Well done to Ray supprised by this i thought KC would nudge ahead seems to put more into hes show and Ross turns up at 6 am unlike Jay on red fm. Has anyone heard what Neil Prenderville got compared to Pj on 96. Big numbers for Phillip Burk and Dave Mc. No mention of Neil the big star.

Both stations claiming to be the No.1 as always.

How do they think they both are?

Not a fan of Ray Foley at all.

How do they think they both are?

Because they probably both are the number one station in the particular metric they're choosing to use to back up their claim for marketing.

Example (not based on real info):
"You're listening to Cork's Red FM! Number one station among under 35's!"
"You're listening to Cork's 96FM! Number one station in Cork city!"
"You're listening to Cork's C103! Number one station for those who can't get 96FM or Red FM!"

To be fair Red are officially no. 1. As previous poster says 96 can claim no. 1 in over 35s etc. But it’s measured in 15+ and Red Fm’s market share for all available adults is ahead of all stations in cork.

96 quite often (and rightly so because it looks good on paper) add C103 and theirs together to say they are reaching X amount. When In reality they are 2nd and 5th respectably.

Hope this makes some sort of sense.

Why who's the biggest fish inside the Pale?
Where they have their own unique sense of humour with radio stars like Jennifer Maguire, Nicky Byrne, Paula Mcsweeney, Eoghan McDermott, Keith Walsh, Colm Hayes, Al Porter and PJ Gallagher 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣.
Leinster banter as funny as syphilis.

Well done to the team but it is only a regional cork station so it's small numbers no matter how you look at them, a long way from a National Broadcaster

Well national or not, at the rate Today FM is losing audience the smaller stations look like a better place to be.

True, but you can always point to something bigger if you want to. Even if he were pulling in 200k listeners on 2FM or Today FM, you could say "Yeah, but it's nowhere near what Radio 1 get.", or if he was pulling in half a million on Radio 1 you could say "Yeah, but it's nowhere near what the lads over on the BBC pull in."

Fact is, they're currently top of the market they actually work in. Nothing else really matters.

Also, sorry for double post but:

Ray said on Thursday's show that Ann Gleeson got the news the other day that she's 5 years in remission. Feckin' brilliant. :)

Nearly crashed the van laughing laughing this morning when I heard Foley talking about the man who left a decent job and is now only the second most listened to breakfast show in Cork..... Brian dobson....
I wouldn't be surprised to hear that KC spontaneously combusted with the very real burn. It was all in good fun.
Genuinely delighted for Ray and the show even though Jay is no JP unfortunately.

Heh, had to laugh at the start of Thursday's podcast. I hope Dave Foxx only charged half price for the re-do of that intro. :pac: :pac: :pac:

Lucky bastards. I have to dust off some other podcasts to fill the void. Man there’s literally an endless supply of podcasts.

Only podcasts from Mon, Wed & Thu last week. None for Friday or Mon yet. Are they off?

No podcasts since Thu 5th July. Are they off again? Can anyone from Cork confirm?

No Rays on but Jays off with Sunburn so a lot of the sketch elements are missing

When Ray goes solo they don’t record the podcast. Prob for the best Foley is better with a companion.

Breakfast with Ray and Jay with the highest figures ever for Red FM Breakfast with 56,000 listeners daily. Now 13,000 ahead of KC on 96FM. Some going!

He’s only managing it the last few years... Cork to Dublin can be done comfortably in 2&1/2 hours now
