Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Have you turned off 'Pin on pre-watershed playback' in parental controls?

I've also got Premier Sports & Prem Spts Xtra tuned in on 433/437. They have alot of freeviews compared to Setanta. The UFC was free on here last weekend.

Also got 5USA(+1) & 5*(+1) tuned in so if the glitch is patched at least I'll av em on the guide when they go FTA on Astra 1N. Might be an idea for anyone with a London card to do the same for their version of Channel 5.

We should all bombard Channel 5 with emails and make them aware that there is an interest in their channel in Ireland.Ultimately it would mean more viewers for them if it was available on the ROI Sky epg.

are the cards available from sky and do they send them to ireland?

No, no, stop the misinformation! So far ALL known Sky HD boxes bar the early Thomson's work.

Yes, you have to store in the correct regions that match your FTV card or it won't work, do it right and you can get up to 16 extra channels

How do you tune in all the channel 5 varients??I can only find one channel 5

I basically followed instructions to a tee...added itv central and bb1 westmidlands and had channel 5 there already..

    1)Plugged out box
2)Put in UK FTV west midlands card
3)Plugged in box and waited for it to load
4)All UK channels loaded and working]
    5)Plugged out box
6)Put in my own genuine irish sky card
7)Plugged in box and waited for it to load
    8)Only Irish channels appear :(

AT POINT 5, DO NOT PLUG OUT BOX. PUT IN IRISH CARD AFTER TAKING OUT FTV CARD .. THIS WILL DO THE TRICK wink.gif

There's your problem right there, you just turn it off (not plug it out) and reinsert your Irish card.

Mine works by just switching the cards .. don't need to turn off the box

Just the way I've done it since the beginning and once something works I tend not to mess with the procedure ;)

Trying to get Chanell 5 but cant get it to stay. I can get BBConeHD ITV1HD no problem.

I see posts talking about several C5 that can be added, I can only find the one as listed in the Stickies.

Any help on the other C5 details appreciated.

    Thanks.

If your FTV card isn't from a region that uses the FTA version of 5 then it won't work for you.

Understood, but i dont know what region its from and was just looking to load up on C5's in other channells to give myself the best shot.

Its the frequencies for other C5's that im looking for to give it one last try!

    12422H 27.5 2/3

Store every channel you find on this freq and C5 will now appear on your guide along with 5* & 5USA, none viewable atm tho.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 703 ✭✭✭obliviousgrudge

If this works can you watch 5* and 5USA? And what about 5HD?

Tried that and Channel 5 now stayed in my Irish EPG but it says this programme is not viewable??

    Wrong region card??

The regions that Channel 5 is not available is London north of England and Scotland.

I got the card from a seller in West Midlands so presumed I would be good to go.

You live and learn eh. Might look for another, which is the best region to obtain?

Of course what I meant to say was that in the regions I mentioned channel 5 is encrypted, I got a card from the north and it didn't work, I'd go for a Welsh one.

Are 5* and 5USA and 5HD on the EPG (providing I get the right region Sky card)?

No, this trick only enables viewing of extra FTA channels on the EPG.

which of these would be better for getting channel 5? One from Kent, Southe East england or one from yorkshire?

My London card doesn't get the FTA version of CH5 so I would imagine that the SE England (Kent) would not either due to the proximity of Kent to London.

I couldn't say for Yorkshire but some have said on this thread that a North England card also cannot get FTA Ch5, so it's a good bet it doesn't either.

You don't get these on the Sky EPG in NI but you can add them under 'other channels' and watch them there. There is no UTV1 HD however via Sky but you can get other regions HD.

If the kent card has BBC1 South East at 101 instead of london then it should be fine but Im not 100%. Pretty sure Yorkshire wont work as it northern england.

Every c5 along with 5* & 5usa can be put on the epg but u cant watch em. U will get a 08 This programme is not available message. If you want free UFC add Premier Sports, encrypted most of the time but occasionally free.

Ok, as you can tell from my name Im living in Cork. I ordered a FTV card from Sky last Saturday using advice from a poster here. The card that should be sent to me will be a Northern Ireland one..(fingers crossed)

I have a new Sky HD box and a 1TB HD box...what channels can i expect to gain as a result of the information in this article? What other channels should I tune onto other channels? Im not the greatest when it comes to technology...At the very least I really want to get Channel 5 onto my EPG (huge Big Brother fan).

Any help given would be fantastic..........

I've no idea, ask them what ITV and BBC 1 they get on it, easier to figure out that way.

Exactly. If it's ITV1 Central East, which would be the Nottinghamshire area I think, then it should be ok. By the way it should be noted that although this is an encrypted ITV region it doesn't matter as all Irish cards have the entitlements to unencrypt these. My ITV1 HD is encrypted but I can still watch it.

Well then why is it not the same for C5?
