Not a whole lot to be honest. You're quite far from the cabinet.

No idea if I should try and get the profile raised or not?

So seems to have been a change in the SNR. Also not sure what FEC are but both have changed dramatically:

Do you reckon vectoring has been enabled on my exchange?

    Hi Folks,

Here are my stats, including revealed attainable rates:

    Downstream line rate (kbit/s) 30719
    Upstream line rate (kbit/s) 8191
    Downstream attainable data rate(kbit/s) 36304
    Upstream attainable data rate(kbit/s) 12921
    Downstream SNR (dB) 11.1
    Upstream SNR (dB) 13.5
    Downstream line attenuation (dB) 19.1
    Upstream line attenuation (dB) 7.5

It looks like I'd be better off on a high stability 34 / 5 -16 profile.

Do you have to have evision to be on a high stability profile? The 30 down is actually fine but I'd like to get 12 up.

Can I call vodafone and request a higher profile?

    Thanks

Low pings seems to be the easiest way to check.

Low pings seems to be the easiest way to check.

    If you have
Actual INP: 29.0 symbols 29.0 symbols

in your modem stats then you should have faster ping responses. That doesn't mean vectoring is turned on though. They enabled G.INP which gives the faster pings. G.Vector is a separate thing but I'm not sure if vectoring is turned on for everyone. The F1000 stats don't seem to indicate (other modems do).

I had a dig around the F1000 via the CLI using telnet to see if I could find out if it displayed "Vectoring Enabled" but could only find in Profiles the supported capabilities which didn't list it. I'm sure I saw a screenshot of another modem make that listed it. Must see if I can dig it out.

Before VDSL, I had 10mbit down, .5mbit up. As my speeds seem to never deviate, I assume I'm on a fixed stable profile as opposed to an adaptive one.
Just checking this evening and my stats have changed a bit:
    Downstream line rate (kbit/s)	40960
    Upstream line rate (kbit/s)	10240
    Downstream SNR (dB) 16.9

Hope to get the Modem on Tuesday now.

Latency is broken on Eniskillen, ignore it. 0Ms aint possible.

Those SNR values are great. Definitely give them a call.

The first woman I talked to said anywhere from 85Mb up, but the woman when I actually ordered said anywhere from 70Mb+.

Also, before when Eircom tried to get me to switch they said I could get anywhere from 43Mb+ pre vectoring.

I am around 400 metres from the cabinet so I think these estimates are correct.

I'll be going from 10Mb so almost anything will be a massive increase!!

More like 0.1Mb when you were with sky. Let us know how it goes on Friday.

Curious how to port forward (for MineCraft) on the Vodafone Fibre Router.

It's pretty straightforward. See pic for my setup. Just be sure to choose the correct dropdown option (R_VID_10) in the interface. It seemed to default to the ADSL instead of VDSL setting when I first set it up, but they have an "Auto" option now so that might have fixed it.

    jan,
I was connected to e-fibre 30/05/2013. I trialled e-vision and have gone through various profiles in the interim. When I discontinued e-vision I was on a 45/15 "fixed" profile. This moved to the final "rate adaptive" profile today which I expect should attain 95 to 100 down, depending on conditions, and a steady 20 up, I've posted historical figures across this and other threads previously. Average latency pre e-fibre was 37ms with 6.80Mbps down and 0.41Mbps up - across a range of servers.

call tech support you have a short on one leg of your line

    Eircom have come out a few times now and given me a few excuses/reasons for the SNR issues with my upload;

    - local RF noise from pole to house, looking into ESB Networks pole which is 'buzzing'. Line passes underground about 1m from the pole.

    - distance from cab. Turns out I'm 1600m from the cab, but I'm getting a stable 30Mbps down but my upload is now wobbling between 2.5Mbps and 3.1Mbps

    - it was mentioned in passing that the line from pole to house should be an RF shielded line. Last tech who turned up said they don't run shielded so looks like I might have to

    Fun times anywho.
