Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Total Xposure on TV3

    from www.iftn.ie
The three judges consist of publisher Michael O’Doherty, former MTV presenter Emma Ledden and public relations specialist Gerry Lundberg.
Each judge will bring their individual experience and expertise to the show which will be vital when selecting the new Xposé Presenter. The newest member of the team will join Karen Koster, Glenda Gilson, Lisa Cannon and Aisling O’Loughlin on the daily entertainment show, Xposé.

Applications opened 15th May and closed Wednesday 3rd June at 5pm. TV3 received over 1,000 individual applications and show reels, with an upsurge in delivery the days prior to the closing date. Applicants included a variety of people with very different backgrounds including reality TV Stars from Ireland and the UK, both former and the Current Miss Ireland representatives, many working journalists, twins, models, beauty pageant winners and children’s TV presenters.

The finalists will face the team of Michael O’Doherty, Emma Ledden and Gerry Lundberg on the judging panel. Over the course of Total Xposure, the contestants will complete a number of tasks directly relating to the potential job to join the Xposé team.

The first hour long show will air June 30th and run for eight consecutive weeks. The new presenter will be revealed on the final show Tuesday, August 18th.

Director of Programming, Ben Frow said: "The judges will bring a wealth of knowledge to the show, while bringing a level of honesty, compassion, sensitivity and in some cases frankness that can only come from experience within their individual industries. The show is sure to produce a lot of fun over the summer weeks.”

I don't think professionals should be allowed enter this competition it kind of goes against the idea of Reality TV.

Think we will see Noirin from Big Brother ending up there eventually

They were introducing Emma Leddan as a 'Communications Expert' yesterday on Expose.....Since when has she become a 'communications expert'?!!

She's no Denis O'Brien but I definitely would! :pac:

No one heard back, it was just a PR scam. They had all the people picked before they set it up!

20 people selected altogether. Daily Mail reported that some high profiled where told where to go, while the Herald said the job was only for 20 grand a year.

Bizzare time are they afraid to put it on during prime time?

Read all that recently! They released a few names ; Ruth O'Neill, Brian Dowling, Adrienne Rock, Leanne Moore ... They all applied. Was in most of the tabloids!

So was the thing about the salary - Said it was completely made up and they wouldn't be issuing details about the presenter's pay.

Really? Said something on the website about all applicants being responded to by the 23rd! Which was Tuesday.

"All applicants will be notified as to whether their application was not successful by June 23rd"

It's an odd programming choice alright. I'd say it has something to do with the GAA being on.

If people can't watch it then, I'm pretty sure it'll be repeated!

Any guesses as to who made it to the final?

The show is actually on every Tuesday @9. Sunday is just a preview of some of the celeb enteries because they had so many enteries they couldnt fit it into the first show.

Well, given that the show is two hours long, I presume a good chunk of the auditions will be in it! Probably all the humorous ones!
Very excited to see it :D

Then have an extra show on at 9pm or use it as an extra on 3e, Total Exporsure Extra straight after Total Exposure on TV3

Yeah - The terms and conditions on the application form said that due to the high number of applications they would not be contacting unsuccessful applicants. Didn't get to see it last night. Was it any good?!

One of the geezers on the judging panel, Michael O'Doherty, is a bit of a twat - he was on some show last Thursday on TV3 with that vacuous bimbo Brunker and came across as an utter dick

I'd love to use his head for a football

A friend of mine applied, she got her letter the other day! I guess they just had a change of heart and decided to respond to everyone...

I thought it was good! Odd time to have it on, for definite, but luckily enough, I wasn't up to much and got to see it! I presume it'll go up on the website? Most of their programmes seem to.

According to the scheduling on their website, the wannabes show is being repeated tonight at 8, before the Total Xposure show at 9!

There's been a lot of speculation in the press about who's in it! Looking forward to seeing if any famous like Ruth O'Neill or Brian Dowling make an appearance :D

I wouldn't go by the wannabies show, as a guide to what the main show is like. Unless you enjoyed the E4 run up to Big Brother a few years ago

It went on for 2 hours on Sunday.

They really should be using 3e for extra shows like this.

RTÉ did a similar show a few years back called The Fame Game. Caroline Morihan won that.

Oh, of course not! The Wannabes show is just a bit of entertainment! Didn't see Brendan Kilkenny in the mix sadly ... Maybe he didn't get the memo about this one!

They did use 3e! That's where I watched the show on Sunday.

Ah, and she did pretty well for herself! I read a feature about the final 10 in The Daily Mirror today ... A lot of them actually seem pretty qualified ; done presenting courses, acting experience etc!

Ruth O'Neill is a finalist ... and this other assets' Model ... Daniella Moyles! Well represented anyway! :p

It isn't even a bit of entertainment, sorry this show is out of my ..... anything really now that I think of it. (You could be right I may have been watching in 3e)

If they are all qualified what is the point of this show?

    Link to their website http://www.tv3.ie/shows.php?request=totalxposure

Qualified in the sense that they seem to have relevant experience!
Some of them anyway! There's a few people in there that have never been on tv before - recognise a few of them from the Wannabes show!

Should be interesting to see what the first show is like anyway ... all I've heard is there's plenty of tasks and challenges ... probably things like reading things to camera from memory, or with an amazingly fast auto-cue!

I've done TV presenting in college and it's actually a lot harder and less glamourous than it seems!

It is in the reality forum. Also The Den have been running a children's version of this show for the last 3 years. Guess who's the judge?

I reckon it's going to be quite entertaining!

The Wannabes show was pretty good on Sunday... knew a couple of people who's auditions were shown!

Should be interesting to see what the first episode is like ... All I've really heard is it involves tasks and challenges ... and that they axe 10 people from the show

I think it might be ok! It might have more appeal with an Irish audience because it's more localised than American Idol, X Factor and the likes! Plus, we're such a small country - we're bound to know someone in it, or know someone who does!

    The Wannabes show was dreadful.

I will give the main show some credit before stating that that was any good.

I do and she's been telling me of the cringy stories already, some of the tasks are cringtastic. I feel for her cause she actually really wants it but has to jump through hoops to get it. Regardless it should be hilarious to watch and laugh at

Well, c'mon! It's a presenting job - it's highly sought after it and it's hardly going to fall into someone's lap without a bit of hard work and ... cringtastic-ness!

Yeah, I reckon it should be good!

I don't think the wannabes show was as bad as it's being made out to be - every reality tv programme has one and it's often the part that gets the most viewers ; seeing the people who did well ... and the people who missed the mark by a long shot!

That's a wise move - Everything's been kept very hush hush! The press have had access to very little information up until the past few days.

Regardless, I think tonight's show will be very entertaining! Can't wait to see what happens and how the challenges go...

Well, I'm passionate about it for a reason, or reasons, even!

It's a good chance for people to experience what it's like, to work in the media and to see it's not as simplistic, or easy as people believe.

It's reality TV, which has a stigma attached to it ... but I reckon it'll also enlighten people, to a certain degree.

Well for a start you've narrowed it down by saying she!!

And yes, he does know her. I'm not as good at keeping my mouth shut on things like this so i'd better leave the thread now or i might rob Xpose of half their ratings. And they can't afford that seeing as nobody takes the show seriously anyway! My mate was modelling hats on it and was even too embarrassed to tell anyone!

Haha, aww! Nothing wrong with a bit of Xpose - the content is a bit stereotypical, but it's good if you do have a bit of an interest in fashion etc!
