I picked up a few things during the week.
Firstly I got 2 of the Revlon Colourburst lipglosses in Peony and Papaya. Peony is a beautiful delicate pink and Papaya is a more pigmented coral/orange shade. There is tiny bits of glitter in these but they're really finely milled so it's not chunky lumps of glitter,but gives more of a shimmery effect. I did find however that with Papaya, I could feel a slight grittiness on my lips. Not enough to annoy me but some people might not like it.
As glosses go, I don't find them sticky at all, they feel quite moisturising when you apply them. They don't last too long before wearing off unfortunately but it's not a biggie for me. Also I wore them both by themselves and over lipstick. They were fine over lipstick but when I wore them alone, when they wore off they did leave my lips quite dry and uncomfortable until you apply more.:(
Overall though, I do really like them and I am going to get a few more colours. Got mine for €11 in Boots

I also picked up the Chanel VitaLumiere Aqua foundation. I only recently got the Revlon photoready one, which I like but I feel is just a bit too dark and heavy for me during the day, so I've regulated it to my night-time foundation!
The Chanel one is lovely and light but still decent coverage. The woman at the counter reccommended the aqua one to me as opposed to the original one as she said it's better for dry skin. So far I like it (not the price tag though - €38:()

Ooh I was playing with some of them on Saturday, was tempted to get a gorgeous pinky-lilac one but the bf was with me and dissuaded me because, in his words, I have 'about a million' of the same colour. I hate his reasonableness...
Noticed that the lipglosses appeared to replace the lipsticks on the stand though, and as beautiful as the glosses are, I'd be gutted if the lipsticks were discontinued because I love them. Especially Blush. I imagine they're not gone considering they've only been out a year. Still...:eek:0 -

The revlon custom eyes...
Firstly, I know im not gonna have lashes like anything they're advestising but my own are fairly dark and thing so I have a lot to play with.

My e.l.f. package came today!!!
Couldn't have come on a better day, I'm demented trying to write an essay and suffering setback after setback.
Anyway, got 6 things, availing of the 20% off code on their facebook page:

So. The brushes. Only been playing with them about an hour but from first impressions, the two studio ones have the softest fibres of any brush I've owned. I should stipulate that I don't own any higher-end brushes apart from a Smashbox lip brush (I don't know either, I never use it) but I am STUNNED by how lovely they are. I used the powder brush to put on my foundation - Revlon Colorstay in Buff - and that elusive finish that's impossible to get with Colorstay? In about a minute my foundation was airbrush-perfect. Will give updates on how it's working but I am amazed and thrilled by both brushes. The eyeshadow brush from the regular range is also really good, packs on colour much better than the No.7 brush (the paddle-shaped one) I'd been using before.
The Cool Bronzer needs a bit more of a test run; I love that it's matte but I need to do a bit more playing with it to get the hang of it. Much better contour powder than the Golden one which is really better just to add a nice glow to the face. Will update as necessary!
The two blushes are absolutely gorgeous. Blushing rose is a really pigmented cranberry-rose colour that is of a similar tone to the colour I go when I blush naturally. A light enough hand is probably advised. Tickled Pink is a soft pink, not super-pigmented but adds a lovely pinky glow to the cheeks, beautiful colour for us typical Irish girls!
I know I said I'd add pictures but I have no idea how to upload/embed/etc. Kind of technologically backward.
So apologies for that rambling first impression, I tend to have really long posts here but I just get so excited!! If anyone's curious about anything I got please fire away!! 0 -

Have to agree - powder brush + colorstay = perfection. Colorstay with anything else, difficult. I do find the powder brush hard to clean, and one did fall apart on me (getting colortstay out of it is hard) so if you order again it might be worth getting a backup.
Also have Tickled Pink and the complexion brush and very happy with both. Got peachykeen in my most recent order, not loving it, too much gold in it for me. I only have a 50% hit rate with ELF I think.0 -

God, I was feeling worried enough about the prospect of having a broken EUR4 brush on my hands, EUR40 187??? :eek: I would be inconsolable, you poor thing! Did you try to take it up with them for a refund/exchange?
I'm going to test the powder brush for buffing in powder products tomorrow, if I like the finish I'd like to have two anyway, one for powder and one for liquid. I might try the blush brush too, I have one but these brushes are so soft that it'll be worth the punt!0 -

Finally got around to getting a half decent foundation-Benefit's some kind a gorgeous. I'm fairly pale so finding a good match in foundation can be hard this is spot on it blends well and it feels like i've nothing on my face it's so light. Also the nice girl at the counter gave me a sample of Refined Finish Facial Polish(plus one for me sister) and Triple Performing Facial Emulsion I look forward to using these.
I also picked up 2 Catrice eye shadows Dalai Drama and Lobster.

Some bits and bobs i have picked up lately:
nail varnish: essence no. 22 what do you think? its a gorgeous orange colour but its a bit flat looking, so i'm wearing Rimmels n.o 409 Coral crush over it to give it a bit of shimmer .. love it!
blusher: Sleek Pixie pink no.936, i have a couple of Sleeks blushes and bought this one off Ebay it came to about 5euro altogether, a gorgeous pink very pigmented, i apply it with a mac 187.
foundation: Rimmel renew and relift no. 103 true ivory. I always come back to this foundation i usually go a shade lighter but picked this one up for summer, i tried revlon colorstay and it hated me I find this foundation to suit me the best, it has a thick consistency but if blended well it gives a flawless finish and it stays on for hours and hours. its around 11 euro.
tweezers: i finally bought a tweezerman its the pink mini one because i couldnt bring myself to pay 26 euro. kind of raging now that i didnt get the bigger one because the mini is amazing, the big one must be super amazing. My eyebrow hairs are very black and course and the crappy tweezers i was using used to snap the hair and id end up looking like i had shaved them (someone actually asked me did i :mad:) but with this new baby i have none of that.. love love love.
mascara: Essence multi action mascara, this is the third one i have bought.
People always ask do i have fake eyelashes on when i wear it.
eyelashes: the one time i tried to put fake eyelashes on i nearly glued my eye shut but i'm a trooper so i bought chery coles fake lashes they were 6.49euros. It says brand new style on the box, its a white box. they look nice il try them... someday
essence nail polish remover , dont like this, it takes ages to get the nail varnish off and its meant to smell like coconuts but it doesnt it smells like nail polish remover :mad:
garnier intensive 7 day lotion was on sale for 2.49, put it on today after my shower and skin feels super soft and it absorbed really quick, i hate when moistoriser takes foerever to dry in and its all sticky and horrible, this had none of that i will defo buy again.0 -

I used to spend AGES doing my eyebrows but with this there done so quick, it even hurts less!! and apparently i can send it off and tweezer-man will sharpen it for free. 0 -

I got two barry m nail paint in boots yesterday. They're doing two for 8euro, which isn't bad since they're 5 each. Love the formulation, it's creamy and thick, easy to apply and only needed one coat! Tops rimmel for me which I'd been using a long time. I got mushroom and cobalt blue. They've a really lovely colour selection too. I'll be building a collection

I also got the maybelline gel liner. LOVE IT! It's so creamy, easy to apply. The little brush is fab. Highly recommend.
Wanted to get the new maybelline dream touch blush in berry but unfortunately all of the tubs were opened. They had no sample out so I guess people were dipping into the pots on sale which is a bit sick! Need to have a look elsewhere for that.
Finally, debating whether or not to order something for elf. They've another offer on where they give you the 32pc eyeshadow palette free with a purchase of 10pounds. hmmm...already ordered the palette in everyday brights which gives a decent selection of shades....do I really need another 32?? we'll see!0 -

find it very good so far....the little brush is very nifty and great for getting in close to the lash line .Havent used the eyebrow wax yet but i find the eye brightner suprisingly good-its similar it the high beam tbh

This was quite expensive and im not sure if it was worth it??Smells nice but doent seem that intensive if you get me ?I would expect something a little bit better from the body shop

I've been using it fairly regularly and I've noticed my skin feels a lot better; softer, less dry. I was never great at maintenance routines when it comes to my skin, so I'm really happy to have found something that seems to work for me
One word of caution, though; the clarifying lotion (step 2) explicitly states to avoid the eye area. Definitely avoid the eye area! That thing stung like a mofo :eek:0 -

I have two of them, purple and blue. I like them a lot, I don't wear them too often, I tend to stick to my maybeline gel eye liner.
I like the little brush it comes with, makes for easy application. I found I had to use a little bit more product that with the gel eyeliner but I'd say they'll still last for months even so. Once on it stayed on and didnt smudge or anything (I used elf eye primer with it) 0 -
I've been trying out the Seaweed skincare products from the body shop. I got a set with a sample of the cleanser, toner, night serum and moisturiser.
The set was 25 euro which I thought a bit steep for the amount you get. It lasted about 3 weeks. It was all ok, just nothing special. I got it because I've been getting more spots than usual lately and I wanted to try something to get rid of them. Did nothing for the spots!
On the plus side the moisturiser is gorgeous! Made my skin so soft. I've got combo skin and it did wonders for the dry patches.
I had been using the Clinique 3 step before and think I'll go back to it. I think although it's expensive the stuff lasts way longer so you get value for money long term.
Has anyone any suggestions for getting rid of spots? I'm in my mid twenties, feel I should be over them by now!0 -

@Michellenman, can I as which Lush products you use? I have the ultrabland cleanser which I think is fantastic, but I get slightly intimidated asking for help in there; they're so enthusiastic! Which is lovely, but a bit overwhelming and I find I'm very easily talked into buying stuff 0

I use ultrabland in the evening, removes all trace of make up. Then tea tree toner water after to get the last of the ultrabland off. Angels on bare skin as an exfoliator and sometimes as a cleanser after ultrabland if I've worn a lot of make up that day. I have the grease lightening spot gel too which is good on spots
Lush have a forum on the co.uk website, I always ask in there for advice and then go in with my list, otherwise I would come out with bags full of stuff 0 -

Got me some fancy hair stuff over in the USA:
Fekkai Protein RX shampoo and conditioner:
These smell lovely, a bit sweet and the frangrance lasts on your hair all day.
Also got Oscar Blandi Marine Mud conditioner.
This also has a really lovely smell, almost like perfume for your hair and leaves it really soft.
Also bought Stila's Convertible Cheek Colour in Lillium.
I actually like wearing this as a lipstick, it's a nice pinky nude.0 -

Love this thread but my bank balance doesn't!:rolleyes:
A few weeks ago I bought the L'oreal studio secrets smoothing resurfacing primer- It is brilliant! My best buy in a long time! I put it on before my foundation and it makes my skin feel sooo soft, my foundation goes on a lot easier and my foundation and make up in general stays on a lot longer!
I bought Beyond Bronze by Fake Bake instant medium shimmer tan! It gives a lovely colour when it goes on but and I know its a wash off tan but seriously one tiny little droplet of water makes it run!-Very unattractive!! It also comes off very easily onto clothes, it ruined a lovely white top I had :mad:!
I bought this essence sun shimmer brick last year and never used it, but now that the sun is outside I decided to start using it again! I think it cost me about 3euro but its as good as the Bobbi Brown version for a fraction of the price!!
I'm still looking for a fool proof eye liner-I always end up looking like a panda!! So I'm off out to buy the Maybelline gel liner that so many people have recommended here!!0 -

Love this. It defines my lashes really well. Normally would use Bad Gal Mascara from Benefit but this really might take it's place.

Hate my tattoo and I've been getting it lasered off over the last two years.

Urban Decay All Night Setting Spray
Got this in a travel size just to try it. I've only used this once so far on my face but it made me feel like my makeup lasted longer. Used it a lot over the tattoo concealer and felt like I actually needed to scrub really hard to get it off. (Not sure if it's because of the concealer or this though)
Maybeline Fit Me Foundation
Was just looking for a foundation that I could use for minimal day wear. This is good. Normally I use Healthy Mix during the day but this seems to last a little bit longer than that.
Smashbox Photo Finish
I like this primer. Use Gosh Primer during the day but this I use for night wear.

Haven't used this yet because I got a pedicure while I was over there but I've been looking for something like this for awhile. Going to attack my other half's feet some day soon.

The brissles are quite short on this brush so it takes a bit longer to apply foundation with it but gives a nice finish.

I wanted a beauty blender but they were sold out. This is Sephora's own take on it.
