The trick with this song, I find, is to listen to it with some nice earphones. That or a ferocious club soundsystem. It's a devious little song, this.

I like it. Really surprised that it's decent tbh; was expecting a trainwreck. But it's a good single. Hope it does well for her.

According to The Sun, she opens her new song Cold As Fire with the lyrics:

"I'm just the girl with the ability to drive a man crazy/ Make him come in my mouth/ Make him my new baby"
Other sources are saying the lyrics are:

"I'm just the girl with the ability to drive a man crazy/ Make him call me mama/ Make him my new baby"

According to songmeanings.net, it's the slightly less controversial 'Make him call me mama'.

And Cold as Fire is one of the songs that was leaked in the past week, but it's not going to be her new single.

Britney Spears made her comeback at the MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas last night, but dressing in a stripper-like outfit and miming her new single she failed to impress.

Spears performed her new single 'Gimme More' in a black sequined bikini and knee-high boots.

Reuters reported that she moved "sluggishly around the stage", "often with the support of a troupe of dancers" at the Palms casino.

Back on topic I have watched the Britney performance and it was woeful. It was obvious she was just going through the motions and didn't really want to be there, i don't know how but she didn't even mime in time.:rolleyes:

His website receives millions of hits a day and he seems to be working wit MTV now!

Check out his site, it's updated every couple of hours with new stories about celebs and he works off people mailing him photos and stories!

I've seen him on tv a few times and he is classic!!

It wasn't quite as terrible as I'd expected after reading the reports - it was more tragic than awful tbh. A bit of me still believed that she could pull off a killer performance last night, despite the craziness of the last few months. I think it's fair to say I was wrong...

She looks awful! No energy, just going through the motions, not putting anything into it. Her hair doesn't look the best either. Maybe the VMAs were a bit too early to make her comeback, she's clearly not sorted out.

It's being made out to be bad because people are comparing it to her former performances, which were of a much, much higher standard than the one at the VMAs.

People bought into the Britney Spears theing because she was feisty and energetic, they forgave the lip synching because she could dance.

That "performance" was poor on many levels and it just goes to show that you can't just jump back on the showbiz train after that much of a tumble.

TBH it looked like she didn't want to be on stage at all!! The first thing I thought of when I saw it was that she would prefer to be out back drinking away and most of her body language suggested that aswell!

Britney's performance was bad, the comedien on after her totally died, was just reusing old material. In fact, the vmas as a whole weren't great, felt too disjointed. The idea of multiple gigs going on was good but they switched between them way too much.

Its been a while since shes been on a big stage.She did look nervous.She will shake it off though.She is a born performer!

Love her new song.Thought it was only ok at first but you need to listen to it a few times.It was the same with 'Sexyback'

I really do think her album will be big.
I'm loving her new song, even one of my colleagues who is a complete macho type guy was caught by me shaking his head around to it.:)

I love all of Britney's songs so couldn't wait to see her at the VMAs but I really do think it was a case of stage fright and because so much **** has been going wrong for her these last two years. Marrying that good for nothing waster K Fed was the worst decision she could ever have made!

I really like Gimme More, it does grow on you!

Hope she does another performance soon and gets it right
