    thanks Tiny, CK & Tubbydave....

I have WI tomorrow and short of falling asleep right now and staying asleep until tomorrows WI with a vibrobelt attached to my belly I can honestly say I am going to be up.

I am like you TinyPenguin, I totally need a kick in the backside and a shove back onto the wagon. I have a hens in May and I have ordered the hens gear in a size 10-12.... so i have to get the aul backside in gear and back on the wagon. I am just about in a size 12 now. 14 too big and 12 just that little bit too tight.

I feel a lot better knowing that its not just me thats feeling demotivated this week. It makes me feel like less of a failure... Im determined not to fall off the wagon this time. Thanks folks!

It's not easy ali but you're doing so great so stay with us here eh? The more on the wagon the merrier!! :D I'm fairly nervous of the scales myself today but I figure whats life without the ups and downs! In this case we're all looking for more down's than up's but you get my drift. :)

    Hi all,

I have another question! I have just realized that I may have been overpointing myself over the past few weeks. Can someone confirm something for me please? If I make a dish that totals 4 pp but I get about 4-5 servings out of it, how do I point it? I have been pointing 4pp every time I have a serving but I don't think that's correct. Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Oh, also, I have just discovered something so delicious and low in points for a snack! Rvita now do black pepper crackers. They're less points than cream crackers and so much tastier. They come in little packs of 6 crackers, inside the main box, and 6 of them point at 4pp. They're delicious with low low cream cheese on as a snack. Nom!

If the total recipe equals 4 - then you divide that by the number of servings it is. So a total recipe =4pp but you get 4 servings then each serving is worth 1. Dont forget to round up for the pp, anything 0.5 of a pp or over best to count as 1

    Hey everyone :)

Hope ye had a lovely weekend.. I was down another 0.5lb today :P seems to be all I lose lately but its all in the right direction.. Sunday morning I went running (that can be read as a slow jog maybe a brisk walk hehe) and using them outdoor gyms for adults in the park in between laps felt great about it and helped me feel less guilty about the big bbq we had Sunday evening was such a lovely summery feel to it hehe and hopefully we get a few more of them evenings :)

Anyway Just finished my soup and roll and having a knorr season and shake for dinner so a good start to the week!!

Good luck to everyone weighing in!! :)

    Lads and Ladies,

Can anyone tell me, when you reach goal and you have to maintain it for a week to get your goldcard. Do you have to maintain the weight you're at or just stay below goal?

Hope everyone had a fab weekend. xx

Hey Das Kitty, once you get goal you dont have to pay as long as you stay within 5 pounds of your goal weight at a time ! losing weight on it isn't a problem, as long as its healthy! Good luck to you, I was goal for a year and christmas/ college weight boosted me back up 10 pounds  so aiming to be back to goal by summer :D

For everyone else, just read about a fabb cravies kicker on this really great lifestyle blog called the londoner! If you freeze banana slices, whiz them up in a blender and add your choice of flavour eg cinamon and vanilla, or a heaped tbsp of choc powder for 2 or perhaps maple syrup for 2 then you get a delicious frozen dessert really similar to ice cream! add some chopped strawberries, blackberries or pineapple top and it can be a really healthy dessert or alternative to a smoothie if you dont want to waste extra points on a yogurt!

I'm trying it tonight and fingers crossed it goes well :P

Hope everyone's WIs go as planned this week! trying my first ever F&H day today and have to say I've really noticed the difference :) not nearly as much cravies or tummy rumbles :o

    xxxxxx

Would you mind posting examples of what you ate today, I want to try a F&H day because I find myself not being full enough sometimes on my 26pp, but I'm afraid to try it for fear of going ott!

I lost 1.5!! Am in total shock after how bold I was. It's given me the kick I need though, have to be super strict to keep it off next week though - am delighted.

First STS in my 11 weeks!

I feel a little disappointed as it's put a little dint in my next personal goal! OH WELL!

I used my weeklies for only alcohol in the last week so i'm putting it down to that! Did do lots of walking mind you so i'm hoping it'll show next week!

A definite kick up the bum for the next week anyway!!!!

Lost 2 and a half lbs this week! :D I'm happy with that because I was really good this week. I didn't drink any alcohol and pointed all the sweet things I had on Mother's day so I was really hoping for a loss. Only 2lbs to go to hit 2 stone loss since January 17th! Really want to try hard this week to make that goal, but TOTM is lurking around the corner so I'll just have to hope for the best. Well done everyone on the losses!

It sure is! Protein/Carb/Full Fat/Protein. If thats what your doing that's right. Are you using the wheel (grrr it drove me mad for the first week) After that I bought the calculator which was great but more often I use the iWatcher app on the phone

hey all, just wondering how do you all work out the activity points for swimming?:D

I do it the same as a walk- depends on how much I push myself in the pool though. If it's a leisurely dip, it's low intensity, and if I was 45 min in the pool, I'd count it as 30 min activity time, to account for talking, hanging out at the side of the pool etc. On the other hand, if I go in and spend 40 min proper swimming, no rests, and keeping a good pace, it would usually be 40 min, medium intensity. Hope that helps!

Hey Boop22 - i would say defo go to your class, regardless of how bad you think its going to be, at least go and see for yourself what the damage is (if any) and then work on it from there, but if you dont go to your class it will be harder to get back on the wagon (well thats how it would be for me anyway)

I'm the same - started going off the rails on sunday and havent stopped. Even though I'm being weighed tonight I still cant get back into the mindframe. Had a bigger bowl of cereal than usual for breakfast, and a rice crispie square and hot chocolate for break. My head is just melted. I am expecting a definite gain tonight, and am hoping its only a pound or 2. Its like i need a slap in the face or something to get me back into it. 16lbs since jan and i dont want it to go back on!

Girls, i'm the same but felt too ashamed to post. Was very bold at the weekend and also can't get properly back on track. Tiny, you are like my twin, I too had a cereal this morning and didn't weigh it like I usually do and had a packet of tayto for afternoon break instead of usually a WW bar or fruit :( I have also sent myself into a downward spiral of depression after stepping on my home scales. Showing a gain of 3lb. If it's not fluid retention and I see that number at WI on Thursday, I will be so upset. It's taken me 7 weeks to lose 7.5lb so gaining 3lb almost makes it not even worth while. It makes me think, why do I bother, working so hard and then going out at the weekend (which inevitably is going to happen at least once a month, I can't/don't want to become a hermit just because I want to lose weight) and then ending up back at square one.

Just a heads up if anybody is in the Swords area there is a shop called JC's and they do a lot of the WW food including the frozen chips / pizza's and loads of frozen desserts and meals.

They used to do ww chocolate digestives which were a 1pp per biscuit but they have not been in for a while :(

Does anywhere still do the cheese / sausages / ham and rasers? Dunnes used to stock a lot of the ww food but not anymore it would appear?

No problem Taz, not sure if everything counts as F&H but most of it is anyway and everything was healthy enough!

    for breakfast:
30g porridge (made with water) 3pp
125g 0& fat forest fruit activa yogurt 2pp
    chopped strawberries 0pp

    snacks:
    apple slices with lemon 0pp
    small gingernut biscuit 1pp

    lunchtime:
    lentil and vegetable soup 2pp
1/2 brown scone with tsp of jam 3pp

(i think because of the pulses present in the soup it was extra filling!)

    snack before zumba:
    frozen banana with raspberries 0pp
1/2 brown scone (with no topping) 2pp

    dinner:
chicken breast cooked with spices and scallions 4pp
steamed veg : carrots and broccolii 0pp
    brown rice portion: 6pp

Treated myself to a pack of jelly tots there was lovely way to use up final 3 points ! I think the porridge and yogurt together really helped fill me and the brown scone combined with the lentils left me craving free for a while at least! often i have tomato soup and a wheaten roll and would get hungary again around 4 o clock so this seemed to be a decent way of enjoying lunch and making it last longer!

    hope that helps!:o

Thanks a million for that EveMT, thats really interesting!
I thought with filling and healthy days ya dont count points
at all as long as its F&H and if ya have somethin thats not
F&H ya take it from your weeklies, for e.g. the jelly tots, no?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10 EveMT

you could be right about that Taz, haven't been on propoints for too long and just read about the F&H days recently and thought I'd try to give it ago! yes I do think you're right about not counting up the points but wouldn't trust myself honestly :P for me i was just trying to eat mainly (as far as possible!) of the highlighted F&H foods in the book and see if it would make a difference to the hunger as some days i feel a bit deprived when i've used up all my dailies and amn't satisfied! If you do find out anymore info on them please post here as sounds like a positive way of thinking for long term results :)

Note to self: ALWAYS go to the WI. I was praying for a STS this week as my scales was showing +1 and +2 over the last couple of days but miracle of miracles I was -1.5 today!!! Only .5lb to go to next silver seven :D Must be extra good this week though in case the weekend tries to catch up with me!

We covered F&H days in the ww meeting this eve and your right - no points for F&H foods and use your weeklies for anything else you eat on an F&H day. I still haven't plucked up the courage to try it but your menu looked really good EveMT!

Nice one JudyD its such a great feeling.

I would definitely recommend to everyone to always go to your meeting, leaders defo understand that there are wks that we're gonna be up, my leader reckons that the wk we contemplate about goin or not is the wk we need our meeting the most. It gives you the motivation to keep goin.

    Ok lecture over.

Back on the ww bus again today and it felt good not to have that bloated and sluggish feeling I've had over the last few days.

Advice needed please, can someone tell me how they point danone activia fat free yogurts, I've always thought 2pp but a work colleague points at 1pp as her leader said the 125g pot would realistically work out at 1.25 pp - round it to the nearest pp therefore = 1. Would love to know your take on it my pp are precious!

    Thanks in advance

Our leader said last week that there was 18 points in a bag of natural confectionary jellies- I don't know which variety, but I'd suspect they'll all be similar/the same. There's a bag of haribo starmix in my food press that someone brought one evening weeks and weeks ago. I pointed them one night at 9 pp per 100 g. Think it's a 250g bag, so needless to say, it went back in the press unopened!!. I don't know about tangfastics, but they'd probably be similar...

Well done tubbydave!!! 2lb down... thats brilliant!!! especially seen as you are eating normal bread.... I hate the WW bread... can't abide it at all... the Hovis Nimble is better for the same pp... or look for low value wraps. Also I found that the hot dog rolls.... We have bundys here (not sure if they are available in scotland, i know i couldn't find them when i lived in glasgow... ) these hot dog rolls are only 4pp... they are soooo nice and sweet and yummy!!! Or the burger buns in Aldi are only 3pp... Im such a wagon for bread so i go mental pointing in that aisle of the supermarket... :)

I would recommend the same. Its always better to know ehere you stand. If you gain 2lbs and don't go to find out - and the following week lose 1.5lbs - the scales in the meeting will show a gain on 0.5lbs the second week. Which will not help motivation. Wheras if you get your original gain logged and recorded you know exactly where you are at the following week.

Also you never know when you will be pleasantly surprised. I was sure I would be up this week, the scales in my parents house was showing me up 1lb, but when I got weighed last night I was down 1.5. So always go and face the music. Even if you are up, everyone is human and is bound to have a bad week every now and then.

It's taken me 7 weeks to lose 7.5lb so gaining 3lb almost makes it not even worth while. It makes me think, why do I bother, working so hard and then going out at the weekend (which inevitably is going to happen at least once a month, I can't/don't want to become a hermit just because I want to lose weight) and then ending up back at square one.

don't be hard on yourself monife.... i found it was like a weight lifted off me when i admitted to myself and to everyone on here how bad my week had been. it kinda makes you face it and move on. You are brilliant for motivation for other people on this so don't give up. Like we were saying yesterday, you can't expect to sail through life with WW friendly options available all the time. I was kidding myself about that for the last few months. This week was a disaster..... but it was a kick in my backside to show me that i can have bad weeks and not totally fall off the wagon. As someone said earlier, this is a marathon, not a sprint. Whether you have 10lb or 10st to lose you will always have obstacles in the way...its lifes way of fecking with us....

I was really thinking of not going to WI tonight, I am mortified at my own lack of restraint.... but i feel like, this week is over (well as of tonight anyway) and tomorrow is a new day and that will be better.

You are doing brilliantly, starting to lose weight is always a shock to the system. Just don't let one week wreck your whole journey... just picture yourself on the WW website telling your story when you get to goal :) :P ... and you will get there! you, like so many of us, want it too much to give up for good!

sorry for the long post, just you have helped me sooooo much through my journey so far, just trying to repay the favour a small bit.... xxxx

    Thanks in advance[/Quote]
I'm just home from my WI, and my leader said they were 1pp too. I'm not much of a one for yoghurt, so I've never checked myself!

Sorry about the zillion posts folks... I can't do that multiple-quote thingy on my phone. Just home from my WI- STS. Well deserved- a loss would have been a massive fluke, and I needed a small bit of a shove back onto the wagon anyhow. It means I've only three weigh ins to get to my post Easter mini goal though.... Eeek- three weeks to lose 5.5lb and say goodbye to the 15's. Not sure how realistic that is, since one of those weeks includes Easter. I'm going to put back on my food police hat tomorrow, and form an even closer relationship with my tracker. No picking for me this week!

i have WI tonight, like most people on here, the idea of not going to WI has crossed my mind more than once. from the looks of my scales here i am expecting at least +1 or +2... like you, i want to get into the 10s for easter, thats 2.5lb for me from last weeks WI so its probably around the 5/6lb mark away from it from tonight...

you are right with the mini goals. no point in joining and saying "i want 5 stone gone in 4 months..." it just seems like mount everest.... small goals make it a lot more managable in the long run... its a marathon.... i just have to keep reminding myself of that haha

Well done on all the great losses and to those that STS or gained draw a line under it NOW. Don't wait until tomorrow start now.

DAs Kitty good luck tonight. I really hope you get it as I know how long you've been trying :)

To those struggling after the weekend, remember that life is life. You need to fit WW into your life and not your life into WW. One weekend isn't going to derail you in the long run unless you let it. You've all done really well so far so keep it up. It could be good to do a bit of a refresher e.g. look back at old photos, write out reasons as to why you want to lose weight, think about how you felt before you started losing, think about how you'll feel when you get to goal. It's a VERY tough journey but the slower the better as you'll keep it off for life then.

I was down 0.5lb today :) I know it doesn't seem a lot but to me it's a loss. I've struggled with a serious plateau for a while now but I think I may have found my way out of it. I also lost an inch on my thighs, hips and waist and four inches on my stomach :D I went to Pennys today as well and I tried on shorts but with leggings underneath as I'm not a fan of my legs. Anyway I felt uncomfortable and fat so I took off the leggings and I was shocked with how well my legs actually looked in the shorts. Now they're still a long way off perfect but the shorts looked much better without the leggings than with :D

Here's an article that was on the WW ages ago but I kept a copy of it!

    When You're About to Quit

You're bored. Frustrated. Exasperated. Tired. Just too busy to even think of trying to lose weight. You want to quit.
Don't despair. You've reached the point in your weight loss journey that really, truly determines whether or not you're going to get to your goal and stay there. Now it's up to you.
"Most people trying to lose weight go through periods when they're discouraged," says Dr. Howard Rankin, psychologist and author of Inspired to Lose (Step Wise Press, 2001). "One of the factors that distinguishes people who are successful from people who aren't is that people who are successful quit for a day or so, then get back on. Unsuccessful people quit and give up for good."

Quit or Keep Going: It's Up to You

Picture yourself standing at a fork in the road toward your weight loss goals. Go one way, and you're off track completely. The longer you keep going that way, the harder it will be to get back to where you were.

Or choose to keep going and make it to your goals that much quicker. But that's much easier said than done, right? Not with the right tools. Consider these suggestions from Rankin and from Palma Posillico, general manager of training and development for Weight Watchers International:

Expect it, says Rankin. Wanting to give up is normal. And if you plan for what to do when quitting crosses your mind, you'll be more likely to decide to stick with it.

Get a move on motivation. If you feel like giving up and want to give your efforts a boost, says Posillico, try using Visualise a Better Body, a powerful tool from Weight Watchers Motivate Me. Picture yourself at your ultimate goal weight — how does it feel? Spend a few minutes each day imagining what it will be like

One message board user says she looked at Weight Watchers Success Stories for motivation. "I would visualise myself in their place. I thought of what my pictures would look like, what 'tips' I would share." Try it.

Eliminate the word 'quit' from your vocabulary. Perhaps instead of 'quitting', you're deciding to maintain the weight you've already lost, just for a little while, until you get your motivation back. "Learning to maintain along the way is a very successful strategy," says Posillico.

Don't let plateaus put you off. Another user says: "I almost quit when I was still a few pounds over my weight loss goal. A lot of resentment grew between me and the scale."

If your weight loss has slowed or even stopped, despite what feels like your best efforts, keep at it. Think back to the goals you set yourself when you first joined Weight Watchers. "The thing that kept me going and striving to lose those last few pounds (and it took me months)," says the user from above, "was that I wanted to be a Gold Member."

Figure out what's worked in the past. Look through your Journal or trackers at weeks that have worked for you - what did you do? This week, focus only on the task of repeating what you did that week. See if it works again.

Try some new meal ideas. If you're bored with eating the same foods, or sick of figuring out food plan-friendly options, New meal ideas are a great way to tuck in without deliberation.

I think I'm going to try a F&H day tomorrow. Can anyone tell me if I can use just normal Brennans wholewheat bread for toast or does it have to be Weight Watchers (which is calory-controlled)? I know that Brennans is always being advertised as 'naturally low in fat' and is typically lower points than most other breads, so I'm wondering if this would be okay??
