Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I can't actually sit on a bus with my legs closed.. There just isn't enough room..

  • Registered Users Posts: 656 ✭✭✭chickenhawk

Even as a guy I hate guys who do that. As the guys who I live with know if they do this they get a kick in the sac!

Em, how can I put this delicately? The laws of physics, perhaps?

Ever put two eggs in a trouser press?

What I can't fathom is those "men" who sit with their legs crossed? How in the name of bejasus do you do that without serious injury?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,960 ✭✭✭DarkJager

It all depends on the ball size ladies, something you wouldn't understand. We have to keep our legs wide to prevent the loss of children to "scrotal overheating" and of course for the better endowed of us, to stop the pants from splitting ;)

I find that if I stare at their crotch with a horrified expression they get selfconscious and close up.

depending on the seat on the bus, i dont have enough space to sit any other way.....but you can always feel free to sit on my lap :pac:

Tom - i sit with my legs crossed from time to time, actually quite comfortable, the meat and veg just tend to find the requisite space. Just dont cross them too quickly

[rant]There was actually a GIRL doing that to me today on the bus, I was hanging off the edge, and there she was with her legs open as wide as the Liffey. Then the lads with their sports bags were hitting me in the head with them, People on the bus in general anger me. Then there was a scrap, and all on a single decker bus in rush hour traffic. [/rant]

Yeah I cross my legs sometimes - things just slide into position.

The legs wide open thing can sometimes by thanks to the tinyness of the bus seats - cant exactly fit my knees quite in :P

Like others have said, i can't sit on a bus with my legs straight, that, and the obvious "room" that, er, Mr. James Westphal and Dr. Kenneth Noisewater need down there.

No matter how slowly I do that, I always find His Lordship and the Two Servants complain somewhat. It's not that I am particularly endowed, I think I have fat thighs strong, muscular loins.

Tend to need a bit of space between my legs myself, but I have to agree with the OP in that the amount of lads who sit with their legs at full 90 degree spread, don't know who they think they're kidding but no one's stupid enough to believe they're that well endowed.
Do oft feel like delivering a swift punch to the balls just to make them stop demanding so much space on seats that just aren't meant to cater for that level of egotism.

Really? How unfortunate. Try a new perfume.

I find that I am always conscious of other passengers on the train and make sure to keep to my own personal space. Even if it means The Servants are under a little duress.

    Or a saggy scrotum ?

Maybe you need one of these ?

What ya need is baggy jeans...plenty of ball room and no danger of accidentally strangling the soldier if you move too fast.

I'll tell ya something....ye women have it easy ;):D

Never encountered the anti-ginger thing til I moved within the confines of the Pale... must be a West Brit Dublin phenomenon.

*Infects the thread with ginge, a la Darkplace*

i can't sit normally on bus seats that have normal legroom, have to actually sit with my legs accross the seat next to me's legroom............sorry......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,746 ✭✭✭✭Galvasean

When I'm on public transport I'm usually reading a Bret Easton Ellis novel so people avoid sitting beside me so in theory I can spread 'em as much as I want.
However the sex scenes in BEE's books are quite frequent and well written (much unlike those pornos I discussed in the other thread) so opened legness is not particularly wise. :o

I would have thought it made it kind of necessary ...

... does for me anyway! >_>

It's not physically possible, at least not for me. The buses don't have enough legroom and even if they did it wouldn't be comfortable.

I'm only 6' 2", and I can't keep my thighs straight in front of me on most buses. I have no idea how taller people manage. My knees can't go through the seat in front of me!

I know the feeling. 6'4 and there are seats that I need not bother attempting because of legroom, particularly the older buses.

Often left to stand when there are those seats available making me stand out like an idiot. Then my head hits the roof downstairs over every bump...Hmmph, the things we have to do in this life..:(

I'm also unable to sit on a bus. Still, beats being short. :pac:

When you need to look after a pair of nuts, come back to us as you will fully understand.

The space available on public transport is simply not enough for me to sit in with my legs straight.

I'll make as much room for people as i can, but at the end of the day i am a pretty big guy, when i'm sitting on the outside seat on the luas my shoulder protrudes about half way into the aisle.

Not my fault they build PT for midgets.

I'm 5'11 and I cant sit with my legs straight either. I also usually whack my head every now and again on the lights upstairs on the older double deckers.

If I were 3 inches smaller, my life would be easier. Ah well, such is life.

It annoys the feck out of me, hence why I always sit beside a woman if possible. Plus they smell better.

If any of you are the middleaged man who has recently started sitting beside me on the bus home (no matter how many other seats are free), well I'm watching you! You creep me out and shoving your elbows in my side again will result in me screaming at you.

this happened to me this morning with a tall lanky guy.

i nearly had a ****ing michael douglas in falling down moment as he basically made me sit on one square inch of seat. didn't help either that there was other lanky person behind who was digging their knees into the back of the seat rocking the seat forwards and backwards.

Eh be happy yis get seats, you don't like the person beside you then move elsewhere or stand. Don't throw hissy fits cos someone is too close to you, you don't know the meaning of too close 'til you're squished between 5 people and can't even scratch your nose cos your arms are pinned to your side.

Theres a guy who sits beside me everyday even if there are loads of other seats free too. He smells so incredibly bad. I've had to get up and move several times, for fear of vomiting.

yep... if you mean going south from town

thought the letter in the metro today was funny, story about old woman and tall guy bashing legs and not happy with each other, but then they end up hugging and some sort of hugging orgy with a few people starts on the train.... can't be a true story

There's a creep who does exactly the same to me, every single time, right down to the elbow thing! Does he have long scraggly hair by any chance?
