    think its a 65l tank (costs about €50 to fill with biodiesel, or €75 normal diesel)
    does betweem 800km-1000km depending on driving

    the lcd readout says i'm getting 52.4mpg

    60l tank, I get on average about 350 miles, maybe a bit more.

    I knew they werent great for the petrol, but this is awful!

    Just did a calculation and it works out as 26 mpg...

    Having finished this thread it seems the worst offenders by far are actually the small "economy cars".Opel Corsas and Ford's getting only in the mid thirties. While you have big BMW's and VW's which weigh alot more pulling in far better figures. It really is a hangover from the days of engine sized motor taxation.

    I would say that around 70% of Irish cars on the road are underpowered in terms of Engine size to body weight meaning the smaller bore engines have to work far harder per stroke to power the car whereas the newer bigger engined cars especially Diesel are able to produce the neccesary power to the car moving. Even big Petrol engines are more efficent if balanced correctly to the weight of the vehicle.

    Exactly. People drive small cars too hard trying to get power thats not there. Its like the Prius versus M3 (5?) on Top Gear.
