Well currently I think its student wardens most of the time except tuesday and thursday nights (except RAG week of course). I often would just see the warden wander round outside every so often on tuesdays and thursday and really all he does is let people in that get locked out or deal with complaints (which is the only time he ever enters an apt).

Nope there is a laundry (on the ground floor near the car park entrance) that has say maybe 7ish of each washers and dryers. I know it's a pain not having one in each apt but it's not too bad. Tokens only cost €2 for dry and €3 for wash and can be gotten in the Centra next door anytime (handy when it's the weekend and the office is closed). In the two years I've used the laundry here, no one has ever touched any of my stuff and never heard of anyones elses either.

No worries, glad to help. Current residents can book until the 4th March so I'd check the website or give the office a buzz to see when they are taking bookings to new residents.

Edit: Thought of a negative, the internets not wireless! But theres a network were all residents can share stuff if they want, quite handy for tv shows, movies, music, etc.

I would not recommend farranlea to anyone. I lived there two years and management were hell and forget deposits.

Vic Mills is right beside the new western gate building which has a bridge over to brookefield so i'd say take you not much more than 5 mins to get over there from here. Village is like 5ish mins down the road from here then.

I'm going into first year UCC engineering next year and thinking about Riverside or Monastery Hill, does anbody know anything about either?

Some of them will and some will make you wait till the few days that the place will be empty between the college year tenants and the summer ones. But sure you might as well go and ask or give them a phone call.

Theres no harm in adding yourself to the waiting list in either Vic Mills/Uni Hall, they both get a lot of cancellations every year and normally alot of the those on the waiting list end up getting in.

As regards finding an alternative to the above, a house is an obvious choice. There a many pros and cons to the Student Accomodation complexes, however, having lived in one for 3 years, I'm sick to the teeth of them!

Castlewhite. Right beside UCC, a 15 minute walk to bus station, bus from right outside accom. to town

Just doing my application now.....does anybody know the difference between studio, standard and deluxe rooms? its not explained on the website.

Been living here the past few years - a deluxe room is extra - comes with a double bed and a tv in your room, while I'd love a double bed it's not worth the extra cost. Studio room - no idea tbh afaik it's either a normal room or deluxe so don't know whats going on there!

Noel can be a pain in the hole alright but I disagree with the post above me - the place isn't exactly falling down - I know they've been slow to fix things from time to time but if you've an issue with anything they'll sort it out eventually, Ger who works in the office is dead on and very approachable.

As for the heaters not being on during the summer - that's bóllix I'd say, was working perfectly in A block where I was staying not that I needed to use it much!
