Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thanks Rachineire!Oh my god sleepytrees, that is an absolutely obscene amount for a damn pair of socks!!!! Is any portion of that covered by medical card or can you get partial payment from private health insurance?
Seeing as i'm new here i'm not goin to moan overly today, for once i'm actually feeling good since the beginning of this pregnancy, however I'm going to moan about the size of the bump. Now i know we all have those days where we just feel "fat" and bloated etc, that i don't mind, what i do mind is when i go for my 12 week check up (at 11 + 4) and have my docs first words to me " Oh my god you're massive" followed by her saying it's not bloating or gas or any of the hundred and one other things it could be, but definitely bump. I don't mind showing so early and to such a large extent, but it just annoyed the hell outta me when my doc said it to me. *sigh* Rant over, i feel much better, so i'm gonna have me some choccy cake now
Not covered by medical card! Oh well.
Don't mind the doctor! I got told the same and it turned out I was carrying some extra fluid! feel huge now!! Love chocolate cake
I dont blame you for feeling miserable! Injections and socks! I got 3 pairs free after my C-section as I'd to wear them for 6 weeks. I managed nearly 4 weeks and then gave up - but I wasnt particularly at risk. Would you try to buy them online it might be cheaper?

I have had one since 13 weeks though it took the hospital 2 weeks to finally get me a scan to clarify that it was a clot so since week 11. I have the daily injections also into the tummy,its pants isnt it,I'm 26 weeks now this week so theres still another 20 weeks of them to come! Was at hemotologist last week as well,he wasnt happy with me cos I stopped wearing the stockings as they were unbearable bloody thigh high things. He prescribed below the knee grade 2 compression,there is a HUGE price difference in them,none will last longer than 30 washes apparently I got my scholl ones at 23 euro a pair from the local pharmacist while boots wanted 80 euro for them! also the ones i got are like black tights,very easy to wear,not so great in the heat but have definately improved the circulation in my leg. He also changed the dosage i was getting as it was dangerously high! I hate needles,my tummys like a pin cushion!
gems1183 so sorry to hear about you injecting yourself since week 13! That really sucks! That's much worse than me. I hadn't even got a DVT!! They are just going on bloods test that they took before I was pregnant a few years ago.Are the injections really horrible? Do they have any side effects? Thanks for the advise about the Scholl ones!0 -
ah girls I've had a hell of a day-
I dropped my damn coffee cup this morning spilling a full cup all over myself, the floor, the wall, the stairs you name it!
Then I went to the doctor- they let me sit there for 45 minutes before they bothered to tell me there were no doctors actually in the office and so I wouldn't be seen that day.
Then I went to specsavers for a previously set up appointment and was told I couldnt be seen since I was lacking some form I had never been told about.
Then I went home and was making myself a hot water bottle since my back was in bits and ending up spilling boiling water all over my hand and then cried like a baby for 30 minutes on the couch.
Was not a good day
But I did buy a cute giraffe outfit from mothercare on sale for 9 euro (to which my OH informed me its actually a cow but damnit after my day its going to be giraffe if I want it to be a giraffe) and set up my appointment for my 3d scan! 0 -
hi sleepytrees, I wont lie but the injections arent great but then you kinda get used to them.I have awful bruising from them but I'm on a very high dose cos of the dvt.they dont hurt so much but dont rub the injection site after you give it,it doesnt bruise as much and try and avoid scratching it. if you take your time pushing the dose in it wont come up in lumps but apparently they are completely normal as well. Its pure sh*t but the end result is a healthy babs and a healthy you the stockings have been cruel though in the heat i thought i was going to pass out and they have to stay on,both legs! 0

Am so annoyed because I can't reach anything- plugging things in, picking things off the floor, trying to cut my toe nails, never mind my lady bits!
Had intended to spend the day shopping and was wrecked after three shops - aaaghh.
6 weeks to go. Then 6 more weeks recovery from section scar.

My rant is heat! it's too hot out! i've a massive headache from it. I'm going through a real nesting stage and trying to clean with the heat I'm pumping sweat!!
And i'm with you on the people saying "you're huge"
i've had about 3 people say this to me! I either felt like punching them or crying!
Why say that to someone? I've never ever said it to any of my sister when pregnant or any other pregnant woman. It's damn right rude!

The cheek of your manager! grrr. Aren't you allowed about 3 coffee a day? Another good trick my sister did when pregnant was had coffee made really weak so she could have about 5 cups. It's your pregnancy and do what you want! I got in terrible trouble for having a can of coke by my mammy!
Yeah I can't tell with my manager sometimes...I thought early on we were having a girl and bought one girly outfit and when we found out we were having a boy she sent a text saying congrats and I sure do look stupid for buying the girl outfit....was it a bad joke or an insult? I just ignored it!!
I like the weak coffee idea I must do that! And a can of coke?? Drink away I say and boo to the dissenters! Thanks for the understanding...I needed some validation haha!

I was told 3 times last friday night (was out with himself for dinner and a few drinks, he was drinking I wasn't) that I looked at least 6 months, and again by other durning this week as well, i've gone back into hiding in my house again unless absolutely necessary.
I should point out i'm only 16weeks +5 so i'm still well off the six months,.
So yup def feel like ranting about the idiots who keep telling me i'm massoooiveeee. There are days in which we (most of us) enjoy the showing etc but there we've all i'm sure had days where we just feel FAT and those always seem to be the days idiots come along and say stupid things like "you're sooo big" and "omg you're massive"...
Those are the day i refer to as the get away from me before you find your heart dug out with a rusty spoon days:o0 -

Love the rusty spoon idea haha oh hormones! I get it a lot! My sister actually said to me "how do you walk you are so huge" I felt like replying
" How do you?" but I stopped myself! You think people would be extra nice to us considering the hormones but some people like taking risks haha0 -

HAHAHAHAHA, ah jaysus sleepy ya nearly had me peeing myself there...
I'm already doing the waddle walk again, but fortunately i'm rarely out without my two and a half year old so the buggy kinda disguises it a fair bit.
Oh it's going to be fun by the time we've all popped. I wonder how many murder charges we'll have between us by then?

It's too hot! I'm melting in this heat. Wearing compression socks doesn't help either! I feel all sweaty and huge! I'm sweating in places I never sweated before
Nearly 30wks and counting. Wish I could fast forward to baby being hear.

Is the lack of dignity is never ending in late pregnancy?! My poor squished little bladder was feeling full so I set out on the waddle to the bathroom ... got to the doorway of the bathroom and suddenly without warning had a massive big sneeze :mad: IN the doorway, like 2ft from the toilet! Yeah, not so full bladder then and my favourite maternity PJs back into the washing machine again. Thankfully himself is super kind to me when stuff like that happens, he always manages to make me feel able to laugh over it.
Note to self though; it might be a pain hauling bump to the bathroom frequently but its better than leaving it too long and enduring a timpiste from something simple like a sneeze!
oh you poor thing! i'm a bit leaky these days too, but nothing that bad has happened to me . . . .yet

Oh poor you!! I got bad back pain at 8 weeks...it can happen early on cause you get the biggest surge of relaxin between 6 and 10 weeks and pretty much throughout the first trimester....if your pelvis separates weird it can really affect your back and how you carry your weight early on. I was able to get into the physio which was a big help and I bought a ball which I do daily exercise on which really helps stretch out my back. Other than that it's been lots of hot water bottles and paracetamol. It gets better when the baby moves up as well!! Being pregnant is sh*t! Don't get me wrong I'm delighted that he/she is on its way but seriously! 27 weeks pregnant and had to stop 3 times otw into work to get sick also have horrible head cold!
Have told himself that this will be an only child and he just laughs at me...as far as he's concerned 2 is the minimum.0 -
