Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Shell in thomondgate, across from quiltys E1.33, it's topaz now...

Haven't seen today's price, but the Amber station on the Kilmallock road is consistently the cheapest that I can find. Normally a good 2 or 3 cent per litre cheaper than Texaco, Topaz(new name for Shell & Statoil) etc.

I have been boycotting Shell and Statoil over the Mayo Gas pipeline but it would be so handy for me to be able to pop into the Shell garage as there is one very close to where I live - is Topaz just a new name for Shell and Statoil or is it a new company that have taken over their petrol stations which means I could use the premises?

Looks to me that you're ok to use them....

Topaz Energy Ltd has announced a €50 million investment programme to support the launch of the new Topaz
brand in the Irish fuels and retail business. The company, which is one of Ireland’s
largest privately owned companies, has a turnover of over €3.5 billion a year and has
more than 1.5 million customer transactions each week.
In 2005 and 2006 respectively it bought the retail and commercial fuels businesses of
Shell and Statoil in Ireland. It is the largest fuels business in the country. The company
expects to create 400 new jobs as a result of this investment programme.
The new Topaz brand will replace the Shell and Statoil brands in the Irish retail and commercial fuels market.

I've never had that problem. In fact, my fuel efficiency has increased lately, which is kind of bizarre. No complaints here though.:D

This is a lot of work guys. Try www.pumps.ie. All the local stations are there and you just update the current price. I try to update it with the local ones if I remember them.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 176 ✭✭Hansel

Anybody else find it sad that we find the current prices "cheap"?:(

The thread is actually for the "cheapest" petrol. Its all relative.

Anyways, I have a Benchmark fuel card. I can use it at any Statoil (now Topaz). Cost is 127.5 at any Topaz station for petrol, and 139.9 for diesel.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭Crea

    €1.29 in Topaz in Corbally.

It's cheaper in half a dozen places in limerick now.
    • Texaco Raheen - 125.5
    • Shell Sexton St - 127.9
Found these on pumps.ie, so I can't guarantee them myself. Actually i can for the shell as I seen it myself earlier.

Also 126.9 for petrol in Topaz in Grove Island/Corbally.

  • Registered Users Posts: 538 ✭✭✭rok

some of the Topaz stations on the Ennis road seems to be running low on petrol lately, again last night the Topaz at coonagh Cross had the yellow Out-Of-Order locks on nearly all pumps

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 164 ✭✭Osk

I think most of the Topaz stations that used to be Shell have the out of order locks on the pumps that used to be v-power (or v-something!). Topaz beside Advance types on Ennis Road and Topaz in Shannon are both 126.9 today.

The station beside the Hi-way/Regional Hospital was 133.9 for petrol last night

125.9 in Topaz Corbally/Grove island tonight for petrol.
    135.9 for diesel.

Chawkes on Dublin road seems cheapest right now.
Can't remember the price but it was better than the Texaco in Raheen which, last time I looked was 126 for petrol and 130.9 for deisel

Texaco Raheen this morning was 124.8 pl.

They also look like they're about to introduce their "fast pay" system, which is where you can pay at the pumps with your lazer/credit card.
They had little cards inside the shop advertising it.

    123.9 in Topaz Corbally/Grove island

Ah, no bother. That site is handy but can get outdated quickly if fuel prices start jumping up and down regularly.

You could go mad and update it yourself?

Btw, petrol in shannon us 118.9, diesel 125.9. I'm sure it'll filter into limerick shortly.
