Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I genuinely dont understand why peoples tone of voice isnt taken into account when they're being hired for a call centre environment, there's a woman who works here who literally ROARS everything down the phone at people, you'd swear we worked in a fcuking wind tunnell, its an office, you have a headset strapped to you, there's no need to be so loud!

Delighted to see Liverpool falter. Kenny Dalglish is such an unlikeable character that it makes me happy to see him miserable.

Oh and it makes Phil Thompson sad which in turn, makes me happy.

Now, just hope Stoke do a job on Man City.

if you're really being careful there's no reason for them to be thin, mine turn out like the picture

they flatten out, especially if there are higher amount of sugar in the recipe

you are supposed to place the lace cookies i make sometimes sort of ball-like on the tray, then they flatten out into thin cookies

jane for the other cookies you are talking about, you are balling them up on the tray, right?
they're not supposed to "rise", they're supposed to go round->flat

maybe if you make them again take a picture so i can see whats going on

this was my first batch using the recipe

honest to christ people should have to pass an IQ test before they're allowed buy a computer. our broadband comes with simple step by step guides to install it and people NEVER read it, you'd swear they were trying to disassemble a nuclear bomb the way people go on about "not being good with computers" its simple, plug it in, follow onscreen instructions. "it says click "install" to install....do I click it?" errr, take a wild guess, or we can sit here and maybe the pc fairies will arrive and take it from here. I asked a woman to click the windows/start button a while ago and she spent about 5 minutes looking. bottom left, looks like a multicoloured window or it says start on it. "no I dont have that" she was looking at the actual tower of her pc not the screen.

    *slams head into desk*

That could very well have been my dad, heh. He doesn't really get the concept of the internet. Which I suppose is understandable in older generations... it's very abstract for them.

In psychological terms, they don't have a "schema" for that kind of stuff.

Ah I know but this guy sounded like he was in his 40's, I mean the internet has been around for years its not a new thing, you'd imagine most people would have had some kind of contact with it before now. my dad is in his 60's and loves it he's always looking for new sites to mess around on.

I have decided to start classing people into two categories: those that annoy me and those that don't.
Sadly today, the former is winning. Some people are so self-righteous and ignorant it makes me sick.

It was actually UNREAL. I'm having more now in a minute :o

House on my street a few doors down is on fire, completely destroyed. Apparently it was arson, I would be at all surprised knowing my street to be honest. Scumbags. The only good thing is I'm fairly sure the house is vacant so at least nobody is hurt or has lost their home, even if somebody essentially loses their property!

Had a strange encounter in the drive thru queue in McDonalds on the way home tonight.

While I was waiting for my order these two guys (young, Irish, claimed to be from Tralee but didn't really sound it) got out and came up to my window and asked could they take my photo for the newspaper as they were on a roadtrip. At that point one of them suddenly said that he had to get in with me and went round to the passenger door and tried to open it (I always lock it when I drive anywhere), the one with the camera said that they weren't going to do anything bad and then both of them posed for the photo (with me supposedly in the middle, sitting in my car) and then they left.

The most likely explanation I can think of is that they were tried to rob something from inside the car.:confused:

Yikes, that does not sound like fun at all. :(

    I'm writing an essay. Grr.
