Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looks like it's going to be a proper debate anyway.

Jesus we almost have tears already.

Letting the audience ask questions is a bad idea from the outset.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,745 ✭✭✭Eliot Rosewater

The usual Frontline problem rearing it's ugly head - too much time spent on people in the audience who are irrelevant instead of the party leaders who we all want to see.

Pat sounded awful patronising to Enda there.

Enda's gonna stick to the script, irrespective of the question!

Funnily enough this should be the perfect question for Gilmore, while Labours policies are somewhat misguided, they have the best social principles.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,876 ✭✭✭deelite

Gilmore has to stop sticking his tounge out whilst speaking.

His children moved to another country to get away from their boring da

In fairness, they did it well in the British BBC debate: Dimblebey called on the audience member, they smartly read out their pre-approved concise question, and sat down. I thought it was nice as it gave a personal touch to the debate, without the audience time wasting we will no doubt be seeing a lot tonight on Frontline.

Pat Kenny to Gilmore: "Give us something tangible from here" [Taps his heart]

What sort of crap is this? Is the Frontline always like this? Not sure I can take 90 minutes if so.

    Nice soundbite from Gerry.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,876 ✭✭✭deelite

Gormley has to stop speaking with his hands.

  • Registered Users Posts: 368 ✭✭Lame Lantern

Oh good, I was hoping the format of this debate would be gormless morons from the public asking meaningless, emotive questions that prompt politicians to repeat sections from speeches they gave 2 months ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,500 ✭✭✭ReacherCreature

These leaders need to be far more concise in their statements. Too much irrelevance and Kenny needing to cut them out.

have you ever noticed that Enda Kenny speaks without opening his mouth??

  • Registered Users Posts: 368 ✭✭Lame Lantern

More RTE bending over backwards to accomodate Fine Gael. This is not a "debate" by any traditional definition of debate. Kenny's not going to have to defend any policies here. What a waste of time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,876 ✭✭✭deelite

If the audience don't like the answer can they ask for the lads to clarify better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,374 ✭✭✭InReality

martin , " and so on like that"
    pulling out the soundbite.
not a good answer yet ..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,745 ✭✭✭Eliot Rosewater

Okay, this is obviously going to be a crap programme. I want to hear the party leaders, not some randomer dragged in off the street. At least TV3 got one thing right - we got to listen to the people we tuned in to listen to.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,070 ✭✭✭pjmn

Way too disjointed - audience - then Pat implements the 45 second rule - hard to watch or get a flow from same...
