Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I had a can earlier and it was darker than normal pineapple. Scrumptious. I think they put something addictive in them.

I'll have to look into this, one thing you dont seem to be able to get in Laldi,
tinned fruit in own juice, only in syrup :(. Too sugary, sickly tasting.

I'd add to this- its also poison for diabetics. The fruit in its own juice- which you can get in Tesco/Musgrave derivatives- may not be as good as fresh fruit- but it is a tasty treat........

Carte Noir 150grm refill sachets- 4.48
This is the foil packet that you use to refill the jars with.
The 100grm jar is 6.68 and the 200grm jar is almost 11 quid- so if you're happy to recycle your glass jar- its a very good offer (and of all the instant coffee out there- Carte Noir is probably one of the only drinkable ones).......... Offer valid until the 10th Nov.

The 150grm pack in Tesco- is still 60c cheaper than an equivalent 150grm in Dunnes (though you do get glass bottles in Dunnes- if you have a use for them, other than to fill your recycle bin........)

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 32,285 Mod ✭✭✭✭The_Conductor

    18 pack coke/diet coke/coke zero - 7 Euro
Twin pack of 100grm Original salted Tuc crackers - 2 Euro (they're 1.49 each)
    Scala pesto (3 types) 190grm jar + 50% extra free - 2.29
Johnson Mooney and O'Brien rolls- 1.09 for a pack of 6, or 2 packs for 1.50
Nothing worth buying in the alcohol section (anything reduced- is muck that no-one in their right mind would drink- and anything of any interest- is over-priced- in my humble opinion!)

Nothing else really of interest- though they do still have 32" Toshibas @ 239 and 32" Samsungs @ 299........ Decent televisions- at a very decent price- shame about it only being a 32" screen..........

I know that but when someone says about a recycling bin most people think paper and cardboard. People still put glass in them and that's why they don't get emptied.

Anyway let's not drag this more off topic.

well... in most cases in Tesco whenever I have checked the price per KG for a jar of any brand of coffee and for a refill , the refill comes out more expensive at Tesco. This is even more prominent for a refill of their cheaper coffees. Buyer beware.

There were 3 of these shedders at €30 in Athlone this lunchtime. They were on a stand beside the €3.50 lunch deal

Loads of the shredders in Castlebar. Don't seem like great value, only 9 euro off.

I am surprised they have not gone up either. The new stock of tins have some paper label on top of them. I got 1-2 dodgy tins, which were fairly flavourless and a really light colour. All the rest have been grand and a bit darker as you noticed.

I guessed it might just be older pineapples and the pale one was younger less ripe ones, the pale ones were also a bit harder. I like over-ripe pineapples and they do tend to be a darker colour

Tesco in Kilbarrack has loads of household stuff - cleaning sprays, firelighters, firelogs, fabric conditioner - all half price. I don't know how long the offer is on as the shop was nearly closing so I just grabbed what I could.

Check out the washing powder, conditioner, dishwasher tablets, toilet rolls, hand wash, air freshener, bin bags, firelighters, cleaning stuff aisles in your local Tescos.

Lots of products are discounted to 50% off in Athlone.
Some are likely to be discontinued in the future, others are changing packaging or moving to different pack sizes.

Particularly good value are the Tesco own brand products that are already priced on the lower end and are rarely 50% off.

eg. 4 pack Toilet Rolls €1.26(good quality)
    4 pack of Andrex €1.25
    Daisy spray cleaner 26 cent,
Tesco Colour Liquid Detergent 50 wash 3.50 (approx)
Lenor Gold Orchid Conditioner 72 washes 3.84

Hope this help some of you nab a bargain and stock up for a few months.

Sorry - just when you mentioned fire lighters on offer - have Tesco discontinued their value range of fire lighters? We haven't been able to get them this last while, they only have expensive Bord Na Mona ones or cheap Drummer ones which couldn't light if a volcano was erupting! Tesco value one's were actually pretty good!

I picked up Comfort Fabric softener in Tesco , Temple Bar last night.

4.59 euro for 42 washes was scanning at 2.23

3 Euro for 33 washes (i think), Blueberry and Jasmine was scanning at 1.50. 3 euro is the sale price. Normally its like 6 euro for most of the time.

Needless to say I bought a lot of it. I'm going to have nice smelling clothes for the next 12 months.

I tried all the different bottles of Comfort and theres one type which isnt reduced. The Blueberry and Jasmine 33 washes, yellow, white and blue bottles were all reduced beyond what it said on the sticker.

A Christmas decoration scanned wrong for me in Nenagh today, it was a polar bear covered in diamonds- was just passing through and thought it looked nice so picked it up. Label said 5.50 but scanned at 1.08 so bought two. Went to self service but cashier noticed and double checked them- manager said he sort it when he got to it but bargin could still be there or in other places! :D
