahead of a number of them teams

if fitx is still in charge of the hurlers well then he will badly need to change tactics to avoid a relegation playoff , waterford and kilkenny will be great games to have at home but under current tactics we will struggle to beat them wins against dublin at home and cork away are crucial for any sort of progress , tipperary is always a great game to look forward to so again hopeefully the penny will have dropped with either county board or current management to change things otherwise this could be a very long league campaign

at least Eire og had the balls to look for change last night but all we can do now is hope the dubs take him off our hands before October

    So hurling quarters this weekend.

    Tones v feakle
    Ballyea v crusheen
    Clonlara v tulla
    Eire og v cratloe.

Going to go with tones, ballyea, clonlara and cratloe (unfortunetly)

Think Wolfe tones will just have enough to go past feakle and will have gained huge confidence from the bridge game. Ballyea have a lot more youth in their side and o donnell is missing for crusheen so hard to see where they will get a lot of scores from. Clonlara should have too much all round the field for tulla and win by 6-7 points.

Game of the weekend should and hopefully will be Eire og v cratloe. So much firepower in both sides forwards. The individual match ups will be crucial. Keeping mcgraths contribution below 5/6 points will be key for us while utilising SOD against the older cratloe full back line to get our own scores. Think it will be quite tight and maybe cratloes experience will just shade it. Hopefully not though.

A draw in the senior relegation playoff between Newmarket and kilmaley.
15 points a piece and goes to a replay which seems a bit ridiculous. Surely should just go to extra time just like all the other games are.

Clonlara beat tulla 15 points to 12 in the first quarter final. Not as convincing a win for clonlara as I thought it would be.

I've no problem with it going to a replay, it's not as if it's holding anything up, dropping from senior will be a big drop for either team so only fair that they get another chance at it.

Ballyea win very comfortably in the end 1-18 to 13 points.

We're 7 points to 1 down during the first half but went 1-8 without reply till half time.

ballyea were impressive at times , dont know what happened after the 15th minute to crusheen it looked like they were going to run away with it , what are the chances of gary brennan and pearse lillis swapping to hurling next year both got some excellent scores , one plus/minus against ballyea is there over reliance on tony , if he is contained it usually ends in one result , today he was'nt and he was there top scorer again as a result

clonlara still dont look like they are in any better position then last year to win the championship , they were poor at times again today with the big turning point being david mc's missed penalty and darragh corry missing the rebound hitting the side netting , to be fair to tulla they themselves didnt play anywhere near there best either

i feel the winners of the "main event " in tomorrows double header in the park will have a real say in the wining and losing of the championship , no shortage of subs on either side with 35 Cratloe and 36 Eire Og players named on the program for tomorrows game

So Podge has indicated that he will only play one sport next year but declined to say which one. Big blow to whichever code he chooses not to participate in.

Also seen this online this morning.
How true it is remains to be seen but I was also told that 3/4 hurlers are planning on travelling next year so might miss the championship.

It's common knowledge that there'll be a lot of players heading off on J1s this year, this group of players are on the road a long time (minors in 2010) and haven't had a summer off. I wouldn't blame any lad for heading off, especially guys only on the squad, ffs they aren't even getting a game in challenges at this stage.

That makes horrible reading, but why am I surprised?:pac:

Well from what is just witnessed in this match, feakle would definitely be worth a punt.

Dire stuff so far especially from us. No point from play playing with the breeze. Cratloe haven't been that much better to be fair but just have all around better hurlers.

**** it anyway. Threw it away. Davy missed a glorious goal chance when we were on top and that could have seen us go on and win. Also missed three handy enough points midway through second half.

Cratloes greater experience then kicked in and showed great composure under pressure.

Competition is wide open really and while we had cratloe under serious problems at times its hard to see past them winning it.

several wides in a row after the goal with about ten minutes to go didnt help either , young team Eire og they wont be too far away in the next few years , lets face it no one at the start of the year expected them to do as well as they have plenty to be pleased about and plenty to look forward to in the near future for the townies

as for the remaining championship , i have my doubts about ballyea , i even have doubts over clonlara so the draw will be interesting tomorrow night , feakle are playing with great confidence while cratloe have another double in there heads so they would probably be favorites for the moment

Ya the wides were a killer alright. We're completely on top at that point and had them rattled a bit but just couldn't put the scores on the board. Absence of a couple of lads who have had to go to college in America didn't help the squad depth either. As you say though, plenty to be optimistic about but with us you never know what next year could bring.

    Semi final draw

    Ballyea v feakle
    Cratloe v clonlara

Pity that second one wasn't saved for the final. Could and should be a cracker with the class of personnel involved.

Other one is a massive opportunity for either team to get to the final. The draw has been quite kind to ballyea all year and should have the overall class to go through.

Great game in store between Cratloe and Clonlara. If Cratloes double is still on after the Semi finals of both football and hurling where they face two serious tests then they have to be considered the best set of club players ever in Clare
