Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I added it but placed it arbitrarily on latchford green, can you go to google streetview and point it at the spot and copy the link by pressing the copy url button? (point 2 here)

    Grand. I'll get that mapped.

I knew there must be a couple more around that area that I missed on my cab hunting expeditions. :o

Another being installed opposite Lidl in Enniscorthy, spoke to one of the lads working on them and there's 22 to be put in around the town.

Cab installed Today no ID NO: as of yet

I drove into Kilcoole on Monday to see the progress and noticed the one in Beachdale is fully done, as a previous poster had stated, there are fibre and electrical wires coming out of the ground in both the main street one and Lott Lane.

Has the main street cabinet went in as well? Do you know if there are any more cabinets about? If you see the KN/Eircom team there, ask them when they are making their tracks into Greystones :D or how long it'll be. Thanks! :)

Added two cabinets in Blackrock, Cork that were installed in the last few days. Hettyfield exchange according to the boundary map. First activity in the area according to the Google Docs spreadsheet!

Edit: Does anyone know for sure where that exchange is? Hettyfield is a tiny one off the Well road according to the boundary map & streetview, but there's a large eircom building with large microwave transceiver by Pairc Ui Rinn which is in the middle of that boundary.

That's the one I could see in the map provided by Sponge Bob all right. I put that as the exchange on the map for now. This is the one I'm confused about. Seems like a much bigger facility much more suitable to such a high population area. Maybe it's just a storage facility or something.

I have tried to put 2 more locations on the map but i cannot, they are both in Howth in Dublin, i can give you the address of where they are if that helps?

You can right-click on the map where you believe it to be (give the coordinates - shown in attachment) and also give the address. :)

But this is the thread where we are doing the mapping for the cabinets. :D

Seen my first cabinet today in Carlow on sleaty street graiguecullen near the Gaa clubhouse added it to the map. KN digging up the street for the last few days, they are digging further along the road at the entrance to Dunnes today didn't see any other new cabinets there yet.

Edit: Here is the location didn't seem to save onto map http://goo.gl/maps/KTkB7

I see on Fairview Terrace that there's a planning application by Eircom for the installation of a cabinet. Not sure if it's anything to do with VDSL though.

Went past it today and location on the map is spot on.

There's another one just outside Latchford estate, two across the road in Castlegrange and one down the road in Rosedale. I'll map those four this evening.

Just after putting in details about a plinth going in at the top of my estate. The KN network lads said it might be end of June/July that we can access the cab.

I see somebody has put one in for Bellevue Road as well. Looks like they are starting work in the main area of Greystones. They must be finished with Kilcoole/Newtownmountkennedy for the moment.

one of them i see everyday cause it across the road from me and the other is only around the corner i have to go by it when I'm leaving Howth

Final one here, i did like a 4 hour walk around....while i spotted at least 8 of the large green cabs there were no new VDSL beside them, and i spotted 2-3 of the older grey telephone cabs but no big green version.

Still alot of work and upgrading to do. http://goo.gl/maps/P1xSX

I'll point out some of the large green and grey cabs i spotted, but none of them have VDSL

    http://goo.gl/maps/5muUC

    http://goo.gl/maps/fbX89

Can i just add?....i frickin LOVE google street view! :D , it helps alot as you can use it as a guide to find cabs, makes it easier to locate them when you go out walking and mapping/taking pics :)

    Besides, good bit of exercise

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

These are umapped cabs, meaning while i found them on Street View i have not personally seen them, ergo no pics or if they have VDSL.

Found 2 fibre cabs in clongriffen on the donaghmede exchange :confused:, didn't think this area had been touched yet as it's in phase 5. On my phone now, will post pictures later and add them to the map.

Well Greystones, Kilcoole (Greystones) and Newtownmountkennedy are all for Dec 2013. I think Newtownmountkennedy is all ready. Kilcoole and Greystones are currently being worked on. Some cabs in Kilcoole and plinths going in around Greystones town.

So these guys aren't messing about. They are working weekends to get as much work done before May 20th.

The engineers for KN networks said our cabinet was ordered but that we may not be able to avail of the service till around late July (probably the date that they expect to complete Greystones).

Added another in Letterkenny at Bonagee, next to the Clanree Hotel.

This cab has now been mapped, and yes....it does have VDSL, so please add.

Yeah I know that, Sutton is the same cabs and plinths and planning notices every where, but to have something in phase 5 complete is pretty shocking.

Just looking to see what happened, the map was listing two VDSL boxes in Ballyfermot. They've since disappeared off the map. I had received an eFibre leaflet through my post in Feb. Anyone from the area able to update? It'll be tomorrow at the earliest before I can have a walk around and see if there are indeed any VDSL boxes around.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17 Danny Edwards

    phill106, please resize that photo.

What do you mean by Eircom only? They belong to eircom but Eircom resell their lines to other Internet service providers. Sky, Vodafone, Magnet and Digweb should have access to them.
