Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You logon to the Nikon website, fill out an online form. They ask you to upload electronic copies of the original receipt (proof of purchase) and the warranty card filled out (has your serial number on it). You wait 10 days and they send you €25 on a Visa Debit card.

    I paid €390 for this about 2 weeks ago...gutted.

You happy with the actual camera?

Buy it again and return it with the old receipt within the 28days from the first purchases - you'll get it at the new price then!

It was a gift for herself and she's more than delighted with it. I didn't know a lot about photography but I originally picked it out based on a lot of reading up and great reviews/recommendations I'd seen online for it so I know its a pretty decent bit of kit. Also bottom line, its a Nikon so you have all the back up and support of a well known brand and AFAIK can upgrade the lens as you wish since it has standard Nikon fittings.

I think electronics are excluded from their 28 day return,
When I clicked the ops link, and tried to reserve it ws giving an error(doing it on my phone)
Then when I view it on the athos on the computer, via searching for it it would should the price as 269 but when I click on it, it then jumps to 389... Takes a few clicks to get it at the 269...

The only thing to note with lenses is that they have to have their own autofocus motor, as the D3XXX and D5XXX series cameras don't have motors in the body.
No big deal, loads of lenses available.

I paid a good bit more than this last year for this camera. I would definitely recommend this camera for beginner photographers. I absolutely love it!

As a complete Newbie what does a VR lens give you over a non VR Lens ?

was looking at an EOS 1200D before i saw this but now i'm even more confused...too much choices.

Vibration reduction. It'll compensate for very small movements of the camera and allow you to take photos at a slower shutter speed without blurring. You'd have to be very slow (under 1/50th of a second) to see the benefits of it at 18-55mm.

Few people obviously bought them for adverts... , or plan on getting their reservations when someone buys it.
Haven't picked up mine but dono if the camera not having it own motor will be a big problem getting other lenses?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,932 ✭✭✭ActingDanClark

The lens is non vr not the camera

I know the lens is not vr, didn't someone say above that the d3200 model camera doesn't have a built in motor so choices are limited on lenses as ya have to with one that has a built in motor for the auto focus?

Only if you want to buy some older lenses. Most have motors these days, but may be a little more expensive.

I preordered 2 of the Nikon cameras in Tullamore but I only meant to order one.

Not sure what. Can do as there is only one reservation code for the accidental double order :(

At least Argos will re advertise the spare one after the collection time deadline expires.
