Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Ahh shyte.

    I have an Ulster Bank ufirst account that gives me 25% off ticketmaster purchases.

    With 2 x $300 tickets for 189 and 2 x $150 tickets for Fight Night on the Sunday, I stood to save about €200 on my tickets.

    Bloody small print, only valid for events in the UK and Ireland. Hoores.

    I was just thinking as I read the first few lines that it might not apply to ticketmaster US. Could probably make a fortune if it did scalping tickets for this ;)

    You're not allowed to resell the tickets bought under that scheme, although how they would police that I don't know.

    Fao anyone who is a regular to Vegas... My fight club membership runs out in June, but obviously I still want to get in to the weigh ins. Are they strictly a member only affair? Is it worth me rejoining for another year?

    I’ve never seen weigh-ins ticketed in Vegas. Fight Club membership just means you and a friend can get in earlier than the public. Very unlikely that fight club members would fill the weigh in venue to capacity so I’d say you should be fine. It’s hard to judge how big demand would be for the weigh-in, worst case you’d just have to start queuing early.

    FC membership gets you Q&A access and early weigh in access.

    Not sure when the barcode page for the Q&A will be available though, possibly before your membership expires?

    Should have a boardsie meet up. Staying in MGM myself. Should be a bit of a laugh.

    Normally at most only a week or so before the event. No chance it'll be up a month in advance.

    We got about 6 in off the one code the last time in vegas, they gave fight club members first entry but then just let everyone in. I didn't think they were expecting such a crowd for the weigh in so I'd say it'll be the same again...the room is enormous though in the MGM so loads of space for fans

  • Registered Users Posts: 205 ✭✭johnpro

    Delighted with the addition of the WW title fight...I'd say they'll do they're best to make it a seriously stacked card!! I see gunni is trying to get on it and I'm assuming/praying that we'll get at least 1 other Irish fighter on it....preferably paddy or seery or even Duffy depending on his debut.

    I very much doubt they are looking to put more Irish on it, I'd say it would be more a coincidence, UFC have to fill a few euro cards this year.

    Gonna book flights in a couple of weeks hopefully, is it easy to get int fight week passes? Are they on sale already?

    http://www.ufcfightclub.com/presales

    Fight Club sale confirmed as 25th March 6pm Irish time, cracking cos I'll have no access to any internet on that day due to a flight

    What would be the normal plan then, newsletter code sale on the Thurs & general on the Friday?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,453 ✭✭✭✭DrPhilG

    Feck sake, that's bloody early.

    Only 1 payday between now and then.

    Balls.

    Where would you be watching from for a ticket approx 200 euro on the attached seating map of the MGM?

    any info out there of prices for certain seats?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,663 ✭✭✭JoeyJJ

    Believe 99% of seats have a decent view in MGM, I'd be happy taking any seat. Pity the dollar is so **** at the moment, would push it a bit more.
    Sat 3 rows from back in Mandalay bay at a boxing match before and I was happy out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,137 ✭✭✭TimRiggins

    You'll get a decent view from anywhere. Only holds 10,000 so It'd be similar to the o2.

    What's the allocation for Fight Club / Newsletter sales like?
    Decent seats or would you be nearly better off waiting for the general....have seen mention of the former being "frustrating"?
    Willing to pay about $400 but will go to $500 if means getting into what is the pink section on the seat map above, have heard of the front rows in the upper tiers being about $300/350
    Only thing I'd worry about the pink section is the bars of the cage blocking view

    Found this online for a recent fight there, would imagine a similar price structure

    Tickets for UFC® 178: JONES vs. GUSTAFSSON 2 go on sale Friday, Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. PT and are priced at $1,000, $750, $500, $300, $200, and $100, not including applicable service charges.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,137 ✭✭✭TimRiggins

    After Rory McDonald getting added the Canadians will travel down. I'd take what you can get ticket wise.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,453 ✭✭✭✭DrPhilG

    $500 won't get you pink section IMO.

    Vegas events are crazy expensive. And the UFC will milk this for the big show that it is.

    Most people I know in FC are expecting tickets to range from $125 to $1200 plus fees.

    I was at the MGM for UFC 116 and sat in around section 201, (cant remember the section but going by that map I'd say roughly 201) and it cost me $300 plus fees.

    I'd say to get into the pink seats you'll be talking about $700+

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,453 ✭✭✭✭DrPhilG

    And as TimRiggins said, I'll be taking the first pair of tickets I find. No way I'm risking throwing seats back. The guy I'm going with is 6'5" and will want some leg room or an aisle seat, but tough luck. We'll take what we get.

    As a fight club member, am I right in saying I should have no problem getting tickets? I'm quite nervous about it!

    Did some research into it after my post last night, found this Trip Advisor thread which mentioned "Section 21, row R for $524.15 each" for GSP V Hendricks at UFC 167

    Probably. $60 for both days. Won't be arsed standing in queues for hours, did that at UFC 100 Expo and it's a shocking waste of time.

    If there are interesting Q&As or grappling comps etc I might show up. Usually some good prices on clothes/equipment too.

    The last time the UFC sold out the MGM was UFC168 and the attendance was over 15,000.

    I'd expect ticket prices to be similar to UFC187

    P1 = $1,045.32
    P2 = $794.35
    P3 = $537.15
    P4 = $380.15
    P5 = $222.70
    P6 = $148.45

    Shame there's such a jump up between p4 and p5. Was hoping to pay about 300 quid for a ticket but I think 380 is just a bit out of my price range.

    P5 should probably relatively decent seats anyway

    Does this article appease anyone? From reading it, I can take from it that the ufc has only truly sold out the MGM twice, for silva v sonnen 2 and silva v weidman 2.

    Conor and Rory Mac are relatively big draws but I don't think they're as big as Silva. Although in saying that, those two silva fights won't have had as many fans travelling from abroad.

    Is there a map of what areas it states are P1/P2 etc? Might of missed it posted previously sorry. Want to check it out in comparison to where we sat for the McGregor vs Porier fight. Seats were great for that and in the upper tier.

    Not really.
    Some of the seating differences could be down to difference seat arrangements, but even if the MGM doesn't regularly sell out, its much more likely to be the $500 tickets left over than the $150 tickets.

    If somebody is planning on spending $500-$800 then they won;t find it difficult to get a ticket.

    Also, look at the gate amounts for a sold out MGM. This was my point about a stadium show in Ireland. A sold out stadium in Ireland doesn't make a whole lot more on the gate. Maybe 8-10million. extra production costs possibably make the whole thing break even before they even consider PPV.

    That's the price breakdown just sub the 187 prices in.

    And to top it all off..... The dollar is the strongest it has been against the euro in many a year, hence making the tickets more expensive as we will be buying from ticketmaster.com and not ticketmaster.ie.

    All the Greeks fault. Hopefully that's sorted out in the next month and see the euro improve.

    It's strong verses the AUD also, its not just that the Euro is weak (although thats not helping)

    Since tickets are on sale March 25th, there'll be a flood of fight announcements in the next few weeks. Wouldn't be surprised to see Alex Gustaffson added to the card, considering its "international fight week", maybe against the likes of Glover Texeira.

    Hopefully we get a card similar to the Jones/Johnson one.

    Full card doesn’t need to be is announced for the tickets to go on sale. Seeing at its over 3 months later, I’d expect them to keep a few spots free for a while.

    I know the full card doesn't, but the ufc always announces an extra two or three fights aswell as the main event. I'd be surprised if the majority of the PPV main card wasn't announced by March 25.

    I see where you're coming from but there's 4 months to go until the fight. Anything could happen between now and then.

    In an ideal world I'd like to see Holloway (should he beat Swanson) V Edgar (if he beats Faber) added.

    Time may not suit either fighter though it depends on what happens in each fight. Would be pretty cool but that's a pipe dream.

    I'm guessing most with non-refundable items will head along another title fight in place on the card too with the amount of injuries that do occur I'm sure people would legislate for that. Those not interested in other fighters and trip is solely based on Conor are just fecked I guess.

    But ya wouldn't be good obviously think positively fight is on!!

    The event will defo be on and it's in Vegas. Aldo gets injured Conor gets a new opponent. Conor gets injured I have a little 1 minute cry as I drive around the las vegas strip in a limo. :pac:
