Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

Just moved into new house that has a homeguard alarm. Could anyone help with how i go about changing the code? I don't have any manual or engineers code but i do have the previous owner's user code.
thanks so much for any help

  • Moderators, Home & Garden Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 24,789 Mod ✭✭✭✭KoolKid

    Not the easiest to do.
I sent you the manual for that, have a look over it and come back if you have any questions.
If the engineer or user is not the default codes you will have to default and reprogramme the panel.

Is it possible to set the alarm without the tones beeping every time you hit a key on the keypad? Or even better, is there a way to mute the keypad press times altogether?

    Thanks in advance

No I do not think so......you are referring to the little beep each time a Button is pressed?

yep, exactly. They are quite loud and sometimes disturb my son when we are setting alarm at night. Would be handy if could silence them

Not an option on such an old system I'm afraid. Newer panels are very flexible with regards this stuff.

Hi, Just joined to see if I could get some help with my Scopetronic Homeguard alarm.
Moved in a few years ago ad was given code by previous owners but no instruction manual, but managed to work out roughly the basic functions. However about a year ago the alarm went off by itself even without being set for no apparent reason. Not knowing what the codes meant, I went through a process of elimination and discovered it was the battery so it was changed.
How ever move forward a year and its happening again, randomly sounding off. I found this thread and downloaded the manual (thanks) which gave me the codes which were PF tl tb, after disconnecting the battery the PF has gone and also the bell tamper has gone (?) but the panel lid tamper still remains, so any ideas please ?.
Also is there a way to change the arm/disarm code as I would like to put my personnel no. in, there nothing in the manual so would there be an installation/engineer code for this alarm.

    Thanks in advance. Regards

Would it be possible to get the installation manual for the HKC SecureWave 1080?

Up until now I have been figuring things out by going through the menus, so the annual would be a big help. Thanks in advance
