Lass from 1905. Rocking a wristwatch. Or "wristlet" as they were known. Not suitable for men. Oh no.
She doesn't have the fancy swing lugs of yours mind you.
Here's a 1917 Zenith* with those lugs.
So a long design history you have there on your wrist. And funny enough the most "true" to form "Ladies watch" you could wear. Can't go wrong really SP.
*Not mine sadly, though I do have a couple of Longines with swinging lugs from that time.Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I thought I’d buck the Michael Kors ladies watch trend
That Zenith is beautiful. The lugs on mine don’t actually swing, they’re fixed.
My last watch was a 1901 beauty that was a pocket watch but was converted to a wristwatch. My parents had it fixed for me for my 21st birthday and I wore it to death.
Then, along came my daughter many years later and over wound it. I brought it back to watchmakers and he told me they no longer can get parts to fix it so I’ll have to go further to have it repaired.
In the meantime, I’m loving the Ingersoll. No bells and whistles just simple.

I have my grandads pocket watch which I too, over wound. Must get pictures and when I last looked there were whole movements available on eBay. I know a good horologist to do the work, just need the funds and to remember at a better time than 1am.
I did chuckle when I opened it to have a nosey. Gold case/chain/sovereign and the cheapest movement possible inside.
Both your watches are gorgeous and the broken one deserves to be repaired.0 -
Picked up something a little different. Portuguese brand Prometheus, founded in 2008 and specialising in divers watches with minimum rating of 300m.
This is their Piranha model with a 500m rating, the respected Miyota 9105 (hacking, hand wind, etc) movement. Case is just on my limit at 44mm but wears smaller I think.
Lume strong enough to use as a flashlight
Have a couple of nice straps to go with it to give me more versatility.

Haven't been in here in a while but been using this beast for work and a lot of daily use. It's just so resilient and takes so much use and abuse especially for teh working day as well as feels nice in teh hand.
All for €10 from Amazon so easy replacement
Might get something like the W-800H-1AVES for daily non work use as I like these Casio digis0 -

my mini obsession with micro brands/boutique manufacturers continues :pac:
picked up this Armida A1 and its a beauty.. 42mm, double domed sapphire, eta movement. Came with vintage leather strap, rubber strap and super engineer bracelet.
Couple of quick pics until I have more time to try the other straps!

Made in Hong Kong and shipped from there. The Armida A1 42 is from USD349 incl shipping but excluding Irish duties / VAT. It has an ETA 2824-2 movement. All the details on their website

No you're right. The A1 45 has the ETA 2824-2, but it starts at USD699 - all of a sudden not such a good value watch anymore, but not outrageous either
The A1 42 has the Seiko NH35picked up this Armida A1 and its a beauty.. 42mm, double domed sapphire, eta movement.
What's their return policy, Homer?
