Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How Do I lose weight on 300g+ of carbs per day?

so we've gone from eat what you like and you can't get fat. to maximum 150g of carbs to whatever works for you.
no i think most posts decend into do what ever the fuxk you want to do when someone wants to apply personal experience to an overall recommendation to everyone.

Carbs are dictated by how lean and how active you are.

    Very lean (hello abs)
+ strong (if you cant do push ups, pull ups, squat and deadlift at least body weight male or female then you're not that strong)
+ very active (a few walks and pilates classes doest count, properly designed strength work, metcons/conditioning etc)
    = eat many more carbs

How much more? Do a body fat test and check every month to see what you can get away with. I train because i enjoy it and it allows me to eat most things in large amounts (no wheat, very little sugar).

Overall the hormonal model is better to begin with or with people that are not very active, not very strong etc but as you improve this needs to shift in favour of the energy balance model.

Or you could just do what ever the blah, blah, blah or keep asking questions on something most people wont and dont apply past once they pass thurs every week, hey its the weekend already

It explains the theory, but doesnt prove it works!

The only evidence to prove it works is by trying it yourself. I've tried it. I eat this way pretty much all the time. It works for me.

Which, like I said, is great. But you cannot, and should not promote it like gospel because you do not know it works for everyone. It needs a proper explanation and a caveat.

    No.

I've always said eat what you like once it us under 150g of carbs. Obviously this rules out lots of foods. It becomes easy if you eliminate / limit grains, sugars and processed food and drinks.

ive eaten a high fat diet for the last months. 4000 calories, 20 grams of carbs, 150 grams of protein, the rest from fat, every day. I put on 20kg of fat, have CVD but ive gotten better at golf. proof that eating over maintenance makes u fat.

In this forum people come and seek advice. One piece of advice is eat real food to help with your weight issues.

I said if your calories come from real food you won't get fat / and you will lose fat.

I'm told this is nonsense. Can you see the contradiction?

you chop and change so most of the time what you say is clouded.

As generic says you can quite easily gain weight eating low carb diets. if you eat in a surplus. just because you eat real food doesn't mean that it is impossible to gain weight.

True though, eating more unprocessed nutrient dense food makes it a lot easier to eat in a deficit, that is why most people here recommend eating meat fish and veg at most meals when you are limiting your calorie intake because it is easier to get the required nutrients and a higher level of satiety with meat and veg than it is with cakes and pies. .

no matter if you eat 300g of carbs a day or 25g if you are eating surplus requirements your weight will increase, if deficit to requirements then your weight will decrease.

I will eat cakes biscuits and chocolate on a daily basis, and also eat fresh un processed homemade food and can easily control my weight both up and down.

You can drive the ball very far but no one will play with you right.

    Your logic needs updating.
