Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

ET 136 which will make up part of Atlantis' stack on STS-132 makes it's way onto the barge which will transport it to KSC. It's due to arrive early next week.

She'll be processed after STS-132 in case she's needed for a LON flight or STS-135 gets a green light but i'm not expecting that to happen.:(

hey LL,I like that mission patch!
Atlantis showing its rear end to those who finished her,how appropiate:)

I hope its Launch On Need is to rescue Bush jnr,Augustine,obama.........et al, that were involved in 'the end of NASA' from their unexpected Kick into orbit from all NASA lovers, which i am now currently processing!;)

Oh and if the last two Astronauts name on that list: Good Sellers could not get an extension,Who can?

I like that mission patch a lot. It's very simple, basic even, and i'd like to think it's showing the sun setting on Atlantis as she sees out her final mission.:)

I was looking at the hi-res of that yesterday. There's a few astronauts(other than STS-132 crew) in there too and some other NASA personnel. I like this one a lot but i'm also a baseball fan so that helps.:)

If by flight readiness its still on for the 14th May, I'll post some pics from the Cape.

Please do. My advice would be to by a cheap tripod and mount your camera on it and put it on burst mode or auto mode if you have it. That way you can watch the launch with your own eyes. That's what i done and even though i only got pics up until it cleared the tower it was worth it to be able to watch it with my own eyes.

Be bringing a 70-300 lense, so should end up with photo at this range.

I'd a 45-200mm lens and got reasonable pics. I was reluctant to buy a bigger lens as i'd never get the use out of it.

Here's a couple of examples of mine.

Yeah,it was. Great view of the Orbiter as it sits on the pad and you could see it up until Booster sep.

Rollover to the VAB now set for Tuesday 13th.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 3,645 Mod ✭✭✭✭Beeker

Rollover still scheduled for tomorrow with Rollout to the pad set for Tuesday 20 April but talk of moving that forward to Monday 19th, the same day as the 131 landing. Could be a busy day at KSC:)

Rollover of Atlantis to the VAB due at 12.00. Not sure if there'll be any coverage as Discovery and EVA 3 is getting all the coverage at the moment.

Oh she does! I'll be sad to see her go. The way it's going i don't see STS-135 getting manifested so i'm treating STS-132 as her final hurrah.:(:(

If STS135 happens becuase they dont want to waste a fully setup Shuttle, then who would the LON be for them? Vicious circle?

There was talk of the Russians using a Soyuz as a rescue vehicle if needed. ISS would have enough supplies to sustain a crew for the time needed to send a rescue vehicle.Apparently they could configure the orbiter to undock from the ISS and set it a course to re-enter the earths atmosphere and burn up over the ocean. That's a worse case scenario obviously.
