Just heard the news Rube! Crikey! A boat! A BOAT! Good grief, only you could be hit by a boat on a road! Thank goodness you survived to tell the tale. Hope you are ok. Now write it all down while its still fresh in your frazzled mind, it'll make great reading when you've calmed down. But get the compo claim in first! Oh dear, your poor new car!

I was shocked at the time, after all you don't see many boats charging up the road right at you. And with a windo out the car is bloody cold inside. Couldn't happen in summer could it?

Write it down? Not likely the insurers did all that (between giggles) I think the way I told them must have sounded funny. (I had a giggle myself to be honest)

The odd thing is I never noticed the damage at first I just remember a massive loud bang.

But seriously though, Rubecula, your car did its job - it protected you. It can be replaced but you can't be. Someone is looking out for you - have you considered buying some lottery tickets?

I knew the oul wobblies in here would cheer me up. I have a car for just over a month, I love it to bits and then it is written off by an act of COD then you lovely people have me chuckling away.

It is true it was much better hitting my car than the primary school where the accident happened and yes if I was on my motorbike at the time things would be a tad worse. So I am thankful for small mercies.

Thank you all for keeping my feet on the ground. (Although walking to work was not what I had in mind)

Now who has the tea pot?

Actually that was not my car (thanks for posting Chucken) No my car is blue. But heck two exact same accidents on an island the size of Anglesey in one weekend? As so rightly said Act of God. Who says he has no sense of irony?

Often wonder about the Ark......why rats? And why meeces? Can't see the point of them at all. They add nothing to this earth of ours. I was going to say, why spiders? But they do help to get rid of other creepy crawlies, but I still would like to rid my home of spiders. (Sorry, went off on a tangent there. Deffo someone's messin' with my tea!)

Got my hire car today.

It is a shiny new Vauxhall Insignia, top of the range with leather interior and electric everything. Parking sensors top of the range satnav, bluetooth, the lot.

I hate the thing, just want my car back.

Chucken, I thought no-one was going to ask...:D Well you see I made this warp weighted loom, and while I was researching it I found that a lot of small cylinderical (medieval) animal bones had been found in Waterford and no-one knew what they were for, though they had evidence of fibre polishing on the insides. So while I was sorting the loom I had a thought about how these bones might have been used. I tried it and ta-daaaa it improved the way the loom worked by a significant amount. I was asked to demo the loom at an experimental archaeology conference in UCD last month, and the theory went down quite well. The bones I had used were ok but not really the most suitable so I just yesterday got some deer bones from a local hunter (official, he has a shop!) and am going to try them. Well, its better than doing housework
