Speedball is basically a really fast paced game of paintball and its played in a small field with obsticals instead of in a forest with bushes and stuff...look it up on youtube

Gatling

check the news thread paint filled bbs closest thing you'll get ,
but AIRSOFT AND PAINTBALL are 2 separate species ,

somethings just arent meant to be mixed

Cheeky monkey

Yeah, I think I was in that game too, it's fun but... The novelty wears off after a bit. Part of what's fun about airsoft is the not running about like headless chickens, I know I'm not alone in that. That's a big part of what attracted me to airsoft in the first place.

I think in airsoft you'll get the same with a pistols-only game in a CQB area. In fact, we basically did this in G-Tac at one of the Gatherings, in the CQB area.

Play at an indoor cqb site, it's fairly fast paced and also has slightly more realism aspect which is the main thing that differs paintball from airsoft afterall

the problem is that airsoft guns are far more accurate than paintball so speedball is a very relative term. play in the warehouse your gonna run your nuts off on dual assault / king of the hill your gonna get shot soooo often it becomes more a war of atrition than a game.

Hav eto correct you there. I played paintball seriously for a number of years, and what has to be remembered that rental guns and owner guns are two completely different animals. A well maintaned marker is incredibly more accurate then an airsoft rifle, granted to say, wherever my crosshairs were aimed a paintball would hit it.

I remember playing speedball and its a highly skilled game. Its pure aggresion in a game ( good agression) pure attack and how fast you can paint a target( aim). However, i felt speedball got very individual and a sense of team play was lost. The woodland paintball was alot more tactical.

Then again, I sometimes could easily identify speedball with airsoft, they are not too different things. Where airsoft differs is the tactics that are used. Airsoft tries to minic realism. Paintball was pretty much makey up on the spot.

Most weekend skirmishes you go to, there is very little tactical prowess or usage, thats how i feel .Granted some days there is great tactics used, but most of the time there isnt. These days, are strikingly similar to speedball and normal rental paintball.

As much as i like aggression and attacking airsoft, I find airsoft comes into its own when it is slower paced, and moving around building to building. Sometimes you can see me make massive dashes and firing on the fly, its the old paintball dog in me, its what i did best.

Speedball airsoft wouldnt work properly. Granted an alternative cuold be made, but with such inacuracies in airsoft guns, i dont think it would work.

Plaing in the warehouse properly for example, is the closest thing. When I say properly, i mean actually moving in and out weaving and going fast paced, not sitting in a corner camping.

Why not ask your question in the paintball section?
