Tarabuses wrote: » I cancelled my Setanta subscription in September by phone and subsequently by post. I received 3 confirmations by phone and a letter all stating that my account would be cancelled on 4th November. All came to pass when I noted that the two Setanta programmes were no longer available early on the morning of the 4th. You can understand my surprise, therefore, when I saw a charge from Setanta on my credit card on 5th November for €101.33 (I had been paying €9.99 at the time of cancellation). On contacting my credit card company they arranged a three way call with Setanta to find out the reason for the charge. It appears that Setanta did not cancel my multiroom account (for which I wasn't being charged at the time of cancellation) and I was now being charged an annual subscription for that box. They agreed to cancel the charge but said that it would take up to 28 days for this credit to appear om my credit card account. So now, almost 2 months after cancelling, I must wait another 28 days to find out if I am rid of Setanta for good. The time that has been wasted with them is unbelievable. During the course of my conversation with my credit card company I realised that there is nothing I can do to stop Setanta making further charges. I have given them authority to charge my account forever, it would seem, an authority I cannot cancel unless I close the credit card account, which I am seriously considering.
