Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What I'd like to see are some cool Metroid/Megaman influenced platformers, or some Sonic influenced platformers. Nothing too cutesy or overly simplistic though.

Haven't tried it since, so don't know if the beta client works with the new release.

Is all the in-game text in Dutch as well? I'll probably still download it later anyway but it'd be nice to know what I'm letting myself in for :)

Nope, that 4th link is an English version installer, I think the second link is an English zip file too.
    SPOILT FOR CHOICE!

I discovered this free PC First Person Shooter game recently titled WarRock and it's quite good, if you like Counter Strike/DoD, Quake3 UrbanTerror, Soldier of Fortune 2, Battlefield. then I'm sure you'll like this. The quality is quite good, there are 4 gameplay modes, FFA, Bomb planting/defusal, Team deathmatch with flag capture points and finally Battlefield 32 player style maps with vehicles. Minimum PC requirements are P3 800(or AMD), 512ram, 32mb video card, Windows ME / 2000 / XP. I'm pleasantly surprised at how addictive and fun this game is and I consider myself an FPS veteran since Quake 1. Almost forgot, for so much game content it's surprising it's only a 600mb file. I highly recommend you check it out, you won't have wasted your time.

disclaimer: now just like many online PC games there are cheaters(eventhough it runs PunkBuster) so don't get frustrated and quit cus you'll always find plenty of servers with proper gamers.

    Here's the official western(english) site:
    http://www.warrock.net/basic_training.php?page=1
Here's wikipedia info about the game:

    http://www.kongregate.com/games/TheWaste/bot-arena-3

fun game where you build robot things to fight in an arena. more strategy than action as your control of them while they are actually in the arena is limited.

will possibly keep you amused for one play through till you get the ultimate weapon ( It looks silly :)) but i doubt you'll be bothered going through it again, although there is some sort of multiplayer option if your not behind a company firewall.

WEEWAR I have only just joined this game recently. It is a really good turn based strategy game.

If you click the request invite button and put in your email address it will send an invite out to you within a few minutes.

Here's four medium length free adventure games in the style of Indiana Jones or monkey island (Lucas Arts circa 1990-94).

I'd Highly recommend all of them, not just for the gameplay but for originality, scripting and ingenuity.

All of them are made by Ben 'Yahtzee' Croshaw and are hosted on his website www.fullyramblomatic.com

    No.1 Five Days a Stranger http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/5days/

    No.2 Seven Days a Skeptic http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/7days/

    No.3 Trilby's Notes http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/notes/

    No.4 6 Days a Sacrifice http://www.fullyramblomatic.com/6days/

All are excellent except Trilby's notes, which is still quite good.

Good catch Jack - Nice to get these all together in a bunch - I did briefly try 5 days a stranger - I'd recommend them - pretty good! Still running through Zork II - so someday will get back to these. Yup.

telepath chapter 2 on newgrounds.com is a flash-based stategic rpg with a grid-based fighting system similar to final fantasy tactics. It is surprisingly good for a lash game of this type, and has a working save/load function. Played it compulsively until I finished it in a few days. The only criticism which I had was that there seemed to be a huge jump in difficulty near the end, which unless I missed something, required a lot of repetitive leveling to get past, or switching the game to 'easy' difficulty (I opted for the latter approach).
The premise is very good imo (you are a telepathic human who has had your memory wiped and enslaved by the shadowlings, who make you fight on their side in their war against humans, but the plot thins as the game goes on. The main thing about it is the fighting system really.

cool, sounds like an ideal way to kill the last hour in the quetest day i have ever seen in this kip. There is only about 6 other people on the entire floor, its like a ghosttown, im expecting a zombie movie to break out any minute.

    Thanks PWD

I came across a game called Dwarf Fortress recently. A virtual world is randomly created and you can populate it with Dwarven adventurers and create a fortress. It's a big tough to get the hang of but if you're into strategy games I would say it's worth a look.

Sauerbraten - think Quake 3 meets Serious Sam. Not bad at all for a free/open source game.

I've only tried it single player for the moment, but it has multiplayer. Tip: "One Man Army" mode is like Serious Sam, with hordes of enemies rushing at you :D
