Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Vinegar Hill! What size lens did you use?
    Great pic!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,146 ✭✭✭Morrisseeee

It was with an old 100-300mm Pentax lens, probably taken at 300mm.

Background: I then loaded up the pic in Photoshop CS3 & used a Blur tool to blur the houses to enhance the Cathederal. I was going to delete the pic at first as there were too many distractions in it, but I liked the way the birds were just flying around the Cathederal, then when I zoomed in on the original pic I thought I'd give the Blur tool a try !

Scaller has it. It's the sand dunes south of the Coast Guard station at Kilmichael, looking south. The beach is called Kilpatrick. A great place for a few photographs (particularly at sunrise), good for birdwatching and generally just a nice place for a good walk.

Where is that? I haven't heard of Kilmichael before and it looks a really nice beach, like Curracloe was 15 years ago.

Kilmichael is at the very north of County Wexford almost at the Wicklow border. If you head north from the Golden Anchor pub along the coast road for about two miles you will come to a small roadway to the right hand side, with a small finger post sign for sea angling. This road is a cul-de-sac, with grass in the middle of the road in places and ends at the coast guard station after about a mile. You'll need your boots from here, follow the wall around the station, climb the gate, and start walking southward.

    near Bridgetown is it?
    ....Nope.

Ok, I'll PM you the answer at 8pm.

Hint 1: Northern half of the county.

If it's the same place I'm thinking off we always just called it St Helen's beach. Lovely beach and was usually pretty quiet, the steps down to the beach seemed massive when we were kids.

Yeah, I think you are right, looks like St Helens.
