Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yep tis us it was :) I was in the Mazda MX5 / EUNOS as couldnt get Stag out of garage today. To bloody lazy to be honest. Yes that charger is something else!!
Also very curious as to whats under the bonnet of the black Morris Minor?

Nice little show alright and nice to be able to haggle with the lads selling the tools, landing buying things I didnt really need.

Nice little car the MX5 but not at the races with the Stag or TR's at all IMO! As for the stalls I bought a 'Drive It Like You Stole It' plate for the Ma who is in a wheelchair due to severe arthritis but will see the funny side of it and wear it proudly!

Yes the MX5 is a super little car and my wife loves it, i enjoy it the odd time i get to drive, held its own against the TR's today which i surprised me, but I do understand what you are saying.

As for the sign you bought and for who, I do hope she see's the funny side of it as it is very funny.

Super car and what a job, often you see work in photos and is not anywhere near as good as the photo makes it out to be, when you see it in real life.

That 127 Sports is magic and the paint finish wow !!

Would love contact details for the sprayer as I need a MGB GT painted once all the body work has been rectified and sorted on it. But its a dark blue not as bad as black to get right but in there.

That Sports reminds me of one we had when new same colour etc and very fond memories of it, I think i posted a photo on one of the threads, reg was 900 MZE.

Hi okistag, I'm sorry to say there is not much chance of him painting for anyone. I used to work with him and am also related to him, that is the only reason he did it for me. Sorry. There is one lad I know who is supposed to be very good, but I havn't seen any of his work yet. If you are interested I could get a number.

Thanks, and it's nice to be made to feel welcome. This is the first show that the car has been at, although it did win first place for best presented car in a run 5 or 6 weeks ago.

I love 127 Sports, makes me laugh to hear young lads harping on about rev happy VTEC Hondas when Fiat were getting the Sport to redline at 7200 on a single cam, distibutor with points and a twin choke Weber carb, back in 1978:D

Yes, they made great engines back then, they would go for ever and give little or no trouble but it's a pity the bodywork wasn't up to the same standard.

I hope so, with new bonnet, wings, doors, quarter panels and back panel and a good second hand boot lid. About 7 or 8 tins of schutz underneath and 5 or 6 litres of cavity wax anywhere I could get it into I hope it will last for a good few years more.

I saw my grandparents' Kadett D ('82 or '83, I forget) in South Africa:

    kadett1.jpg
    kadett2.jpg
    kadett3.jpg
    kadett4.jpg

This would have been assembled locally by GMSA in Port Elizabeth. The reflectors underneath the bumpers (white on front, red on rear) were a requirement in the country at the time, I only saw them on '80s cars so I guess they gave up on them at some stage.

There were loads of other old cars around there, sorry I didn't take more pics! There was a Rover SD1 and Renault 9 just up from my grandparents' house, at least two other Kadett D's in the town, many Kadett E's (saloon was sold as the Monza there), Ford Sierras (3.0 V6's of course ), Cortinas (even a Mk. III pickup), Mk. 2 Granadas, Mk. 2/3 Escorts (and older Bantams which were pickup versions of the Mk. 3), many E70, E80 and E90 Corollas (no Carinas though :D), Toyota Cressidas, Nissan Sentras (B12 Sunny and N14 Pulsar), Nissan Skyline R31 saloons, W123s and W124s, VW Beetles, T2 and T3 kombis, and I'm sure there's loads more I'm forgetting.

There's also a lot of anachronistic cars there, e.g.:
    - VW Golf Mk. 1, built there until last year as the Citigolf and later Citi
    - Toyota Tazz, the Corolla E90 ('87-'92) hatchback built until 2006 (was facelifted at some point with a front end a bit like the JDM E110 Corolla, also they seemed to skip the E100 Corolla there completely)
    - Mazda 323 BF ('85-'89), sold there until 2003 (this kept the 323 name while newer models were sold alongside as the Mazda Etude)
    - Nissan 1400 Bakkie, based on the B120 Sunny Truck (launched 1971) and produced until 2008

The brake 'button' on these always makes me smile. Still.considering the age of the car,its still relitively modern inside it.

Most Citroen's with the hydropneumatic suspension can't be clamped when in the down position.

Was visiting the parents today and saw this in their underground car park when I was leaving.
At first I thought it was a capri then saw it was too small and thought it must be an Alfa or Fiat as it had a very italian look to it...then I saw the VW badge on the front !?!

I was chatting to the guy who owned it while he was waiting for a jump start and he was telling me that they were only ever made for Brazil for the local market.

A lot nicer than than Karmann Ghia's I think !

Anyone enough talk, here's the photos (sorry about the picture quality, iphone and underground car park lighting dont go well together) :

Thats about as nice a collection of cars as I have seen OKI.

The white ZY reg Triumph interests me, i saw it on a road run about 15 years ago. It is from my home County, Louth.
I wonder does the owner read these threads, I would love to know who the original owner was.
My older brother had a friend who had one, but whether it is or not....

    Regards Rugbyman
