Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Christ that Shredder looks awful. The reason Shredder always looked so menacing was that you knew it was a guy within the armour but yet he looked like a proper villain.

This looks like Optimus Prime had a baby.

    Alien idea was ditched.

    Take your pick....
    Shredder the Wolverine
    Shredder the Transformer
    Shredder Scissor Hands

It's awful whatever way you look at it.

It could go either way looking at that imo fun or really really badly with cheese dripping all over it.

Some of the lines in the trailer were cringeworthy.

That looks like the kind of cheesy action that will go down well in the Autumn months. It appears not to take itself too serious and the tone seems comical enough that it may just work. While I would have loved a Turtles film more in line with the comic book that was never going to happen considering the budget. Shame that we will be getting the film three months after most other countries which is plain odd, could understand it getting released in the US before us but it'll be out in Poland, Swedan, Taiwan and most other countries in August. We get it in October and not even during the Halloween week where you think they'd put it so as to attract families whose kids are on mid term.

Looks like they went with Angry-Raph rather than cool-sarcastic-Raph.

So is Shredder just a robot? Or is there a man in there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,701 ✭✭✭Bacchus

That actually looks quite cool. Shredder however looks terrible from a design point of view. Why does he have to have weird transformer-esk armour. Should have just been an ooze enhanced human with ninja skilz. That plus the foot soldiers would have been enough of a foe.

looks way better than expected! As someone said above looks like a lot of fun.

    Turtles good - Shredder bad

That's all the plot the Turtles ever needed.

doens't look THAT bad. pump lots of money into it and Bay's name and you'll get something out of it.

That still looks like a mess. Does that mean that William Fitchner is not Shredder?

Judging by the trailer I would say no. There's a bit where Fitchner says "We're going to upgrade your armour" and we get a brief glimpse of a bald man in shadows. Although imdb does have him playing "The Shredder" so maybe he dons the armour at some stage himself

Well at least they talk, unlike a certain robot movie that has not been mentioned yet in this thread.

Well they talk too but if the Turtles get the same treatment then we've already heard their entire dialogue for the film in that trailer.

I don't remember Donatello saying anything in the trailer. Maybe they are going to make him mute like they did with Bumblebee.

I don't think this needs to be spoilered. It's in the trailer and the movie's selling point is hardly going to be it's intricate plot :pac:

I took what he said as "we're upgrading your armour, now it's my armour", so I think it's pretty clear Fitchner is playing Shredder. Says it on IMDB too as you say.

I'm on the fence about going to this, the turtles look bizarre and the Shredder armour is just way OTT. I love the original movie, yeah its aged but it has a lot of charm, and is pretty dark in places for a kids movie. The turtle suits look better than the cgi in the new one too. In fact their appearance has gotten worse with each film

    1990 movie:

TMNT II (how derpy does Donatello look?!)

I can't remember, I have only vague memories of the show. Don't recall her being a love interest though.

Venus. She was either a sister or cousin. Learned martial arts in Japan and some magical powers too I think.

    Fcukin terrible show

Didn't they get separated as babies and she got raised by someone else who taught her kung fu?

There was a crossover episode with the power rangers too.

    Stanky awful show :(

Tried to watch the live action series a few months back and don't t think I managed to get through a single episode, it really is just unwatchable trash.

The animated movie a few years ago was watchable.

It was more than watchable, it was a damn fine little film and I really would have liked to see them do a sequel. Kevin Munro who directed it is co-directing the Ratchet and Clank film, I'm assuming he returned to CGI cinema to lick his wounds after the critical and commercial drubbing he suffered with his Dylan Dog adaptation.

TMNT? yeah it was, there's been so many different shows and spinoffs now it's mind boggling. There's the original show, the 2003 reboot, the awful live action one, the cgi one, the newer cgi one ( I think) and there was a few movies too.

Release date for the movie in Australia September 11 (9/11)
    Paramount had to apologize.
"Combining that image and date was a mistake. We intended no offense and have taken immediate action to discontinue its use."
