Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nah... this is actually my original username from years ago , I used to post over on p45.net (an old rival site to boards that died a death last year)as well as here and on a load of other gaming boards, online games , everything.
When I went to start posting here again back in a few years ago I couldnt remember the password , and the email address I'd used for reference was long gone, so I used a placeholder name , luas_dublin for a week or two until I remembered it.
..and five years later , one quick sub and a name change and its back;)

A smartphone that is neither an iPhone or on the 3 network. Many a time I've missed on some very reasonably priced goodies only to be foiled by my connection.
'not a single notice from adverts today must a slow day. Must check to see if any of those auctions are nearly finished.'
Checks phone and is bombarded with notifications. Some examples-
-Sorry you did not win this item you lost out by 50p on a Megaman X which usually goes for mad prices.
-Amazing NES listing on adverts fully boxed and pucks loads of class games for dirt cheap like.(checks ad) 20000 next in lines on it already!

    Damn you apple and 3!

Anyone got any alternative sources(other than deal extreme) for the lcd screen used in the Nomad screen mod? I cant wait on them any longer :(

This is the one I need:
    http://www.dealextreme.com/p/3-5-lcd-rear-view-tv-dvd-mp4-dual-input-video-monitor-with-dashboard-stand-pal-ntsc-20415

I've found this on ebay but the resolution is different so its not the same one.

Have they provided any tracking details etc to you yet, or has it even been posted? I've not heard of the screen being sold anywhere else...but that ebay one looks identical. Email them & ask them if its the same, they could have misprinted the specs

The first screen was apparently posted and never arrived. The second hasn't shipped yet even though it says its in stock.

I've contacted the seller on ebay to see if the stated resolution is wrong. It does look very like that deal extreme screen.

It seems some ebay sellers lie about details of the screen - http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?11052-Sega-Noman-modding

Hmm, maybe I'd better wait and see if deal extreme can sort me out. At least we know that screen is good and works well with the mod.

I'm picking up my new TV tomorrow, 21" Philips, should be grand.
But I set aside some space for it and popped a crappy 14" in there to see how it goes...
I ended up spending 2hrs trying every shmup I could find, to see if it had Tate modes and, it turns out, I've tons!
    Fun times ahead!

Anyone know where I can get a Commodore 64 Y/C video cable in the UK or Ireland?
I know I can get the cable from http://www.vesalia.de but the postage is more than the cable.

Picked up a very nice condition C64 today but it came with the below cable and no adapter box thing for it.

    DSC_0880b.jpg

I cant test out the c64 until I get a cable now(I thought I'd at least be able to hook it up via RF just until I got the Y/C cable for my commodore monitor).

This is the monitor I have, the 1701.
    Commodore_1701_120v_2b.jpg

I found this one on ebay but not sure if it will work as it comes with 4 connectors and the monitor only takes 3.

Well there's always the Trocadero. But its not what it once was.
Still worth a visit I reckon though.

Casino! They have Darius Burst! (amongst other things) will post directions later, but it's a five minute walk from Tottenham Court Rd. station.

FML. Playing Link: Faces of Evil and really enjoying it. It plays very like an old Dizzy game in how it's structured and you know what **** the haters it's really good. Then I get really far in it and it crashes. Not sure it's a bad iso dump (most CDi iso dumps floating around don't even work) or just a glitch but since I can't save my game all my progress is lost :(

No it really isn't. There's absolutely nothing there now. Only about 5 machines there, all modern games and a bunch of chavs playing pool.

Appreciate the offer but its the Y/C cable I really need as that's the type the monitor takes.

"NINTENDO, Y U FCUKING NOT MAKE POKEMON RED/BLUE/YELLOW SKYRIM STYLE!!!!!"
    /kicks nintendo repeatedly in balls

Seriously. If they did this Id by everything.......repeatedly.....and the consoles.......repeatedly.....

What? Like a 3d pokemon? I think that the new wii and 3ds need an open world pokemon with cross console bits such as the battles and trading, and definatley a mmorpg style mode

Well what can I say, was really enjoying it there once I'd gotten into it. Only big complaint are the jumping controls that are awkward but that's not the game, it's down to how the CDi controllers work. The game does compensate for this though with plentiful continues and checkpoints. It's also got a really nice super metroid mixed with Dizzy vibe to the game.

I rarely get worked up over posts by someone who purposely bought Superman 64 :D

It may be a somewhat ok game, but it's as much as Zelda game as Shadow The Hedgehog is a Sonic game.
