Looks good alright. Pity it's due out in September.

Ah well, I'll just dig out the old version that I got when the PS3 was first released.

Aaahhhh September.... but i wanna play it now!!!

It was originally slated for March, but now Sept? This better be good, it's now competing with GT5

Think GT5 will actually be out in September?

Really they should have a multi-season mode, one season in a racing game is way too short in this day and age.

It'll be out in that bracket of months anyway. It'll be out for Christmas. The delay from summer-winter 2010 is marketing people wanting to get the best bang for their buck.

You could say that about FIFA etc., but rather, they're huge cash cows for these developers/publishers.

Being out in September means there's very little racing left in the F1 season. What I would like to see would be some sort of update released at the start of the next season so cars, drivers and circuits would be up to date.

    Although I'm sure it wouldn't be free:rolleyes:

Believe it when I see it...

That said september is quite late for this.. But really looking forward to it. Based on EGO engine of GRID/DIRT so should be pretty good. Be interesting to see if the dynamic weather actually influences the driving as well as just looking nice.

They talk about making it realistic but tbh I always take those comments with a pinch of salt because if it was then no-one would play it. :pac:

Funny enough the 2 driving games that im playing at the minute are GRID and DIRT 2,both are whopper.

f1 games never transfer well to computers... they look good, but the gameplay does be shocking..

No F1 game will beat F1'97 on the PS. Brilliant game that was. I remember the cheat to unlock the Wipeout track and the pac man style commentators. Amazing

Its translates to "very good" or something to that effect.

Was looking into maybe getting GRID, seeing as it can be got for about €13 new. Been too long since I've played a decent racer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,854 ✭✭✭Beekay

I'd definately recommend Grid if you're looking for something to hold you over until F1 2010. And at €13 it's a steal!

Will it just be one season modes or a couple of year career?? It'd be a real shame if it wasn't over a few years

I'm not going to get it. How silly will I look waving at Vettel and Massa et al as they go past, while pootling around the track at 40km/h, drooling and admiring how real the grass is.........:D

    Looks very very good

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,280 ✭✭✭Glico Man

I'm still playing the old one and think it still looks fantastic but F1 2010 is making me drool... It looks stunning. I'd say it will take me a couple of races before I actually stop admiring the graphics and letting people cruise past while I'm gawking at the scenery and cars :o

The release date can't come soon enough. Can't wait to try a wet race :D

Can't really add much more than that! It's the first game in a long time that I'm actually genuinely excited about

    Bout frickin time.
Can't understand what took this so long.

As a poster above says, by the time this is out, the season is nearly over.
I hope they give us a season or two of downloadable updates.
Otherwise it'll be out of date as soon as it comes out.
Much the same scenario as the first one that came out when the PS3 was launched.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

If they kept it updated every 6 months I'd be happy enough paying a fiver each time. It's not like the old games where the fast cars stayed fast all year. :pac:

To be fair though, most F1 games have been released close to the end of their respective seasons. It would be nice to have some DLC update for next season, all it would need is updated car liveries and rules but I can't see it happening.

It's been far too long since I've owned an F1 game, so much so that the last one I got was the one that came out with the PS3 in 2007, so that would be the 2006 season. I still play it though, and it still plays very well but it is very outdated.

The problem with this is the cost of the F1 license. There is a huge cost involved in getting the 2010 license and if they want to update it with DLC they will need the rights to 2011 etc. Thats why we havent seen official F1 cars in Gran Turismo yet. The greed of Bernie Ecclestone. Such a shame.

This Friday, finally, reviews are all very promising,

  • Registered Users Posts: 282 ✭✭macpac26

The reviews so far are excellent for an F1 game a lot of 9/10s. Ordered my Wheelstand Pro for my Logitech DFGT, so cant wait to try it out. The weather is amazing!

In general, multi-format games look better on the 360.
    This game, I don't know.

This is looking good and getting good scores, may have invest in a wheel for this and GT5.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,888 ✭✭✭✭Frank Bullitt

Not sure weather to get a wheel or not,i usually like using the controller for it really.

What wheels are good for PS3?

I have the Logitech Driving Force GT and its epic! Custom made for Gran Turismo 5 you can adjust car settings mid race. The force feedback is fantastic. I think Argos have it at 99euro.

If you have the dosh most people recommend the Logitech G25 or the newer G27. Out of my budget unfortunately.

If your thinking of getting a wheel make sure you have a solid place to clamp the wheel down otherwise you wont get the maximum out of it.
