Anybody having a punt on the Russia vs USA game? The bookies and most pundits favour USA but having watched the Russia vs Italy A game in the Churchill Cup I can't help but feel that there could just be a slight chance of an upset. PP have Russia at 12/5 but like the Scottish match, it's probably one to avoid - should be a cracker though. :D

very tuff to call went with

    In your dreams! :D
I hink he meant that if he was going for NZ +54 he would need the price to fall to NZ +44 to make him as confident as he would be

Could be very tight. 22/1 for the first draw of the tournament is worth a couple Euro to cover yourself I'd say.

Clever 6/1 for man of the match, the guy is a hero plain and simple. If this is the game USA are targeting for a win then I imagine we're in for one hell of a performance from him.

Also Clever first try scorer each way @ 12/1. If USA get the jump on them in the first 10-15 minutes and camp near the line he'll be backing himself to get over.

Thats where my tenner is goin anyway.

I'd be very doubtful on the Japan one tbh. Second string Japan against an almost full strength NZ team in NZ? Can't see anything other than a landslide win for the Kiwis. Mind you, my spread bets so far have been awful!

Good luck with the accum anyway.

I hope that you've wasted your €10 - even with the withdrawal of Carter, McCaw, Dagg and Muliaina - I'll be seriously pissed if the boys don't bury Japan.

The forecast is for rain and the Hamilton webcam http://www.hamiltonweather.co.nz/ shows things looking pretty miserable. The stadium doesn't have a roof so Japan (+55) at evens might be safer.

Burning money cannot see the blacks scoring less than 65 and see how hard Tonga had too work for 1 try cannot see japs scoring 10 pts why i lumped on all blacks -54pts at evens bet365

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,053 ✭✭✭Gracelessly Tom

Lumped on NZ -54 @evens. Have been getting these badly wrong so far so anyone else who backed them should be fearful for their money!;)

shouldn't matter imo. Japan wont be able to front up physically for more than 60mins. New Zealand will put another two tries in this half and go to town in the second

    The reason I didn't take NZ-54

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

I don't think it will matter, Japan's dimunitive forwards will be completely shagged after 60 minutes. I can see NZ running in 30+ points in the 20.

    what a difference 10mins makes

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,053 ✭✭✭Gracelessly Tom

Think my money is safe anyway. This could turn into a real tryfest in the second half. Japan are weakening already and I can see a huge points total for the Kiwis.

Henry will empty the bench within 10 mins of the second half I reckon. Sonny Bill will love the holes in midfield!

Ireland are 4/1 to beat Australia on PP now. They were 10/3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,881 ✭✭✭PhatPiggins

Austraslia - 11 is an early Christams present. If we improve by 100% from our last 5 games we might only lose by 15.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Won a nice bit on NZ so I'm putting a €5 of my winnings on Ireland to win.

If your backing Ireland to win then winning margin 1-5 @ 8/1 is good value. Exact winning margins are worth a look too. They wont win by any more than a score imo.

    Ireland by
    1-5 @ 8/1

    6 @ 50
    7 @ 50

Will Genia two tries @ 33/1...looks very tempting.

Any thoughts on Wales vs Samoa? Could Tuilagi run riot again - probably not as I have him at 45/1 for three tries. :D

    Double result.

    Wales - Samoa 11/1
    Samoa - Wales 6/1

    Fiver on each.

Have a fiver on the RD12 this weekend

    Scarlets (+11)
Fionn Carr to score a try
    Edinburgh (-5)
    Ulster (-5)

Most worried about the chances of the Scarlets being thrashed by Munster... :/

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,976 ✭✭✭profitius

Munster/Ospreys double. You'll get about 4/5 for it. The Ospreys are a dodgy team to back but they should have too much class for Treviso.

hope he tap dances past williams and scores another 3, and goes to top try scorer and wales get on the plane.

I do love the Tuilagi tap dance:

Step 1, smash defender with shoulder or hand off
Step 2, trample defender into the ground
Step 3, shake defender off boots like piece of paper

Fiji total points over 15 10/11 Betfair
    Australia -11 10/11 Betfair

Ireland out to 9/2 to win, with Pocock and Moore now missing they're good odds.

Poor prior planning produces piss poor performance - again - I knew Pocock was doubtful last night but didn't know about Moore or I would have piled into Ireland -9. As it was I stuck a few quid on -9 this morning and it helped reduce my losses on Aussie try scorers/1st half points/and Aus by -11. Who cares about the money anyway - I haven't enjoyed a game so much in years. :D
