I was behind an immaculate white Honda Civic Type R (the Jap FN2), and it was absolutely gorgeous. I hadn't been so close to one before, they really are gorgeous in the metal!

3.5l V8 Rover engine out of a Discovery I believe. Direct transplant without big issues.

Oh, and I forgot to say. That Landy can be driven from the age of 16. It has a PTO and is hence registered as tractor. :)

Aye. Imagine being able to drive a car at the age of 16 legally, that has a V8 and costs feck all in tax. Bargain basement there. It'll literally drive everywhere, too.

Controversial but would it not be suicidal giving a car like that to a 16 year old?

Don't see why it would. It's a matter of driver training, really.

In the states you can drive from the age of 15 with your parents in the car or get a full license from the age of 16.

In Denmark you can drive a 50cc moped (30 km/h restricted) from the age of 16 or a tractor.

In Germany you can drive a 50cc moped (30 km/h restricted) from the age of 15 or a tractor and once you are 16, you can drive a 80 km/h 80 cc moped/motorbike.

I'd consider a Landie far less risky than a 80cc motorbike. Also, it might be 3.5l V8, but it's a Rover engine :) .. it only has around 160 bhp and with the gear ratios of a Land Rover, you'd hardly be able to go faster than 80-100 km/h.

Hopefully nothing too major man ;) ..I suppose my advice isn't much good is this instance..the Garda has the upper hand here

Best thing to do is present yourself well dressed and courteous and you might get lucky.

There'll be no points apparently. One of the Gardai that was at the scene said I shouldn't get points anyway.

Crash was pretty bad for the person I hit. Totalled his car and the bumper fell off mine.

OUCH! You'd better contact your insurance company. How's the crash happen? Let me guess yound driver acting the bollocks??

Not lecturing...just been there, done that...

Chalk it down to experience man

Not condoning it but most of us have done the same (without crashing admittedly but looking back on it that was probably more luck than anything else), do learn from it but once the other driver is ok healthwise and gets their car sorted satisfactorily and you take something away from the experience than some good may come of it. You only get away with a one or two biggies in life so look at it that way.

Yeah he's grand now. His car was meant to be a write off as was thought by my dad's friend who's the main crash repair specialist down in Kenny Brothers. The insurance company then repaired it though

And yeah I have learned my lesson, mainly in being more observant. Having my second driving test now on the 6th so we'll see how that goes.

This happened back in November so was all sorted ages ago. The Gardai however are only getting on it now. We'll see how tomorrow goes :)

What do a Lada and a tampon have in common. They both come with a tow rope.

Not something you see from us! I bet you that not one arsenal fan thought theyd come back today, myself included.

Nothing better than sneaking out from work with 5 others to watch the penalties and last few mins of the final to be caught by the manager and be told 'stay here and let me know the result asap" :D

Hmmmm... I'm wondering can you still do this? Our one might arise from a 17 year hibernation... ;)
