Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My mom was thinking that Pete's son is going to end up taking Pete's meds. I think that the whole Pete's back scene was just taken from Fair City's lists of things to do when they run a few minutes short of the timeslot, including:

Pete putting his back out for the millionth time
Bela moaning to Yvonne about something
Paul giving Rachel a hard time
Dermot, and now Lucy, giving someone the thousand yard stare
Extended scenes of people sitting uncomfortably in the Halpin's front room
    Minutes-long Cass stories
Bob and Louie sniping at each other
    Carol and Louie arguing
Louie going on and on about Boston

What else does Fair City keep doing to stretch out the runtimes?

they'd want to wind up the lucy story soon, its going on lonf enough and looks like now theyre goin to drag the arse out of it.

I miss watching Christy sweeping outside Spar. Those were the days.

Is Lucy related to Hannibal Lecter by any chance?

I get the same feeling watching her scenes

How long is it actually going on, looked back through the threads to see when did she start popping up, but couldn't get a definite. Was it this year she started or last? They really know how to drag it out anyway

Had a look at Digital Spy, no sign of any answers all next week either :( WAAAH!

Oh, and the scene with the 2 of them in the park when Lucy said it's "my word against yours" to Emily...?
Ya the word of a trusted social worker, or the word of a mentally deranged lunatic??

    Hmmmmmmm....

Decent enough episode - getting bored with the Lucy story at this stage but I have to say the actress does cold and callous quite well (by Fair City standards)
I have to say that although Bob was antagonising Louis, my jaw dropped when Louis said it to him about his kid and I have to say I felt sorry for him.

    What happened Bob's son?

If I remember correctly, Bob's 3-year-old son drowned at the beach, and Bob couldn't get to him to save him. It has haunted him ever since.

For anyone who might be interested, actress Lorna Quinn gave an interview about Lucy. Her answers are pretty vague (I guess she can't give much away) but from the way she was talking, I'd say the Lucy storyline is far from over.

Sidenote: I'd rather the Lucy storyline any day over the Louie/Carol storyline. At this point I'm ready to pack Louie's bags and buy him a one way ticket to Boston.

I'm not a big fan of Bob but any time his son is mentioned it makes me sad.

This weeks RTE FC poll: Lucy seems unstoppable. Who could take her down? Laura or Pete?

Okay, I get Laura... but what does Pete really have to do with that storyline right now? He's more upset about his psycho son's chef knives.

I guess because Laura and Pete have always been the characters who never really buy into Lucy's stories and see something is off with her and will be quicker to notice that her stories contradict each other or don't make sense, as opposed to Dolores and Wayne who think the sun shines out her arse and she can.do or say no wrong

I find emily and laura a bit odd? Laura, a fitness instructor and some one the size of a house.

And would they ever change the small denim jacket on emily and give her something that fits her. I cant stand the look of her.

Pete is going to be staying at Dolores flat while his back is healing so maybe Lucy goes mental on him :p

You do know not everything is about looks, right? I don't think Laura is that shallow. And I happen to find Emily quite appealing.

You mean Lucy and not Laura?
Don't think Emily was her social worker. She found her when she "escaped" or whatever from the mental hospital and tried to calm her down by bringing her to her flat as Lucy refused to go back to the hospital that night. Which I guess aint protocol! Lucy is trying to make out Emily made advances to her on perved on her. Not many people esp in Emilys work know she is gay and she likes to keep it private so she might be worried people would believe lucys claims!

When it all comes out I hope Dolores smacks Lucy that would be great seeing how much Lucy is obsessed with her!

Louie is a passive aggresive fart.
Carol is a complete cow to Sash as much as Louie likes to be in control so does Carol and she takes it out on Sash as she's the only one she could try and control.

I think Emily must have been involved in Lucy's case that landed her in the looney bend or else why would she take in a looney stranger off the street

True! Or maybe just because she was a social worker and likes to help looney strangers :pac: Think she mentioned something about working on another case of some other girl and seeing Lucy at the hospital...maybe she then recognised her on the street.

Really hope they don't drag it out.

I think about this whole wedding in Boston, Louie is thinking off moving over there bet he will bring up the idea nearer the wedding. Folks making reference to how fast the kids grow up and him looking sad about it and missing out on loads of stuff with them. It's tricky but Carol really shouldn't dig her heels in about the other kids esp all this they are "half brother and half sister" and "it's good to establish that early on". Feic sake Carol they are just as equally important as Jack is! No need to try and cause a feicin wedge between them just because you are feicin insecure

i want the lucy story to end cos im impatient.

Carol & louie is just awful stuff, i sky+ FC(kids bedtime) and fwd straight through the louie scenes. It would have been better if Christy turned out to be jacks father, as it is theres nothing left in louie's story..carol can always go on the razz :)

Watched Fairly ****ty for the first time in 2 months today. Its amazing, basically nothing has changed! Between the bickerings of Carol and louie and that ridiculously prolonged lucy story, glad to see our tv licence is well spent! Only positive was not a Bishop or a Kilkenny Clan member in site. Only plot change was laura likes her BBWs and Sarah and Steve have joined the cast, although no sign of Sarah, just Steve with a terrible Dublin accent and an even worse depiction of pain. Ill say something, fair city writers, ye are consistent!

thanks padantic Pat, i didnt see her tbh. Heard a reference that she was outside the shop with louies kid @ 1 stage but must of missed her. Its inevitable that all i missed was her and carol hissing at eachother or her serving a pint so no harm done.

Regarding Lucy - she was introduced to Dolores as the benefactor of her dead daughter's organ donation. It was so long ago I can't remember, did Dolores actually have medical evidence of this or did she just take Lucy's word for it? Because if it turns out to be false it could add to her Dolores obsession and/or possibility of her being Harry's illegitimate daughter. Guess when this storyline finally comes to a conclusion, I'll get my grandkids to tell me how it finished.

I was only thinking about earlier on - I hope when the storyline comes to an end we find out why Lucy made a beeline for Dolores and also about Lucy's mother - remember she made the phone call and got her mother's voice mail...
