Hitting Girls, right or wrong?

With all the calls for equal rights and no discrimination, isn;t it odd that we're all brought up to not hit girls. As kids we're all told "Don;t hit girls, its bad" or some such line.

Personally, i'm from category 4, i'd never hit a girl. I might wrestle with them, but carefully. Am i one of the few "old-fashined" people in this respect, or am i among the majority?

That's right Sinecure, sorry utility_ I'll try to be more accurate in future.

If you need to punch or hit a woman for self-defence you aren't much of a man, after growing up with older sisters the only thing to do if they get violent is to just bear hug em till they calm down a bit. Anyway with all these bloody self defence classes around you'd probably get your arse handed to you.

Also Pink Bunny I'm curious what 5 letter word did the filter cut out that describes the male member?

You forget, plenty of women out there have gone past the point of wanting equality, they want superiority and tbh, in a lot of ways (including the issue of men not hitting women) they now have it. Women have become the dominant sex in society.

When I was a kid I did Tae Kwon Do for a few years and the most vicious kicking I got in the whole time I was there was from a girl. Granted, she didn't win the fight, but neither did I, we both half killed each other. Aside from that one incident and hitting my sister as a kid (which was very rare, I prefer verbal sparring, I'm better at it :P) I've never struck a woman in anything other than a playful manner such as gently slapping a girlfriend on the arm/arse etc. That said, if some girl decides she wants a piece of me, I'll react. Probably not in the same way as I would with another guy, but at the very least she'll get thrown to the ground and warned to stay there.

Ahaha, you skanky females have shown your true colours. You want equal pay and the vote, but when it comes to putting your dukes up and paying for the consequences of your actions you're quite happy to revert to the role of the weaker/fairer sex who shouldn't be touched. You shouldn't hit anyone without good cause. I'd define good cause as self-defence, but I could see other circumstances in which I could feel so aggrieved that I might consider violence. Don't know if a woman could provoke me in this way though. It should be possible for men to overpower/subdue women who are attacking them, but if that wasn't possible I'd give that skank the beatdown she deserves.

I'm all for equality and being nice to women, but if someone were to attack me, gender is irrelavent. I'll defend myself as much as I need to, and if that means punching a girl, so be it. That said, I'm very much a pacifist anyway, and my life would probably have to be in danger before I'd react with force to anyone, male or female.

I do have quite the chivalrous streak, but it's tempered by common sense.

Equality in this case should be Don't hit girls OR boys, as opposed to it's ok to hit both. Essentially, it's etiquette. Having said that, if a girl hit me a wallop on purpose and in anger, I'd return the favour.

In general I would try to avoid hitting anyone at all... If I was pushed, and it takes alot, i would hit a girl... However it would be one ****ed up bust up, cant forsee myself ever doing it though...

Women are by far weaker, smaller and lighter than most men (yhe chap here who said that women are equal in strength and sometimes stronger, mustn't know alot of women or be pretty ****ing weak). So in my opinion, hitting someone who is all of the above is an act of cowardice, merely an ego trip for men of low self esteem who feel they need to boost it by hitting people when they know they can get away with it. Obviously if your life is in danger this changes things entirely, but other than that, despite all the absolute bull**** ye people are spouting "Women want equal rights so we should be able to hit them the same as men" etc. it's still not acceptable.
