Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Glad you like them. I thought the churchhills were interesting. Never knew Ireland ever had tanks.

At what point during the deployment did the Irish contingent get issued with the FN FAL. Parade photo show the Lee Enfield.

Was it changed because the Defence Forces were upgrading or for operational reasons.

Either way a tough gig but they are/were tough men.

Hats off and Respect to them all.

As far as i know the FN FAL was issued later. They deployed with the Lee Enfield.

As said, hats off to them. They were doing a tough job and suffered a lot of loss. Brave men indeed

If I'm not mistaken I've seen this pic before and that's a HK417, yum-yum! I'd love to know what he's aiming at though, considering the 'copter is on the ground.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,478 ✭✭✭Chuck the Buck

M4, M16 SPR SR25 type thing, Tavor of some description, something with a wooden stock and a rather large sandwich!

    Do I win a prize?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,805 ✭✭✭Evade

    ...M16 SPR...
Is that not an SR-25? The magazine looks more like a 7.62mm than a 5.56mm to me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,478 ✭✭✭Chuck the Buck

Good call Evade, what can I say I was distracted by that freakin' huge sandwich!!!

It's a TVS-2 mounted on the M2HB. Has x7 magnification, is an image intensifier.
