Well they do say the first part of fixing a problem, is admitting that you have one in the first place. ;)

Too true. The son of one of the lads in the job was looking for a car over there recently. He didn't think it would be too bad until he got a price for a 02 Holden Barina (Opel Corsa).......€6,500.

    €6,500 is about $8000 ....That's about 5 weeks pay.

In reality the average price of a 02 Barina is about $5000 (€4000) still sounds wild expensive for a crappy Corsa which you would only pay about €2500 in Ireland or India for. European cars are way over priced here, not really worth the money when you can buy a local car far cheaper and it suits the country better.

I bought a brand new 3.6L Commodore SV6 for $38K last Jan, they were roughly around that price ($37K) back in Jan 2009 and at that time was €19,000.

    Today money that's €30,000

Anybody that has a day off Tuesday there's a trackday in Mondello, I'll gladly take people out for Passenger runs, it'll cost you a tenner to sign on

Oh that's not me selling the spots btw, that's what Mondello charge. There'll be roughly 40 cars out and once you sign on you can bum as many passenger laps as you like. If I'm not out myself I normally go down and usually get a good load of laps

Im just after checking donedeal with other countries to compare prices........

Ireland: A 2002 opel corsa goes from 1200-2700
    http://cars.donedeal.ie/find/cars/for-sale/Ireland/?filter%28make%29=Opel&filter%28max_year%29=2002&filter%28min_year%29=2002&filter%28model%29=Corsa&sort=price+desc

UK: A 2002 opel corsa goes from 700-4700
    http://www.autotrader.co.uk/search/used/cars/vauxhall/corsa/postcode/sw1a0aa/radius/1501/keywords/2002/page/1/sort/pricedesc

Italy: A 2002 opel corsa goes from 700-4500
    http://www.subito.it/annunci-friuli-venezia-giulia-italia/vendita/auto/?q=Opel%20Corsa%202002&sp=1&ref=list_eng_search&rs=22

France: A 2002 opel corsa goes from 1500-5000
    http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/offres/bretagne/occasions/?o=11&rs=2002&re=2002&q=Opel%20Corsa&sp=1

Germany: A 2002 opel corsa goes from 1500-8200
    http://suchen.mobile.de/auto/search.html?scopeId=C&isSearchRequest=true&sortOption.sortBy=searchNetGrossPrice&makeModelVariant1.makeId=19000&makeModelVariant1.modelId=10&minFirstRegistrationDate=2002-01-01&maxFirstRegistrationDate=2002-12-31&export=ALSO_EXPORT

Balkans: A 2002 opel corsa goes from 2500-5000
    http://www.njuskalo.hr/auti/opel-corsa?f_year_manufactured_min=2002&f_year_manufactured_max=2002&f_ads_with_images=1&sort=cheap&page=3

So Ireland compares favorably to other countries,
Cheapest is Italy with 700 but that look to be for a piece of sh1t.
and UK with what looks a reasonable car.

Most expensive is the Balkans no fcukin surprises there, considering there's 30% unemployment, wages are half what you get in EU, but they still charge EU prices for cars that are lower specced than India.

Cicno if you read this can you throw up the polish version of donedeal if you get time thx, and if anybody else has other countries with a donedeal version that they know of.

I'd like to see as many comparisons in Europe as possible.

Friday after work is usually the only evening I go out for pints but the odd time I do Sunday afternoon too. Don't get me wrong though, I enjoy a few brews at home also! ;)
