Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Fear not.

Do what most kiwis do. Come to Australia. Sign on and screw our wimmins.

    No dramas really

But why would you want to go back?

Talk to Xavi6 man. He works a couple of hours a week and spends the rest of the time basking beside the pool or chatting up chicks at the beach.

the ONLY reason im on this side of the planet is to be iwth my fella. so not being allowed in the same country as him is a big bad thing.

so the reason id want to go back is so's i could be with him. and that xavi bastid probably has some sort of fanceh edumacation that makes countries like him.

Don't be taken in by Xavi6. He is a con artist and a pimp. Nevertheless he is successful at what he does :D

So anything exciting happen the weekend?
I was suppose to go to races but that was washed out - instead just drank myself silly in the city - great craic
    :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,898 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Went to the races on Saturday myself for 'work'. There was an industry awards ceremony on that I had to cover.

Yesterday went up north to Yanchep and Two Rocks for the afternoon. Did a bit of sunbathing. Watched the match last night in the Perth Man City supporters bar.

Went camping at the weekend...good craic. We bought a tent which is ridiculously big. I can't believe the size of the tents these days. It would comfortably sleep 8 and it was only about $290.

Ha yeah it's the business. Watched Chelsea/Arsenal on it last night.

On Saturday I had the Boro game on TVU and the Villa game on Justin.tv. Both windows side by side. Both finished 0-0

i don't sunbathe. i surf. unfortunately, im not good enough at it that i can do it at night and avoid the sun altogether.

found a picture there of me exactly a year ago, and im so pale, the sun is just reflecting off me... im now beige, with nicely tanned freckles from the sleeves down, and neck up.

    *sigh*

Immigration drama does not seem to be subsiding. I haven't heard a peep from Immigration, meaning my application has not been assigned a case officer and is going nowhere. Seeming as it's xmas soon I think we can safely say no work is being done in there at the moment and it is very unlikely I'll have my residency by May.

I can get a temp work visa which is valid for two years. I'm going to apply for that as soon as I can - just to keep me sane. Problem is it's another $280 and having already spent over $1100 on my residency application I'm reluctant to hand over more money to them, especially as that when my residency does come in I have to give them another $300 just to get them to put stickers in my passport. If I apply for the work permit and get residency soon after I'll have to fork out all my hard earned cash.

I wish I'd just applied for the work permit in the first place but I honestly though residency would not take this long and it would be better all round to have residency in NZ.

Grrrrrr. I feel better after a rant anyway. At least I'm not going to be deported (yet) but it honestly is so so frustrating.

I got my permanent visa papers for application on Monday. I have to return everything in two months from date of letter. Which is fine, except I'm moving house in less than two weeks, plus there's Christmas, plus the summer holiday... Watch this space, for when I return in 6 weeks howling that I have no time to do anything.

arrgh, sorry to hear, watna, you know my heart goes out to you on that one...

so ****ing expensive, it's unreal. ive a horrible feeling im gonna have to do extra health requirement tests for my aussie WHV as well, which, i can't help but think will cost money too. :(

Interesting night last night. Some loon decided to drive a 4WD into the police station around the corner. He'd loaded the back of it with loads of flammable stuff and the whole place went up. $500,000 worth of damage.

Have you managed to get the mini wireless camera sorted yet?

My OH has pervin glasses. He tells me when he sees hot girls!

Anyone think we should mess with the drunk guy in AH a bit? We could do a few pronged attack and get inside his head!

Just about to wrap it up for the day. By the time I get home he will most likely be crashed in a drunken stupor. What cracks me up is that he keeps thanking people that are obviously bagging him.

Got a Christmas present from my boss today.

It's an ipod touch. I can honestly say it's the best present I've ever got. For the first time in my life I was really speechless. I'm syncing it now and am so excited. I've been saving for one which my boss knew so it was so thoughtful.

So my day pretty much rocked! :D

Think we're doing that too. It'll be a trip to the $2 shop for me!

Oh's present is mainly from the $2 shop. I bought him a stocking and put lots of funny things in it. I also got 2 good computery things he wanted that are really small so they're going in the stocking too!

By the time you see your parents you will most likely be so excited to see them that you will forget about your hangover. They will probably be a little jet lagged too so relaxay vous :)

I think I need a sunbathing lesson off Xavi. I sat on the beach for 20 mins yesterday and now I'm absolutely roasted. 'Lobster' doesn't even describe it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,196 ✭✭✭Crumble Froo

watch it mate, at least 4 times more likely to get skin cancer living here than most other places in the world.

and aww :( the only thing that was making me feel really positive about going to melbourne was all the surfing i'd get to do. now ive discovered a pretty bad ding in my board, letting in the water and the sand... gonna cost nearly as much as the board did to fix it, now the question is... do i do that, or sell it and buy a new one?

man, i *DO NOT* need that kinda expense now, im outta work till probably february

Personally I would sell it and pick up another board when you get here. You will probably pick up a board for a resonable price on Ebay in pretty good condition if you can't afford a new one straight off. So when are you planning on making the move because Autumn is a great time to surf here?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,391 ✭✭✭One Cold Hand

Lol! Didn't mean to kick you! Just making sure you don't get a nasty surprise when you get to the airport!
There's always a few boards on Gumtree, I'm thinking of getting one myself. Saw one the other day which said "For sale - 6'2" board: Perfect for beginnner". I had to laugh!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,196 ✭✭✭Crumble Froo

^ lmao, 6"2, perfect for a beginner... when i told my instructors (who im quite friendly with at this stage) that i was getting a 7"4 fibreglass one (as opposed to nsp), they made funny faces and asked me if i was sure that was a good idea :D a 6"2 would turn you off trying to learn!

brought it in to the repair guy today, he reckons it's defniitely salvagable, will definitely be able to repair it and keep it going for a few years yet, and probably still sell it and get the same price for it that i got it for (though admittedly, i have spent a lil bit on repairing a small ding,a nd the footrope). but he did also joke that there was so much water in tehre we could probably put a fish in there. basically, ive to put some holes in it, get all teh water out and let the whole thing dry up, then he can repair it for a hundy. in the meantime, i jsut gota duct tape up the left rail whenever i go out, and let it all out when i get back in :D poor eddy's gonna look a right state, but it'll work otu :)

yeah, contemplating picking up another board in oz, supposed to be more widely available, and consequently cheaper there... adn ill be over in melbourne this weekend, adn then moving properly on the 15th :)

Parents just left after visiting for two weeks. We had the most fab holiday - really good but I'm so depressed now. My holiday is over, I have to go back to work and I don't know when I'm going home or when I'll see my parents again. :(

Why is NZ just so far away?

The only solution is to drink a bottle of wine. We went wine tasting in Marlborough for a day on bikes (Seriously, do it!) so at least I have a lot of wine to choose one. I think I bought a bottle in every vineyard we visited!

@Crumble... I'm too depressed to write a long pm but my battery went before Christchurch and I had no charger with me (smart, I know!) so I couldn't get in touch. We were only there new year's eve anyway so I didn 't have much time. I'm going back the Ch Ch in June on a mini holiday with a friend from work so how about a mini boards beers then? We can see is there anyone else around then.

ahHA! im flying virgin/pacific blue, and apparently they just treat all surfboards as 5kg, so as long as the rest of the luggage isnt more than 15kg, we're all gravy :)

it'll come. look on the bright side... you have work, just keep saving it up, and you'll never know what 'll come your way. dont end up like me, with no money, and nowhere to go! not a good lifestyle.

haha, awesome. ok, so i hate wine. but been to a winery in kaikoura (for a wedding) and one at rossendales in chch, for work with dinner. dinner with work. whatever. and were quite nice locations. dinner at rossendales was made more interesting, as twas a posh place, and one of the company was dressed entirely as a reindeer (courtesy of the warehouse), in order to get us to pay for his meal :D

    oh noes!

ok, ill do my utmost to be allowed back in teh country by june!

your application cost $700 cos twas a residency one, right?

so work sponsored by partnership will cost less, right? right?

dammit, ive been avoiding ringing them for so long.

gotta ring soon and figure out if i can use the medical results of my last medical, cos i do NOT have $400 to shell out on another one.
