Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sorry, but I'd by a ball of sh1te if it had a Nintendo logo on it, and having bought a 3DS at launch I know what I'm talking about..

    Timescale of the new 3ds

    3ds Xl announced

    Sales of 3ds original stop

    Price slashed on 3ds

Hack for original 3ds and flashcard come out

All original unsold 3dses fly off the shelves

    Nintendo profit :D

I don't think anyone/company who is capable of hacking the 3ds is interested really. The possible costs involved of exploiting the console likely wouldn't outweigh any potential profit...as well there hasn't been much stuff to actually pirate until relatively recently.

As the 3DS grows though, I'd expect that to change.

There's no way I'm buying any potential 3DS XL, I'll definitely wait a while

True but if ninty by mistake release an exploit then someone will snap it up surely:eek:

For sure, but usually these things have to be actively searched out & that means paying people/investing time & money/general expense.

Some lucky bedroom coder could find something, it's doubtful though

5 player Rayman looks like crazy fun on the WiiU

They better announce Overblood 3. Actually I'd piss myself laughing if Sony announce Legend of Dragoon 2 :)

Ubisoft are pretty much going all out for the WiiU

They actually have a zombie game set in London called, no joke, ZombiU

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 51,829 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

Ubisoft have always been one of the first to support a new platform so it doesn't surprise me. I'm just surprised that they aren't turfing yet another port of Rayman 2 on to it.

There is some sort of Raving Rabbids game...

    It's all live here.

    http://www.gametrailers.com/netstorage/e3/live.html

The best thing is you can vote second per second to show how impressed or not impressed you are... Always fun to watch the thing plummet when the hip presenters come on.

Ugh, the Dead Space 3 demo is painful. Always upsetting to see a potentially promising franchise have all the life just sucked out of it.

Metal Gear fans.... They won't have a bad word said about MGS4 despite it being quite terrible in many ways yet think that the amazing looking MGS Rising is an abomination. Muppets.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,695 ✭✭✭DinoRex

MGS4 was my favourite... but then I did not enjoy MGS series.

In non-E3 news I was in Galway at the weekend and nearly **** myself when I saw this in a 2 Euro store until I realised what it actually said:

Haha! I think we need cut your face out of that and use it as the official new Troll Face!

I'm after buying another Laser Blaster Gun for the PS2, complete with pedal this time.

Was only used once and put back in the box, looks in great nick.

    I was the only bidder & @ £1 + £6 p+p from the UK,
i had to PM the selller who was really nice and bump that upto £16 and see if he was okay with it.

    Made the sellers day!

He was real nice too when I asked him how much would shipping be to Ireland in advance.

    Think of it like,
he's only selling the bloody thing for a pound really as he has to pay the postage himself and paypal fees on top of that.

It's the ethical thing to do.

I'll probably try and use the light sensor in the crappy one, for the vectrex light pen project if its suitable.

My girlfriend and some co-workers are doing the Four Peaks Challenge at the weekend for charity (Focus Ireland, where they work). They've called themselves the Tenacious Turtles for some reason and unfortunately they still haven't gotten to there fund raising goal yet.

Some paintings my GF did earlier for the the team:

Well, since I have that new 3DO emulator I decided to pop in my absolute favourite 3DO game (perhaps favourite game ever on any system) and make a nice video.

I know, I know, you guys are all jealous that I have this game on many systems and would kill me in a heartbeat to aquire them all. But you're just going to have to live with it and get your ROTR fix from the below vid.

All emu enhancements were turned off by the way, no hqx2/3/4 or any of that sort of thing.

    Edit:
As you can see from the video the gameplay is still as fluid and dynamic as it's always been and this game is one of the few that has really aged well. I just love the flow of the game and lets not forget the massive amount of moves available. And of course lets not forget the huge list of playable characters to choose from.

    Also,
    :pac::pac::pac::pac::pac:

So far, according to e3, what should I be looking out for? Haven't watched or read anything about the event yet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,695 ✭✭✭DinoRex

Most interesting things so far have been South Park on xbox.

Beyond and The Last of Us on the PS3. Overall not a bad showing from Sony.

Oh and Watch_Dogs dogs looks pretty brilliant from Ubisoft. The new Rayman game for the WiiU looks great too.

From my brief skim over the forum today -

    An Overblood game featuring tampax.

New Legend of Dragoon game with toys similar to Skylanders.

New 3DS revision featuring r4 flash card support.

We actually had two people from the company that makes that stuff come into the hospital to show us the correct way to apply them to clients, not like I haven't spent the previous 20 years putting them on my patients over the years or nothing like that ......
There are certain techniques used to ensure a good seal and no "fall out".... I'm not sure this is the appropriate forum, but if Legend of the Dragoon 2 gets announced we might be all glad we knew the right way, right-a-way!

I see Rage has Sunset Riders for 29.99!
    WANT!
No way to get in there on time though :(
I see there are a lot of changes, not so good ones, compared to the Snes version, it seem superior... still it's relatively cheap....

Good price! That one usually goes for a bit more than that alright. I never understood why, it doesn't seem that rare or anything.

Then snes one is still miles better though :)

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 34,630 CMod ✭✭✭✭CiDeRmAn

Think I'll wait til I see the Snes edition, that's the one I played back in the day, remember renting it way back when it was new!
    Great great game.
Konami were so dominant in games for the Snes, better than Ninty themselves in some respects....

Sunset Riders pales on all consoles compared to the arcade version, stick it on your Ikea Cab & take solace in the fact that any money wasted on the cart version could have been put towards the actual pcb.

    Same with SF2 etc

    A little like this?
    Italian Sunset Riders for €100

Of course, it coming from Italy mean you never receive it, and if you do it may have Italian pubic hair on it.... trust me, past experience....

Thats the one. My two Madcatz RGB Scart Switchers came from Italy...pubic hair & nostril hair free...I was shocked

Sunset Riders on the consoles is fairly pish compared to the arcade machine. Levels are cut out and the big deal breaker, no 4-player. It's not that great a game, well it's a great arcade game for a quick blast but it gets boring quickly in long bursts and there's not an awful lot to it. It's not really suited to the consoles.

Agreed, but to be fair it's not that long & as you say is good for a quick dose of arcade action

So whats wrong with going back to the best era of gaming of all time?

Looks bloody good and i want a WiiU before even seeing Nintys E3

But if they announce Boulder Dash U then i will probably explode like a Canary with an air hose up its jacksie:eek:

Nothing necessarily wrong with it, but it's becoming a trend...with results largely in the disappointing side of the camp.

I don't yet want a Wii U, hype over a joypad would never sell me a console...I'll wait till I hear what the machine itself actually is

Nintenod rehashing franchises isn't far from what every other Publisher is doing with all the franchise sequels they are turfing out. At least Nintendo try something different with their franchises, the mario, donkey kong and kirby franchises for instance usually wildly differ from each other with all the off shoots from the main series. Sure the only one that has really remained stagnant is Zelda and I feel that's mostly Nintendo being afraid of fan backlash (and not unrightly so, just look at the backlash to Wind Waker when Nintendo dared to make it the most gorgeous game ever made).

In the last year off the top of my head we have had Xenoblade, Last Story and Pandoras Tower so ut's not like they aren't bankrolling new IP.

I've decided to do a collection of sin. I have most of the versions of Rise of the Robots at home and I'm thinking about getting the one or two I'm missing and making some presentation case for them all.

Any ideas on how to present them?
A wall hanging case would look the best(as in awful) I think but would have to be deep enough to hold the boxes etc.

    Thoughts?

    .

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 34,630 CMod ✭✭✭✭CiDeRmAn

Yeah, but now we are getting repeats of past new paths for their franchises.
Couldn't get enough Mario Tennis? Don't worry, there will be a version for every Ninty console you own!
It's more interesting to think of a time when Nintendo made game with no references to past glories, like Pikmin... although his surname Olimar is almost Mario anagram'd up.

That said, if everything a company makes has to be branded with it's mascot, there's worse companies and mascots than Ninty and Mario I guess.....

    Sony and Stick?

    Sega and the Cyber-Razor barber?

Philips and a ball of sh1te?

Yes, you should have the Sin Bin - a receptacle where you place all the games as soon as you've procured them.

I have heard tales that if you leave them out on your front kerb on a certain night of the week (with a mystical 'Greenstar' sticker), a magical fairy will whisk them away for ever more.
