Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pure scum. Sadly not a shock. :(

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Unusual spot ,a strange beast ! :) '69 Beetle made to look a bit like a WW2 era car ,very likely a glassfibre split window kit ,which is trying to break free !.... can see a rusty stain & evidence of "witness" outline of the original large rear window ... the considerably larger front screen & bigger side windows & newer wheels are giveaways of later model car :)

It's a terrible looking yoke. Why do people do things like that to a car?

    Imported from where?
I wonder where would you get away with those rear lights on a 69?

My late uncle had a split window, an oval and two large window Beetles one after the other.
All long since gone to the car park in the sky!

Guy I know in Zimbabwe had one about 10 years ago with a split rear window, don't know what year it was, it had twin petrol tanks in it, and a lever when the petrol emptied from one you pushed a lever and turned the engine a few times to get the petrol flowing again as there was no petrol gauge in it, He traded it for a mark 2 landcruiser, all rust free too.

That would have been the 6V one AFAIK. My dad had one in the early 70's. It was a '62, 1200cc model I think. DZC 872!!! The reserve tank lever was to the left of the clutch pedal. I think it was like a bucket of petrol inside the tank that you turned upside down and you're right, no fuel guage :)

usually it seems if you see a pre 2000 car, it's a Toyota

That Beetle hasn't moved in a good few years. Theres an old Isuzu Gemini around the corner from it too

I'd be half tempted to buy an old Gemini if I could get one. Was looking at a jap import one offered by an exporter near Tokyo and they wanted something like €€4,500 for a 1989 one. Needless to say, I wasn't interested...:D

I'm using a phone, but just above the mirror I see an eye and a nose of a black face (maybe peeping around the driver's seat). Maybe it's an illusion, but I'm definitely seeing it!
