Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Need some advice/help

I'm looking for some advice about getting into a usual routine of going to the gym. I was wondering if someone could give me advice on a good gym programme, diet and what supplements would be good to take, and before anyone says it I know supplements aren't essential but I have friends who are regular users and say the gains are quite noticeable.

I'm 20 years of age, standing at 5 ft 9 and weigh roughly between 62-63 kg. I used to of average build but became very sick and lost a lot of weight. Post my weight lost from sickness I then jetted off to the Greek Islands for 2 months which didn't help any further as those two months consisted of heavy drinking and crap food.

I am now looking to put back on weight and bulk/tone up and all advice is appreciated. I am currently in CIT and can avail of the free gym when ever I wish but would also be willing to join else where as at times CIT can be a bit overcrowded and uncomfortable. Thanks in advance for replies.

    Read the stickies.
I'm looking for some advice about getting into a usual routine of going to the gym.

Day 1: Go to the gym
    Day 2: Rest.
    Repeat.

If you eat well you won't need supplements until you start making progress.

The stickies have a lot of info about diet, read this one and look in particular at post 4 and 9 - actually just pay attention to all of it.

You are looking to build strength? Try starting strength or strong lifts. They are simple beginner routines that focus on big compound lifts with linear progression.
