Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah. Look at when Warner Bros intentionally scheduled Batman V Superman for the same weekend Marvel had already earmarked for one of their films (before announcing it was Captain America: Civil War). I think once they announced what it was and that they weren't moving, Warner Bros backed down and brought the release of BvS forward.

I think sometimes they can have scripts written and casts locked down. I've heard of actors and screenwriters being paid for movies that never happened.

Multi picture contracts are standard practice too when it comes to franchises like these, there's always the risk they'll flop but it's riskier not to tie people down in the first place.

I remember reading The Mortal Instraments had begun casting big name actors in the sequel and where ready to rock n roll with it until the first movie bombed.

Yeah that's true. I think for most contracts they receive a certain amount to be attached or for the script (if its the writer) then if the film is made they receive extra. So no guarantee a film will be made just because script and cast is locked down and paid.

Could be wrong but that's my basic understanding

I wonder will Hugh Jackman make a Wolverine cameo to keep up his appearance in all things in the X-Men Universe.

Hardly a spoiler to say "those scenes were cool" :P

Looks a good bit better than the last trailer, though kind of felt like a bit of a "show the whole film" trailer.

That trailer is even better then the first one! I am really looking forward to this, roll on February 12th!

I dunno, I think I was worried I might ruin what I felt was a thrilling surprise so close to where people might be clicking the trailer for the first time.

I hope it's not a full film reveal :( but see where ye're coming from.

Also, that scene with the car window is just soooo how I feel deadpool has been built up in my understanding (from zero) over the last few years :)

He's always seemed really enthusiastic about Hero roles and the same with this. Looks good so far and he sounds like he's REALLY trying to avoid past mistakes like Green Lantern or sowing up Deadpool in XMen. Fingers crossed.

Most shops have big volumes collecting a heap of older titles. If you're looking for something current, you could start with Gerry Duggan's run (first book is called Dead Presidents). If you'd like something short and self-contained to try out the character, I really enjoyed Night of the Living Deadpool.

Does this mean the film will be rated 18? I hope so that it's not just another light 15/r-rated action movie.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,216 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

It's been rated R in the States, so it'll be 18's here i'd assume.

18 would be more equivalent to an NC17 or even a hard R. Lots of R rated movies just get by with a 15A here.

    Guess it's a question of whether it's a heavy or a light R.

+1 for Dead Presidents, as someone with limited comic knowledge i found it an easy enough jumping on point (and very funny)

That rating's just for a trailer, and trailers are rated a lot more harshly than full-length films because they're shorter so there's less time to establish context, so a trailer's rating could be lower or higher than the film's. One example I can think of is Ted getting an 18 rated trailer even though the film was a 15.

I also wouldn't be too worried if it gets a 15 - they can get very violent nowadays. It will probably get more lenient treatment because it's a comedy, which helped Kick-Ass to get a 15 instead of an 18.

This is in UK rating terms but I would be surprised if it got a 15A in Ireland. I'm expecting it to be at least a 16.
