Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My 3 boxes are actually in Tamworth UK this morning. Most have been an overnight flight from Germany considering 1 box was still in transit to UPS yesterday afternoon from Hardwareversand. Delighted good chance be here on Monday which is one of my days off next week :D

I spoke to them earlier and the guy stated that he would speak to a colleague about changing the case with no extra charge even though it was a small model but had a window and cable management.

I want the deliver to go out today so rang him back during lunch and another guy said they were getting the parts ready for a delivery leaving today. He told me I should get my delivery number by email.

I stood fast on my case i ordered it was the one part that was holding up shipment. Lots of people say different but a case is an essential piece of a computer for me.

As frustrating as it is I'm prepared to wait on all my parts. It took me 2 months of research, selecting and price comparing to get this far. A few more days won't kill me. Maybe.

That exactly what i did.I chopped and changed parts over weeks based upon reviews from well established sites and forums etc. I mean 2 weeks ago i never even heard of Super Flower as a PSU manufacturer. Stick to your guns and hold out. On a side note Tamworth is close to Birmingham why there surely a London airport for cargo? Weird nvm. UPS should be Ireland at this stage been in Tamworth far to long

This is what i'm experiencing atm if anyone else is a bit addled in future. Think a truck takes over from there to get to Ireland so maybe a bit more time added on to reach Cork. Still fingers crossed on Monday delivery.

Everything arrived Monday afternoon. All in good order no quibbles well packaged and machine booted first go. Minor inconvenience was the case and monitor shipped with a German 2 pin power plug. I had none in my house but my brother had loads so easily sorted. All on all very happy.

  • Registered Users Posts: 462 ✭✭lunacyfoundme

Mine has been delayed again as the DVD writer is out of stock again. This is the second time the restock date has slipped. Its supposed to be in tomorrow. If its not I'll ring them and tell them to drop it from the order and deliver the rest.

I think it's ridiculous in this day and age that the stock levels on the website arent always correct. If you place and order and the items are in stock it should guarantee you the items.

My goods are currently in Tamworth. UK. Due Wednesday. They might arrive tomorrow at the progress they've made.

I'm trying to put through a bank transfer now (first time using the site) but noticed that the name they tell you to put in as beneficiary (hardwaresvand.de GmbH) won't all fit, all I can fit is hardwaresvand.de, will this be ok or are those letters at the end important?

It shouldnt matter because it'll be their bank account

  • No Issues with hardwarevesand,de for me personally.

However friend of mine is buying for his son, and will not pay via bank transfer. It's paypal or nothing for him.

Any recommendations on who would be next in line? Overclockers.co.uk??

  • Registered Users Posts: 462 ✭✭lunacyfoundme

Don't know how many of these retailers use paypal they usually have their own solutions to pay by credit card. Pricewise it might be Komplett.ie or you could try Pixmania.ia. Haven't ordered from Overclockers in years but I got my GFX card from Scan.co.uk and it was a decent price, delivered in two days.

They can pay through Realex Payments. ;)

The money has been transferred but I've had no email update on my order, it has only been a day..

It looks (by going through this thread) that delivery time tends to be 10 days (including weekends)

Anyone received builds sooner? (Built now, not just components)

Hi guys, something very odd has happened to me. This is what my order status reads:

    2014-12-02 at 18:49 Online-Order
2014-12-02 at 19:13 The order was cancelled.
2014-12-02 at 19:14 Your payment conclusion via PayPal was confirmed us.

So apparently the order was cancelled right before my payment went through? Who cancelled it and why? I have sent them an email but haven't got a reply (probably out of hours). If anyone knows what's going on do let me know!

Could be a bad translation. Some of their emails and mesages are badly translated.

Reassuring, though the cancellation sentence seem like a hard one to get wrong. The payment is still in limbo at the moment.

Anytime I emailed it took ages to get a reply. I think if you ring you'll get through straight away. Ask for an English speaker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 429 ✭✭IrlMonk

    Yes definitely ring
I sent 3 emails for an order modification and got no replies. I eventually had to ring them and the chap said that they probably would not have got to the email on time because they are so busy, or something to that effect.
I asked him to email confirmation of the modification but it has not been sent to me.
Shipped today, I hope they have done the changes to the order after 3 emails and two phone calls.

Best to ring them and ask. You could see if there is an alternative item.

I couldn't even wait for the part, the motherboard isn't even on the site anymore so I had to order from amazon.it, it cost a bit more but it was the board I wanted. Fairly bad experence for my first time ordering through them.:(

Mine arrived today after being dispatched Wednesday evening. They seem very hit and miss regardless. I think their stock checker on their site is completely and utterly wrong.

Yes I meant to update but have been far too busy playing Far Cry 4 on Ultra at 60 fps.

Parts arrived on Thursday about half 2. Building a PC is far easier than I remember, people shouldn't buy pre-builts from retailers at all.

Re the stock system, by their own admission the HV stock levels aren't always up to date. I think it's absolutely shambolic for a large scale retailer to have a stock system accessible to the public for the purpose of sales not updated in real time.

I don't think you could use them if you had to be certain of stock levels and delivery dates.

I agree about the stock system but as soon as I called them on the Friday about changing my tower to the similar model with a window and cable management, they told me that I wouldn't need to pay an extra fiver for it, even though I was willing to, and they sent it out that evening. It was delivered the following Wednesday. I'm pretty happy with them tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 399 ✭✭jamesk014

Used them myself about 4 months ago for a total of €600. just went into a branch of who I'm with (Ulster bank) and was as easy as giving the info HWVS give you and you accepting t and c and choosing wheather to pay a small few to rush the exchange or wait a week I think it was without. once they receive it the process the order I think once they got mine it was a week to arrive at my door not a crincle in a box or anything.

    Nice, what specs is it?

I'm buzzing to play Far Cry 4
