Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

And as for A&R&Discworld forum, as a massive Pratchett fan I'd do it, sure you'd be cutting cutting your own throat not to! Sausage in a bun anyone?

Mine is what ya see in my pic. 3 discs in a 4 disc box (no cover).
I see that link the cover says "DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY". Wonder if that cover is off a retail display box, if it was the promo cover wouldn't it say promo only? The front of it looks like a standard cover.

Found it in a charity shop in a very small town... not what you would expect to find, I had found FFVI, FFVIII and FF anthology in the same shop a few weeks ago.
Must have been from the same lot but missed it the first time round.... actually didnt even notice it was a promo copy till i hopped into my car :o

edit: found this http://ff7-cloudloku.atspace.com/eng.html some FF collection this guys got.

I love when stuff like this turns up in the oddest if places. Nice find dude. Will you be selling it on or keeping it you reckon?

Some are worth money, others not so much. It's all down to whether collectors want them or not really.

Sure, they don't have booklets or nice artwork, but like promo/beta carts, some of them are rare. Rare + popular product = worth. I'd say Final Fantasy VII being multi disc makes it rarer than your average promo too. Plus you know how mental some Final Fantasy collectors are about stuff ;)

Ill keep it.. although I do go through stages of wanting to sell all my gaming stuff... and then getting all nostalgic and changing my mind.

On a related note, got Starflight for the megadrive last week, bought solely on a old memory of playing it years ago , the game seemed so vast. Haven't got a chance to play it to see if it was as good as i think it was. :D

not sure about the older stuff, but some of the newer stuff can be great. most are just empty game boxes with promo copy not for resale across them, but then you get some great ones, like the God of War 3 one, with a Gold Coin, Scroll etc all in a wooden box with a slash of blood accross it (The Fiancee didnt know what it was when it arrived at the house, she thought there was going to be a finger or something in it). or the GT5 one in a big metal tin with artwork book, art disc and keyring. The one for infamous 2 was great, it was all in a battered envelope with fake photos, a wallet with fake ID and credit card etc like it was sent to you from a lost property office.

Mostly the sony promo media kits are good to be honest.

I fell off big time, I blame Mr Korea & this cheap bandwagon gaming idea :(

    On my next hitlist is:

    Super Probotector,
Jungle Hunt, Venture & the horrific Video Pinball for the 2600
I wanna build up my 32X xollection, & get some more Jag carts too.

TL : DR? = More games needed than I have money to spend on :(

Glad to hear about Defender 2 Cidey, it looks like a massive improvement over the Defender port

Contra 3? Whichever I can source cheapest I shall get. I know there's minimal text in the game, is it playable though from menu/options point of view?

I'm seriously thinking of getting a US Snes too. The games are so cheap & I don't wanna have to use pass thoughs or ruin my PAL one by cutting the cart slot. I can use that for PAL/JP, & maybe get a US one for those ugly carts

Ah I'm only joking, If you can put up with the robots and have a 60Hz switch it's the same game.

Not sure it's worth getting a US SNES, they look horrible compared to the EU/JAP model.

I like the fact that they're an oddity over here, through they are an ugly brute. The actual reason being though, I'm looking at carts on ebay.com lately, the prices are very, very good on comparison

I actually think there's something nice about the design of the america snes. It all square and chunky.
The buttons colours on the joypad are abomination. Its green, blue, yellow and red not some crappy shades of blue.

It's a really nice piece to own. Any idea where it came from? (Other than adverts!)

If it was a dev house in Ireland somewhere then those discs very well could have something interesting on them.

Got a nice little haul today. Chibi Robo Park Patrol on the DS, Sword of Mana on GBA and Warioland 3. That means I have all 5 of the warioland games now and it was 5 euros posted from adverts. I heard Sword of Mana is good but has the new Square Enix problem of simplistic story yet far too much dialogue.

I must get back to Geist. It has an absolutely terrible opening because as an FPS it's absolutely terrible. However once you are a ghost it becomes a lot more interesting. Some of the puzzles are great and the various vision modes for different camera and animals you possess s great. I just wish th idea was revisited by a competent FPS studio.

Not retro game related but definitely retro. One of my new Casio F-91W's beside my hiking watch, some size difference.
Everyone should have a F-91W, you don't need to be a hipster or a terrorist(they famously use them for bombs) and they cost next to nothing.

For some reason the little green bulb that lights up the display reminds me on my childhood :o

It comes in any colour you like, as long as you like black.

Seriously though, if its not black its a fake as Casio only make them in black.
Even though these things are dirt cheap there is a whole fake market for them and it can be hard to spot the real deal.

The Watch site has a decent article on it.
    http://www.thewatchsite.com/index.php?topic=8729.0

    Edit:
Most of the F-91W's you see on ebay are fake, even if they claim otherwise.
The one I got is real, I made sure of that.

Used to get ponces in Gamesworld, back in the day, trying to change the stations on the store monitors, in the console display cabs, dim-wits!

I have had a whole host of digital watches, not a remote but one of those Data bank ones from the 90's, a classic Casio as seen above.
Then, for a good 10 years, I gave up wearing a watch at all, seeing as my phone had a perfectly good time display.
But, upon changing to a smart phone, the battery life is so rubbish that I may as well get a watch again, so here we are! Got one for my birfday and wearing it ever since.
Kinda hard to go back to them, they feel weird and tight on the wrist..
