When i try and start up my ps3 i get the above message. Its used to only happen once in a blue moon but it is becoming more frequent and today it took me half an hour to get it on and then it was running very sluggish. I took out the HD and put it back in firmly but that doesnt seem to have helped. Anyone else have this problem?

Either the hard drive is out(Which it isn't) or there are pins missing from the data transfer part.

Compare yours to this picture (Cant find one)

After a bit of googling / wikiing I think there should be 44 pins. Not entirely sure. Maybe more maybe less

SOunds like your hard drive is dying, and will soon be dead, back it up so if it does go you can restore your save games etc

Yeah, I was gonna suggest bad sectors, or HDD on the way out.

Especially if its happening more and more frequently.

Lots of hard drives online that you can buy for cheap if not in warranty
