Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You knew it was coming!:D Now Discuss.

Personally, I'd say so, and I'm proud to say I was once a Malted Ice (Tea) Cream. :)

Strictly speaking Ice Cream isn't alive (although some would dispute that!) but it would be an atheist because it doesn't believe in God. However whether or not it's an atheism is a little more perplexing and we have to get pensieve out on that one. . .

Does this mean that Agnosticism is Ice-Cream with Jelly?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,537 ✭✭✭joseph brand

I would guess that religion is vanilla, whereas Atheism is every other flavour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,364 ✭✭✭✭Kylo Ren

Right so Vanilla is religion, therefore atheism is chocolate. We can also say from this theory that agnosticism is neapolitan. It takes into account religion (vanilla) and atheism (chocolate) while having its own spin on things (strawberry)

    WTF am I even doing?

Most codies would disagree. Atheism is reality vanilla, every flavour and modification that was made after is religion.:)

It depends on the type of ice cream I suppose.

Don't forget that Neapolitan ice-cream can be claimed by the Catholics (the father, the son, and the other fella).

    Hmmmmm, Neapolitan ice-cream.
    I'd convert:

Yes, typical atheist method of confusing the proletariat.
A lot of people may think that Atheism is an ice-cream and hence a good thing, since it's phrased as a statement.

For thee, I shall make this one and only concession. The title amended now it be.

You see, when you were a child you only had a little cone, and it was easy to fill. Now, as an adult with a much bigger cone, your faith in ice cream needs frequent topping up with chopped hazlenuts and banana.

Feck. I got it wrong. Atheism is a lack of ice cream.

    Sorry for any confusion.

I was thinking that vanilla represented blinkered tunnel vision religion, whereas Atheism opened the mind to reality (all the other flavours).

Maybe it's the Black Bush I'm drinkin, I dunno. :)

Such censorship by closed minded atheists they may close our threads but they may never steal our minds. I hope that one day you see the light an accept Vanilla as the one true flavour of everything.

Why does it have to be Vanilla?
Why is god always depicted as white (in the movies and pictures I've seen of HIM)?
    Typical white=good nonsense.

We should give the other colors a chance.
    How about Chocolate ice-cream?
Give the 'coloured' gods a chance. (That might not be politically correct).

Because the Universe before it was patched with Eden and The fall was Vanilla.

Could actually be something in this. A valhalla/vanilla link perhaps? Where all the good vikings were granted eternal vanilla? And all the bad ones got frozen yogurt?

Also, if post-count-wise we do this again 10 more times we'll have caught up with the non-parody, and ice cream will have won.

Not sure what, but something may be demonstrated....

It's all about quality not quantity but Jelly and Vanilla must win for there to be a balance in the Universe.

Chocolate is far too zany to be a metaphor for religion. Vanilla is plain and commonplace. Mass never had tropical flavours or sprinkles. No excitement, just dull plainness. Much akin to Rich Tea, or Morning Coffee biscuits.

Blessed are the rich in tea, for they will something something mumble crumbs.

Atheists have no ice cream, just a dry wafer cone. They are happy to eat the cone, even though some of them would like to have ice cream.

Theists also have no ice cream, but they believe do, even though they can't see, hear, smell or taste the ice cream. And they have been known to kill each other over what flavour it is.

Pascal knows he doesn't have any ice cream either, but he really likes ice cream, so he is willing to pretend there is ice cream just in case.

Buddhists don't care whether they have ice cream or not, they eat it anyway. It tastes yellow.

I'm sorry, I see no conclusive evidence that atheism is an ice cream so I shall have to remain atheistic in my position towards to proposition that atheism is an ice cream.
