They were a bit before my time but I've been getting through some of Sonic Youths discography lately. A band I didn't think I'd like but I'm pleasantly surprised. The Sprawl is a beast of a song!

remarkably consistent band, they were producing great stuff right up to the end. "Experimental Jetset..." is their only weak album.

Have you got a favorite release?

I lean towards Washing Machine myself.

Sonic Nurse, or Dirty. Washing Machine is very good also though, "The Diamond Sea" is an incredible track.

Was never too keen on Washing Machine apart from The Diamond Sea, which is a f**king amazing song. I'm all about EVOL, Sister and Daydream Nation.

Their 80s albums are my favourite with EVOL being the one that really got me into them. I have to give their post Goo albums more of a listen, I remember liking A Thousand Leaves though.

Holy sh1t! was looking at the Primavera line-up earlier, Irish festivals could learn a thing or two from it. The only draw back is no camping.

    That's a drawback? It's a massive plus imo.

Eh give me an apartment with my friends and a shower over a tent in a wet field any day of the week.

Lyric Suggestions :- Arctic Monkeys \ Arcade Fire

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread but a mate of mine is getting married soon and is a huge fan of the above bands. We are buying him an instrument and want to get it engraved with the date of the wedding and also a lyric or two of an AM \ AF song that would befit the occasion. If anyone had any suggestions i would be very grateful.

Why do you only call me when you're high? As covered by the wonderful Miley Cyrus recently.

As Phantom departs with a death rattle this week, it's important to remember how big an impact this station once had. Some great DJ's are losing their jobs and despite being alot different to what it originally began as it is a loss.

Here's a decent history of it.
