Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Picked up Blur for the 360 for 11.98 new.
Also, seeing as it on the PS2 and the sequel on the 3ds, I got a lovely preowned copy of Okami for the Wii for 7.99 with the nice art on an additional sleeve. All in Gamestop.

Got me a Dreamcast Vga box today so I can hook one up to Cab.

Holy Crap..the difference in Visuals is crazy.First time I've seen a DC through VGA. Soul Caliber looks like a 360 game!My jaw actually dropped.
How the hell did I stand for that RF back in the day

Some difference all right. I was lucky enough to have a VGA box back in the day(still have it in fact, hooked up to my cab).

I never had it on Rf though, that's nasty

Yeah It makes the graphics look like a TV channel not tuned in properly.
And I never new any better back then...shocking.

Now for the padhacks..you done that yet Steve?

I got them done by a guy in the states. He's on Arcade Otaku and he used the Mad Catz Dream Pad's I sent him to make the hack.
Can't remember his name off the top of my head but I think others here have used him as well for 360 hacks.

This kind of pad, although mine were coloured.

Probably the same dude I am looking at on AO
Hunami or some name like that
Just buy madcatz pads on ebay and send to him.
    Quick turn around was it?

Picked up God Hand myself today, in CEX. Looks to be an unused copy so pleased with that

HarumaN is his ID, you can also get him to buy the pads for you and he just adds them to the overall price - if you don't already have the pads then that would probably the cheaper and faster option I reckon. Think he has a pic of the DC hack on his thread on AO.

Yeah, make sure to go for the Dreamcast MadCatz Pad hack as the L and R triggers are already digital in that pad and apparently have less lag than the official pad hack.

    Edit:
I see he does Saturn pads as well. Might be worth looking into.
What are the connectivity options to hook a Saturn up to an arcade monitor though?

Yeah will go for Madcatz pad cheers.
Mmmm I'd Love a Saturn connected to cab
I've seen some all in one box solutions for jamma conenction knocking around before...very pricey though
Otherwise I think you can hack the scart cable for A/V

    What does this mean?
I can download files at a whopping 2400bps on the IBM XT.

Went to a market today, saw these and was like "ooohhhhh...."
    BatmanKungFutop.jpg
But then I looked closer at them and was like "Agh!"
    BatmanKungFufronton.jpg
    BatmanKungFufull.jpg
The guy selling them said they were out in his shed for the past few years and were just bunched together. He had a few other NES games as well but those two were actually the best condition NES games he had! Both games play perfectly when I popped them into the NES but it's a real a real pity about the covers. Also the manuals are like bricks now so I don't think I'll bother trying to open them.

Also from the same chap :
    GameGearGames-NinjaGaidenSonic2.jpg
These are working fine and are both in perfect condition.

    got one of these today
Its fake as hell (didnt spend much so not bothered), and oddly enough the back light can be customized by holding down the light button , leave it on too long and it flashes every colour at an alarming rate , like some sort of tiny disco backlight.
Its funny though that someone out there is making a fake version of a really cheap watch.(and adding a set multicoloued LEDS).
Just remind me to take it off if I'm going through US customs though...

There's a huge market for cheap fakes of cheap watches.
A dollar cheaper can make a massive difference in some countries(like China).

Street Fighter III Double Impact for the dreamcast. Not really new but I thought I had lost it and I've spent a good three days tearing the house apart to find it, hell I even went into the charity book shop in town and asked did I drop it in with some books. Always coming back to the same stupid and unhelpful thought, 'It should be on top of the tele.'. Three days and not a glimpse did I catch of it, so I gave up the quest to find it.
Fast forward two weeks and hey presto, its found when I was searching for a book for my course. In a wardrobe half down a stack of books. What the heck was it doing there? Makes no sense as I haven't touched those books in ages.
    It's a pity I'm crap at it.

Has anyone else this problem with stuff being all over the house? RGB cables in the utensil drawer, games staked in with books, masses of loose carts in bedside lockers, boxes of controllers in the sitting room ...

Funny, I was only watching a video of that version the other day - looked pretty respectable in fairness. That and the PC Engine version are supposedly the better home conversions, it's interesting to see the differences between them and the original.

Was on Facebook and spotted they had the offer so i went in and had a check through the games.

Seen shenmue and put it to the bottom of the pile:eek:

Went over and asked had they any of the €25 xboxes they said yes and i asked which games were on offer.

They said anything from the pile so i took €25 out of my pocket handed it to him and went to pick my game.browsed through for a minute or so then asked had they any others he said no then i took Shenmue out and said i will go for that.:)

Btw i only blew the chit out of 1 xbox

Badly ballsed another but fixed it with splintercell

And a 4gb usb died for the cause

Now to get a 360 and mod that :D

I have it myself, and if you appreciate it for what it is, it's not so bad.

It's one of those cases though where there's absolutely no need to play it nowadays as we have perfect home arcade ports like The Raiden Project etc.

Still, it's a must buy if you have a Jag.

Definitely pick up the PC Engine version of Super Raiden if you can. The price borders the 'handsome' side of affordability but it's a smashing edition.

Then again, the PC Engine is wonderful so I would say that. :pac:

Kind of on topic, over the weekend I was clearing out a room in the house which I've never really been in (yes, my estate is that big) and I found a portable CRT!

It's not as big and nice as a trinitron, but it'll has a scart socket and should do for a bit of easy rotation with the supergun.

I got word that Mercs landed in Bray yesterday, so that worked out well timing wise.

I was thinking about getting one from ebay just to see what it was like, but then I started to think about needing an arcade stick - I can't use a joypad anymore for shmups - but I'm not paying that mad price for that stick I linked before so decided against it. And sure what's the point if you have the pcb. Save my shillings. :)

When I pick it all back up I'll take some photos of Raiden 2,The Game Paradise and Mercs on the rotated display. :)

The sound should at least work in Mercs, as it was working in other CPS1 boards I'd tested.

Oh I got blinded by what was waiting for me when I got home today. Two brand new nearly 20 year old letterbox editions Terry Pratchett books.
The gloss on the dust jacket is amazing and now puts the rest of the books beside it to shame.
Men at Arms and Guards! Guards!. The first one is actually a bit rare and goes for 50-60 quid in an acceptable condition, so I have no idea how much the new one is worth.
Got it for buttons as well. I love early morning auctions.

And now back to the Arcade & Retro discussion.
